The accurate location of arcing faults is of great significance to ensure the stable operation of the power system. Normally, arc discharge will radiate outward high-frequency electromagnetic signals. In this paper, an arcing fault location method based on Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) signals and Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) is proposed. A mathematical model of the arc fault location based on TDOA is established. The energy accumulation method is used to capture the time difference of EMR signals reaching different sensors, and the Chan algorithm is used to calculate the nonlinear equations to obtain the estimated coordinate of the arcing fault. The results of the arcing fault location experiment show that the time difference error of EMR signals is less than 0.2ns. The location error is about 11cm, which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed location method for arc fault. © 2022 IEEE.

Gas control technology for coal and gas outburst mines based on new sealing materials

In order to solve the problem of gas overlimit in corner corners of coal and gas prominent mines, through thecombination of air leakage mechanism in the goaf, near-ﬁeld ﬁssure expansion and rich area division, blockingmaterial development and optimization, performance measurement of blocking materials and on-site test, westarted to study the causes of gas concentration in corner corners, analysis of roof collapse and transparency incorners and performance test of blocking materials, and optimized the blocking materials by combining laboratory test and engineering test. Considering the thickness of the sealing ﬁlm, the attenuation ratio of the sealingﬁlm thickness, the gelation time, and the gelation viscosity under different ratios, we designed a multi factororthogonal experiment to optimize the optimal ratio suitable for the engineering site. Factors affecting blockingeffectiveness, such as gel water retention and gel ﬂame resistance, were also tested. The sealing scheme wasimplemented in the 2109 working face of a coal and gas outburst mine in Gansu, China. Through on-sitemonitoring of the changes in temperature, gas concentration, and air leakage at each monitoring point beforeand after the use of sealing materials, the analysis of the detection results shows that the temperature changes ateach monitoring point after the use of sealing materials do not exceed 0.2C;The change in oxygen concentrationis less than 0.27 %;The gas concentration has decreased by more than 60 %, with a decrease of 71.32 % in the gasconcentration in the upper corner. The air leakage has decreased by more than 53 %, and the proportion ofdecrease in air leakage at the upper corner is as high as 56.83 %. This air leakage control technology hasremarkable blocking effect, meets the requirements of corner near-ﬁeld ﬁssure blocking material, and is easy toprepare, inexpensive, non-toxic, tasteless and green, providing a successful experience for the treatment of similarcoal and gas outburst min

The development of unmanned transportation technology has improved operational efficiency and safety in open-pit mining areas. However, there remain significant challenges to be addressed. One pressing issue is the need for mining trucks to pass through the area where the cable is laid on the ground. Accidentally crushing or damaging these cables would lead to significant risk to the mining area operation. However, due to the complexity of the mining environment and the characteristics of cables being thin and curved, the existing methods such as edge segmentation are difficult to meet the requirements for cable segmentation. This paper introduces a cable segmentation method based on Mask2Former and carries out comprehensive experiments to examine the effectiveness of the method. Experimental results show that the proposed method achieves IoU of 66.04% and PA of 80.08%, which can meet the requirements of practical applications. © 2024 IEEE.

As intelligent and autonomous driving technologies advance, the secure and productive functioning of mining trucks during autonomous operations is critically dependent on precise object detection within open-pit mining environments. Due to the sparse nature of point cloud data for small objects such as stones, cones, and equipment parts, they are susceptible to generating false negatives and false positives. Although camera images are rich in semantic content, the absence of precise depth cues renders them vulnerable to interference from background noise. Currently, the technology of fusing LiDAR point cloud and camera image data for 3D object detection is gaining popularity in this field. In this paper, we introduce a query feature generation strategy based on multi-scale image features in the cross-attention-based feature fusion module to generate high-quality fusion features for small objects. Additionally, within the traditional non-maximum suppression strategy, we introduce size factors and shape factors to alleviate the sensitivity of small objects to bounding box offsets. Notably, our network model has achieved an mAP of 88.0 and an NDS of 77.9 on the mining dataset, significantly enhancing the precision of detecting small objects over previous approaches. © 2024 IEEE.

Modular multilevel converter (MMC) has broad application prospects in medium voltage scenarios such as DC distribution networks. Medium and low voltage MMC usually use carrier phase shift PWM (CPS-PWM), and the analytical formula of zero crossing point of MMC arm current considering double frequency circulating current component is complex, resulting in the existing MMC loss accurate calculation models are very complex and slow. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a simplified loss calculation model for MMC considering the equivalent of switching devices, which can easily, quickly and accurately calculate converter power losses under different operating conditions without and with circulation suppression, especially reveal the mathematical relationship between converter power losses and its double frequency circulation current component. Finally, based on actual engineering parameters, a comparative analysis of multiple operating conditions is carried out in the MATLAB/Simulink simulation, which verifies the correctness and accuracy of the proposed simplified loss calculation model. © 2222 IET Conference Proceedings

The tumor treatment field imposes a low intensity (1–3 V/cm) intermediate frequency (100 kHz–500 kHz) alternating electric field on the tumor cells to destroy the normal mitotic process of tumor cells, thereby inhibiting the proliferation of tumor cells. Clinically, it has been shown that the tumor treatment field can effectively slow down the growth of tumors under the premise of non-invasiveness to patients, and only some patients have mild dermatitis. This paper designs a tumor treatment electrode array suitable for lung cancer, builds an actual human thoracic cavity simulation model, first explores the distribution of tumor treatment fields in different tissues of the thoracic cavity, and clarifies that the field strength of the tumor area can reach the treatment threshold. Subsequently, the electrode array layout is rotated, and the field strength increase of the tumor at different rotation angles is analyzed, and the rotating electrode array layout with the largest field strength increase is found. The research in this paper is the first to conduct a more in-depth array layout optimization for a human thoracic cavity model. The proposed electrode array layout optimization scheme has a reference value for the application of the tumor treatment field in lung cancer. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Camera-based tactile sensors provide a convenient and low-cost approach for robot tactile perception. However, existing sensors are customized and only suit limited robots, which retards tactile applications. In this work, we proposed a modular design for camera-based tactile sensor to facilitate their integration on various robot grippers and fingers. Specifically, we disassemble tactile sensors into sense module for sensing surface interaction, receptor module for arranging camera, illumination, and structure elements, and adapter module for connection with robot gripper.
