In addressing challenges such as the speed change of planetary gearbox (PG) during operation and the complexity in extracting fault features, an order demodulation analysis method based on order tracking (OT) and variational mode decomposition (VMD) is proposed. Non-stationary time domain signals are transformed into relatively stable angular domain signals through angular resampling. The intrinsic mode function (IMF) is obtained by demodulation of the angular multi-component signal using the VMD method. The instantaneous order of a proper IMF is calculated via Hilbert Transform. The sensitive single component is selected by matching the meshing order and the central order of the instantaneous order. Finally, the amplitude of the characteristic order components extracted from the instantaneous order spectrum was used as features and Support Vector Machine (SVM) was employed for the classification of four different conditions in the sun gear. Comparing the results of the proposed method with Deep Neural Networks (DNN) and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), the experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in diagnosing PGs under non-stationary conditions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The construction of high-altitude UHV converter stations faces the primary challenge of determining the safety distance required for the external insulation within the converter station valve hall to surrounding objects, and the long-gap safety distance between the valve hall bushing terminal fittings and the ground or the walls directly determines the size of the valve hall. This paper sets up a simulation model of pm 800kV converter station valve-side bushings to the ground, to the front wall, and to the side wall to study the electric field distribution characteristics of the bushing fittings, and provides the safety distance for the bushing terminal fittings to the ground and to the wall. Meanwhile, in the Qinghai high-altitude test hall at an altitude of 2300 meters, operational surge discharge tests were carried out on the comprehensive gap between the valve-side bushing terminal fittings and the ground and the wall. The curve of the 50% operational surge discharge voltage U50 versus the power index of the different air gap distances d was fitted, and the discharge characteristics were analyzed. © 2024 IEEE.

DasAtom: A Divide-and-Shuttle Atom Approach to Quantum Circuit Transformation

Neutral atom (NA) quantum systems are emerging as a leading platform for quantum computation, offering superior or competitive qubit count and gate fidelity compared to superconducting circuits and ion traps. However, the unique features of NA devices, such as long-range interactions, long qubit coherence time, and the ability to physically move qubits, present distinct challenges for quantum circuit compilation. In this paper, we introduce DasAtom, a novel divide-and-shuttle atom approach designed to optimise quantum circuit transformation for NA devices by leveraging these capabilities. DasAtom partitions circuits into subcircuits, each associated with a qubit mapping that allows all gates within the subcircuit to be directly executed. The algorithm then shuttles atoms to transition seamlessly from one mapping to the next, enhancing both execution efficiency and overall fidelity. For a 30-qubit Quantum Fourier Transform (QFT), DasAtom achieves a 415.8x improvement in fidelity over the move-based algorithm Enola and a 10.6x improvement over the SWAP-based algorithm Tetris. Notably, this improvement is expected to increase exponentially with the number of qubits, positioning DasAtom as a highly promising solution for scaling quantum computation on NA platforms. © 1982-2012 IEEE.

In the current smart warehouse system, AGVs need to complete goods transport tasks efficiently, requiring curve-less and conflict-free path planning in multi-AGV case to improve efficiency of the whole system. To solve above problems, based on an improved A star algorithm to generate initial paths, this paper adds an extra turning cost on paths to reduce curves. Then two kinds of timewindow detection are proposed to check if collision happens between AGVs. To avoid collision, we develop three path replanning methods to search more feasible paths efficiently according to task priority principal. The simulation experiments indicate that improved A star algorithm has an advantage in reducing curves in paths, and the timewindow-based method is capable of multi-AGV cases, realizing conflict-free path planning. © 2024 IEEE.

Modular multilevel converters(MMC) based high-voltage DC(HVDC) transmission is widely used for offshore wind farm integration. In some projects, the DC smoothing reactor on the DC side of the HVDC system are cancelled due to cost and space limitations, and the effects of that on the small-signal stability issues of the MMC-HVDC system in the sub-synchronous range will be studied in this paper. Firstly, the effect of DC smoothing reactor on the single input and single output(SISO) admittance of MMC is discussed, then the sub-synchronous oscillation propagation characteristics of the MMC are studied, and the conclusions are interlinked, furthermore, an oscillation propagation mitigation control strategy based on the propagation characteristics is proposed in this paper, which can replace the DC smoothing reactor to some extent. Finally, a case is studied in a typical offshore wind farm integration system in Matlab/Simulink. © 2023 IEEE.

