Half-wave commutated modular multilevel converter (HWC-MMC) is suitable for high-voltage large-capacity AC-AC conversion, and an appropriate capacitor voltage balancing strategy is essential. This paper analyzes the condition of capacitor voltage balancing and proposes a capacitor voltage balancing strategy based on optimal zero-sequence voltage injection using the model predictive control. Finally, the simulation is carried out to verify the proposed strategy. © 2024 IEEE.

Crane systems are commonly used transportation tools in industry to transport heavy cargoes to corresponding target positions. If the cargo shape is large which could not be regarded as a mass point or the hook mass also needs to be taken into account, the cranes would perform as double pendulum systems, whose dynamics are more complex than those of single pendulum systems. Since the working environment for crane systems can be very complex in practice, unavoidable emergency situations may occur, which are very dangerous. To avoid possible accidents, effective emergency braking methods are urgently needed, especially for double pendulum cranes with large cargoes. Considering this fact, this paper presents a coupling enhanced braking strategy for double pendulum cranes, which stops the trolley fast and achieves double pendulum vibration elimination objectives simultaneously. Specifically, an elaborately designed variable consisting of the trolley movement, the hook's swing, and the payload's swing, is utilized as feedback, which enhances the system couplings and improves the vibration elimination ability. Some constraint items are also introduced to restrict the payload in a safety domain and further avoid possible collisions. The effectiveness is rigorously analyzed and proved by mathematical analysis. Some experiments are executed to show the performance of the designed strategy. © 2022 IEEE.

Most of the existing path-planning algorithms do not consider lateral safe distance requirements in practical applications. Hence, in this study, a new path point selection algorithm is proposed for path planning. The algorithm first used the Harris and Line Segment Detector(LSD) algorithms to detect and obtain the corner and edge information of obstacles. A vertical line was provided to the edge of the surrounding obstacles along each corner successively. In this process, the narrow impassable area in the map was filtered and removed by setting a safety threshold, and the foot of the vertical coordinates were simultaneously obtained. The corresponding midpoint coordinates were solved by using the corner coordinates and the foot of the corresponding perpendicular coordinates. The midpoint coordinates were used as candidate points to generate path points. These candidate points are screened and relaxed using the Probabilistic Roadmaps(PRM) algorithm to obtain the series of path points required. Finally, the path was planned according to these path points and smoothed using the Quadratic polynomial interpolation method(QPMI). Through simulation experiments, the method proposed in this study can solve a unique path without randomness under given conditions, and the probability of a collision in practical applications was reduced. © 2022 SPIE.

As the construction of the new power system progresses, the marked increase in the penetration rate of renewable energy, the intensified coupling of multi-energy systems, the closer interconnection among regional power grids, and the accelerated advancement of electricity market reforms have significantly heightened the complexity and uncertainty of the system. These developments pose substantial challenges to the existing dispatching technologies. In this paper, an auxiliary decision-making model through comprehensive utilization of multi-type active power adjustment resources is proposed. Firstly, the paper presents the framework of the auxiliary decision-making model. Then, the paper proceeds meticulously to establish the auxiliary decision-making model, including variables, the objective and constrains. Finally the validity of the model is verified using actual grid data from a specific region. © 2024 IEEE.

YOWOv2: A Stronger yet Efficient Multi-level Detection Framework for Real-time Spatio-temporal Action Detection

