We demonstrate a low latency fiber channel distortion equalizer that implements mainly of the equalization calculations in the optical domain, based on an integrated photonic reservoir computing chip. We discussed the equalization effect of the equalizer under different dispersion noise and optical signal-to-noise ratio (OSNR) conditions. The bit error rate (BER) of the C-band with 25Gb/s on-off key (OOK) distorted signal in 25km standard single-mode fiber (SSMF) has been reduced by 3 orders of magnitude. By optimizing weights, this equalizer can adapt to link impairments. It can effectively equalize the distorted signals at data rates of 10-40 Gb/s over 25km in SSMF transmission. Furthermore, it can efficiently equalize the impaired signals after 5-40km SSMF transmission at a signal rate of 25Gb/s. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to ensure that ships in inland waterways can realize safe and efficient autonomous navigation, this paper proposes a method for real-time waterway detection using MonoLayout algorithm, which predicts the Bird’s Eye View (BEV) in front of the ship using the First Person View (FPV) image as input. In order to improve the accuracy and generalization of the model, two datasets are produced for training, namely, the dataset containing only the real scene (RealBEV) and the dataset with 7:1 mixing of the Unity3D simulated scene and the real scene (MixBEV). To validate the data and recognition effects of comparing the two datasets, multiple experiments are conducted. The experiments show that the model trained with MixBEV has an average intersection and merger ratio (mIoU) of 88.02%, an average pixel accuracy (mAP) of 89.49%, and a single-image prediction time of 24.06 ms for channel detection. mIoU and mAP are improved by 5.58% and 3.19%, respectively, compared to the single RealBEV data, and for different ships in the same scene, The generalizability is well improved. It also shows that MixBEV can better balance the accuracy of recognition and real-time recognition when detecting inland waterways. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd. 2025.

Visual Servo Stabilization of Nonholonomic Mobile Robot Based on Epipolar Geometry and 1D Trifocal Tensor

In this paper, a visual servo stabilization approach consisting in a dynamic switching control law for a nonholonomic mobile robot is presented, which applies the epipolar geometry and the 1D trifocal tensor to drive the robot to a desired configuration. The whole motion process is divided into three steps. Firstly, an epipole-based control law is designed to make the robot rotate in place until the camera points to the desired position. The 1D trifocal tensor is then used in the second translation step to reach the desired place. Finally, the desired configuration is reached through a pure rotation using the epipolar geometry. The stability of the proposed control system is proved based on linear system control theory and Lyapunov theory. Simulation results are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

Fabricating solar parabolic trough concentrators by bending flat elastic sheets into precise parabolic shapes is a simple and cost-effective approach. In this paper, we propose an optimized-punching approach that leverages elastic buckling to manufacture high-precision solar parabolic trough concentrators. Our approach involves punching optimized holes in the flat sheet to finely tailor its stiffness using an improved Particle Swarm Optimization-Genetic Algorithm. This allows us to produce a perfect parabolic shape by controlling the chord length with a position rod or cable. To validate our approach, we used interactive Finite Element Analysis and ray tracing software-LightTools, as well as sunlight concentrating experiments, and achieved a concentration ratio of up to 145.16. This concept enables easy fabrication and shipping of flat mirror elements to field sites, which can be assembled into parabolic trough concentrators, offering potentially attractive cost reductions and highly efficient solar energy solutions © 2023, The Authors. Thermochemical conversions are pathways for biomass utilization to produce various value-added energy and chemical products. For the development of novel thermochemical conversion technologies, an accurate understanding of the reaction performance and kinetics is essential. Given the diversity of the thermal analysis techniques, it is necessary to understand the features and limitations of the reactors, ensuring that the selected thermal analysis reactor meets the specific need for reaction characterization. This paper provides a critical overview of the thermal analysis reactors based on the following perspectives: 1) gas flow conditions in the reactor, 2) particle’s external and internal heat and mass transfer limitations, 3) heating rate, 4) temperature distribution, 5) nascent char production and reaction, 6) liquid feeding and atomization, 7) simultaneous sampling and analyzing of bed materials, and 8) reacting atmosphere change. Finally, prospects and future research directions in the development of analysis techniques are proposed.

Continuous glucose monitoring(CGM) technology has grown rapidly to track real-time blood glucose levels and trends with improved sensor accuracy. The ease of use and wide availability of CGM will facilitate safe and effective decision making for diabetes management. Here, we developed an attention-based deep learning model, CGMformer, pretrained on a well-controlled and diverse corpus of CGM data to represent individual's intrinsic metabolic state and enable clinical applications. During pretraining, CGMformer encodes glucose dynamics including glucose level, fluctuation, hyperglycemia, and hypoglycemia into latent space with self-supervised learning. It shows generalizability in imputing glucose value across five external datasets with different populations and metabolic states(MAE = 3.7 mg/d L). We then fine-tuned CGMformer towards a diverse panel of downstream tasks in the screening of diabetes and its complications using task-specific data, which demonstrated a consistently boosted predictive accuracy over direct fine-tuning on a single task(AUROC = 0.914 for type 2 diabetes(T2D) screening and 0.741 for complication screening). By learning an intrinsic representation of an individual's glucose dynamics,CGMformer classifies non-diabetic individuals into six clusters with elevated T2D risks, and identifies a specific cluster with lean body-shape but high risk of glucose metabolism disorders, which is overlooked by traditional glucose measurements. Furthermore, CGMformer achieves high accuracy in predicting an individual's postprandial glucose response with dietary modelling(Pearson correlation coefficient = 0.763)and helps personalized dietary recommendations. Overall, CGMformer pretrains a transformer neural network architecture to learn an intrinsic representation by borrowing information from a large amount of daily glucose profiles, and demonstrates predictive capabilities fine-tuned towards a broad range of downstream applications, holding promise for the ear

Aiming at solving the problem of insufficient plunge depth by the deformation of friction stir welding robots, this paper presents a method for predicting and compensating for the end deformation of friction stir welding robots. Firstly, the numerical model of FSW is established using DEFORM-3D software, then the axial force on the welding tool is obtained. Subsequently, the robot stiffness model is established based on the screw theory to realize the prediction of robot deformation in the workspace. Finally, a deformation compensation method based on the mirror principle is proposed to realize the compensation of the welding trajectory. Taking the 10 mm AA6061 aluminium alloy FSW as an example, the compensation method proposed in this paper is verified by using computer simulation. The results show that the stiffness model established in this paper can accurately predict the end deformation of the robot. The maximum plunge depth deviation of the compensation method proposed in this paper is reduced by 95.17% compared with the uncompensated case, which proves the effectiveness of the proposed compensation method. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

Metamaterials with simple artificial topological properties made from industrially produced single-phase materials have extraordinary innovation and *** this paper,we investigated wave propagation characteristics of a hexastarchiral lattice metamaterial with periodic assemblies and used the finite element(FE)method to study the band gap ***,in order to understand the mechanism of band gaps,we discussed the mode shapes of unit cells and found that the bending of the ligament and the overall rotation have a high correlation with the generation of omnidirectional band *** relationships bet ween geometric parameters and band gap properties have also been systematically studied,which demonstrated that the band gaps of the proposed metamaterial could be reasonably predicted through the evolution of geometric ***,the transmission characteristics of finite sandwich panel structures composed of periodic unit cells were calculated to verify the correctness of the band gap simulation results,which proved that the proposed artificial metastructure has potential application value in vibration and noise reduction projects.