The southeastern China(SEC)forest is an important terrestrial biospheric carbon sink in the global carbon cycle,with its total net ecosystem exchange(NEE)accounting for about 3.2%of the global forest *** prevailing atmospheric intraseasonal oscillations(ISOs)over East Asia strongly modulate climatic conditions over the SEC during spring and summer,thus leading to significant ISOs in the NEE of the SEC *** atmospheric ISOs show strong seasonality,this study examined the distinctive impacts of atmospheric ISOs on the NEE of the SEC forest between spring and *** spring,the vertical coupling of 10–30-d atmospheric ISOs in the lower and upper troposphere leads to strong 10‒30-d ISOs of solar radiation and temperature over the *** 10‒30-d ISOs of solar radiation and temperature further result in the 10‒30-d ISOs of gross primary productivity(GPP)and terrestrial ecosystem respiration(TER).With the covariation in GPP and TER,the NEE of the SEC forest exhibits significant 10‒30-d *** contrast,the intraseasonal variations in climatic conditions over the SEC are associated with the 15‒60-d tropical atmospheric ISO during *** the induced 15‒60-d ISO of solar radiation leads to that of GPP,the induced 15‒60-d ISO of temperature is small and less effective;thus,the 15‒60-d ISO of NEE mainly originates from that of GPP.

Compared with traditional antennas, phased array antennas with key structural components such as multi Vilvadi oscillators and grid plates have advantages such as high gain and high directional ability. Due to the need for a large number of structural components in phased array antennas, this will affect the performance and assembly accuracy of the assembled antenna. How to quickly and reasonably provide an assembly error distribution plan is the key to improving the performance of phased array antennas. This paper proposes a database based on geometric feature extraction of contact surfaces and finite element analysis of contact stress to obtain an optimized assembly plan for key components of phased array antennas, which requires the use of a large number of key components. Considering the real-time updated assembly data, a reasonable assembly path planning method was planned to avoid assembly interference. The simulation results show that this method can significantly improve assembly efficiency and provide a reasonable assembly error distribution scheme. © 2024 IEEE.

Latent space active learning with message passing neural network: The case of HfO2

Due to their excellent abilities, machine learning potential models have shown significant promise in accurately constructing potential energy surfaces for various materials. As a data-driven approach, however, the training of these models necessitates carefully curated datasets to be effective. In this paper, we propose an active learning scheme for message passing neural networks (MPNNs). This method leverages the latent distance in the descriptor space, inherently generated by MPNNs, to quantify model uncertainty. Additionally, we employ CUR matrix decomposition for sample selection to reduce data redundancy. We demonstrate the application of this method on HfO2, a complex ferroelectric material with many phases, by investigating its static properties, phonon spectrum, and notably, structural phase transitions. We also demonstrate the reliability of latent distance as a model uncertainty metric. Utilizing latent space distance, the proposed method enriches active learning frameworks for machine learning potentials, providing an efficient alternative to traditional methods, such as the “query by committee” approach.

With the growing application of silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFETs, the instability issues of the threshold voltage have attracted significant attention. However, there is limited research on the recovery performance of the threshold voltage of SiC MOSFETs. In this paper, the SiC MOSFET short-term threshold voltage recovery was experimentally studied. It is found that the short-term recovery properties of threshold voltage are affected not only by the gate bias but also by the bias time. The research results not only provide a reference for threshold voltage measurement but also improve the understanding of threshold voltage instability.

The increase in frequency and intensity of Extreme High-temperature Events(EHEs)over Central-Eastern China(CEC)in recent decades has severely impacted social development and *** observation and reanalysis datasets,this study explores the effect of the East Asian subtropical westerly jet stream(EAJ)on the CEC EHEs for the summers spanning 1979–*** its general relative location to the right side of the upper-level jet stream exit region,CEC would theoretically suffer more EHEs with a stronger and northwardly-shifted EAJ in summer due to the likelihood of abnormal subsidence induced by the ***,such an EAJ–EHE connection has been unstable over the past four decades but has displayed an evident interdecadal *** the late 1990s,the interannual variation of the EAJ was manifested mainly by its meridional displacement in the northeastern part of East Asia;thus,the atmospheric responses were essentially located to the east of CEC,exerting less of an influence on the CEC ***,since the late 1990s,the EAJ variation has featured an intensity change in its center over the northwest portion of the CEC,which has resulted in a westward shift in atmospheric responses to cover the CEC ***,the EAJ could potentially affect the summer CEC EHEs during 2000–*** findings offer support for an in-depth understanding of the formation mechanisms of extreme weather/climate events of this nature and thus provide a scientific reference for seasonal climate predictions.