Designing a real-time framework for the spatiotemporal action detection task is still a challenge. In this paper, we propose a novel real-time action detection framework, YOWOv2. In this new framework, YOWOv2 takes advantage of both the 3D backbone and 2D backbone for accurate action detection. A multi-level detection pipeline is designed to detect action instances of different scales. To achieve this goal, we carefully build a simple and efficient 2D backbone with a feature pyramid network to extract different levels of classification features and regression features. For the 3D backbone, we adopt the existing efficient 3D CNN to save development time. By combining 3D backbones and 2D backbones of different sizes, we design a YOWOv2 family including YOWOv2-Tiny, YOWOv2-Medium, and YOWOv2-Large. We also introduce the popular dynamic label assignment strategy and anchor-free mechanism to make the YOWOv2 consistent with the advanced model architecture design. With our improvement, YOWOv2 is significantly superior to YOWO, and can still keep real-time detection. Without any bells and whistles, YOWOv2 achieves 87.0% frame mAP and 52.8% video mAP with over 20 FPS on the UCF101-24. On the AVA, YOWOv2 achieves 21.7% frame mAP with over 20 FPS. Combined Cooling, Heating and Power(CCHP) system is an important way to improve the efficiency of energy utilization and wind power consumption. In this case, increasing the operational flexibility of CCHP systems can help increase renewable energy consumption and reduce carbon emissions. So, it is necessary to provide real-time optimal energy management(OEM) for CCHP systems. In this paper. Firstly, a new training method is proposed for the LightGBM to improve the accuracy of real-time wind power prediction. In addition, to solve the nonlinear OEM of CCHP in real-time, a novel deep reinforcement learning algorithm-Soft Actor-Critic, is used in this paper. By combining the mechanism of CCHP with the reward function through knowledge fusion, the non-convex models can be translated into Markov Decision Processes(MDP), and then according to the Bellman optimal equation, the real-time optimized operation of the CCHP system is realized. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed policy is verified by the actual operation data of a CCHP system in Northwest China. © 2023 IEEE.

The interaction between humans and their environment significantly impacts the health of urban ***,there is limited research on assessing the spatiotemporal variations of human thermal exposure as well as inequalities and their relationships with greenspace based on remote sensing data,especially in developing *** study offers a framework utilizing pixel-wise data on land surface coolness index(LSCI),normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI),and population metrics to evaluate population-weighted thermal and greenspace exposures in China’s Greater Bay Area(GBA)over eleven years(2010–2020).It further examines thermal exposure inequality using the Gini index and explores both natural and socio-economical drivers of thermal exposure and its *** results indicate an increasing trend of cities within the GBA being experiencing detrimental thermal *** the study period,the proportion of cities with high exposure to LSCI and NDVI exhibited a general *** 63.6%of major cities observed growing imbalances in LSCI and NDVI exposures over eleven ***,there were positive correlations between NDVI exposure and LSCI exposure,along with their associated ***,coastal cities characterized by lower elevations,higher precipitation rates,and rapid economic growth experienced higher levels of LSCI and NDVI exposures yet these cities also demonstrated greater disparities.

When shooting underwater, limited by different camera hardware and lighting, underwater images are generally of low quality and blurred details. Moreover, due to the different absorption rates of the R, G, and B three-color wavelengths, the color of underwater photos is distorted. This affects the feasibility of studying underwater images. The majority of currently available techniques for improving underwater photographs mainly solve the problem of overall denoising and brightness enhancement of underwater images while ignoring the edge details of the image. As a solution to the aforementioned issues, we suggest a method using a double extraction network structure model based on the Laplacian operator, which can dehaze underwater images more quickly. One is to use downsampling and upsampling to reduce the excessive distortion of the image during training, and the other is to use the Laplacian operator to reduce the blurring of the edge to enhance the clarity of the edge and use the blue‒green model for multiscale fusion. We adopted MSE loss and proved its superiority through experiments and index analysis by training images of different underwater scenes. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper establishes simulation modeling for large-scale grid connected wind power with energy storage system (ESS). The conventional grid-following (GFL) based ESS is used as a reference object to test the active support performance of large-scale grid-connected wind power with grid-forming (GFM) based ESS with active support performance evaluation indices in different scenarios. (1) Small disturbance evaluation indices: The point of common coupling (PCC) frequency/voltage drop depth and recovery time. (2) Large disturbance evaluation indices: The PCC frequency/voltage drop depth and rise height after fault removal. The output active/reactive power drop depth and rise height/recovery time after fault removal. (3) Island capability evaluation indices: The PCC frequency/voltage fluctuation amplitude at the moment of switching and system stability after switching. © 2023 IEEE.
