Language-conditioned robot behavior plays a vital role in executing complex tasks by associating human commands or instructions with perception and actions. The ability to compose long-horizon tasks based on unconstrained language instructions necessitates the acquisition of a diverse set of general-purpose skills. However, acquiring inherent primitive skills in a coupled and long-horizon environment without external rewards or human supervision presents significant challenges. In this paper, we evaluate the relationship between skills and language instructions from a mathematical perspective, employing two forms of mutual information within the framework of language-conditioned policy learning. To maximize the mutual information between language and skills in an unsupervised manner, we propose an end-to-end imitation learning approach known as Language Conditioned Skill Discovery (LCSD). Specifically, we utilize vector quantization to learn discrete latent skills and leverage skill sequences of trajectories to reconstruct high-level semantic instructions. Through extensive experiments on language-conditioned robotic navigation and manipulation tasks, encompassing BabyAI, LORel, and CALVIN, we demonstrate the superiority of our method over prior works. Our approach exhibits enhanced generalization capabilities towards unseen tasks, improved skill interpretability, and notably higher rates of task completion success. Causes of Winter Persistent Extreme Cold Events in Northeastern China

Persistent(5-day or longer)extreme cold events(ECEs)over northeastern China during the boreal winter of 1979–2020 are investigated using daily minimum temperature(Tmin)from the China Meteorological Data *** extreme cooling area and intensity indices associated with the ECEs exhibit a dominant 10–40-day periodicity,indicating a close link with atmospheric intraseasonal oscillations(ISOs).The ECEs are categorized into W-and *** the former,the low-frequency cooling associated with the ISO first penetrates into the western boundary of the northeastern China domain and later occupies the entire domain at its peak *** upper-tropospheric circulation associated with this type is characterized by a northwest–southeast-oriented Rossby wave train,expanding from the Ural Mountains to the western Pacific *** the latter,the cooling invades the northern boundary first and then penetrates into the entire *** upper tropospheric precursory signal associated with this type is a zonally oriented negative geopotential height anomaly,which slowly moves southward.A downward-propagating signal is observed in the stratospheric potential vorticity field prior to the peak cooling,implying a possible stratospheric *** addition to the W-and N-types,ECEs can also occur in a localized region near either at the northern or southern boundary of the domain.

Rare earth metal based DES assisted the VPO synthesis for n-butane selective oxidation toward maleic anhydride

Deep eutectic solvents(DESs) are now considered a new class of ionic liquid analogs that have been generously used in various ***, vanadium phosphorus oxide(VPO) catalysts are synthesized in combination with a deep eutectic solvent containing rare earth metal(rE-DES), and their catalytic performance in n-butane selective oxidation to produce maleic anhydride(MA) is evaluated. The rE-DES is produced from the interaction of choline chloride(ChCl) and rare earth metal salts(Cerium, Europium, Lanthanum, and Samarium metal salt)(ChCl:rE = 1:0.5–1:3) under mild conditions. It was found that DESs served as structural modifiers and electronic promoters during VPO synthesis. It regulated the chemical state of the catalyst surface, such as the vanadium valence state, acid-base properties, and ratios of V^(4+)/V^(5+),Lat–O/Sur–O and P/V. Various characterization techniques, such as FT-IR, DSC, XRD, SEM, EDS, TEM, Raman, TGA, NH3-TPD, and XPS,were used to examine its physical and chemical characteristics. These characteristics were correlated with the catalytic performance. The VPO catalyst modified by rE-DES showed a significant enhancement of n-butane conversion and MA selectivity while suppressing the selectivity of CO and CO_(2)as well as the CO/CO_(2)ratio compared to the unpromoted VPO catalyst. Especially for Ce-DES-VPO, it increased the n-butane conversion and MA mass yield up to approximately 11% and 10%, respectively. In addition, we evaluated the catalytic performance under different activation atmospheres.

Theaflavins ameliorate insulin resistance and anxiety-like behavior induced by propionate combined with high-fat diet

Insulin resistance is a key pathological process in the development of type II diabetes， which can also lead to depression， anxiety and other symptoms. With the accelerated pace of life， food with high-energy and additives is becoming more and more common in people's diet. Propionate is a naturally existing short-chain fatty acid salt that has been widely used as a food preservative， but studies have found that low concentrations of propionate can induce insulin resistance. Theaflavins (TFs) are characteristic components of black tea， which have the biological activity of hypoglycemic and lipid-lowering. In the present study， we used propionate combined with high-fat diet to induce insulin resistance in mice and treated them with theaflavins. The results showed that propionate could aggravate insulin resistance and anxiety induced by high-fat diet in mice. TFs alleviated insulin resistance and anxiety induced by propionate combined with high-fat diet by improving the disorder of metabolic gene expression and inflammation in the adipose and liver tissue， as well as neuroinflammation in the brain. Our study suggests that the food additive propionate combined with a high-fat diet may be harmful to organismal health. As a natural drug， TFs have the potential to alleviate insulin resistance induced by propionate combined with high-fat diet.

Carbody sway behaviour of railway vehicles due to track irregularity from rail alternate side wear

Track irregularity from rail alternate side wear is manifested as uneven rail wear waveforms alternating in the left and right rails with equal intervals,which will cause carbody sway behaviour of railway vehicles and greatly influences the passenger *** this work,the carbody sway behaviour and mechanism due to track irregularity from rail alternate side wear and possible solutions to this issue were studied by the field testing and numerical calculation ***,the carbody sway of an urban rail transit train is introduced with full-scale field tests,through which the rail alternate side wear is characterized and the formatted track irregularity are ***,multibody vehicle dynamic models are developed to reproduce the carbody sway behaviour induced by the track irregularity from the rail alternate side *** creep forces acting on the wheel and rail are preliminarily discussed to study the influence of the carbody sway on the wear of the wheel flange and the rail ***,some potential solutions,*** the damping ratio of carbody rigid mode and rail grinding,are proposed to relieve this *** is concluded that an increased damping ratio of the carbody mode can alleviate the carbody sway and wheel–rail interactions,while properly maintaining track conditions can improve the vehicle performance.

Optimal biaxial prestretch ratios of soft dielectric elastomer actuators for maximal voltage-induced displacement

Prestretch plays an indispensable role in programming the voltage-induced deformation of dielectric elastomer actuators(DEAs).However,lacking rational design methods,the level of prestretch is usually determined through time-consuming experiments and trial-and-error *** this paper,we aim to quantitatively determine the optimal biaxial prestretch ratios for maximizing the voltage-induced displacement of *** on the Lagrange method and adjoint sensitivity analysis,we obtain the derivative of the displacement field with respect to the principal prestretch ratios,in which the nonlinearities and complex electromechanical coupling of DEAs are rigorously taken into *** derivative information allows for performing gradient-based optimization at a high convergence *** propose a comprehensive optimization framework connecting the nonlinear finite element analysis and sensitivity analysis to iteratively identify the optimal prestretch *** validate our method on two classical types of DEAs,i.e.,planar DEAs with fixed boundaries and free-standing three-dimensional dielectric elastomer minimum energy structures(DEMES).The simulation and experiment results both show that remarkable improvements in concerned displacements are obtained compared with the non-optimized designs.

Raman spectroscopy based detection of corrosive sulfur in transformer oil:Method and application

In order to overcome the shortcomings of traditional methods for corrosive sulfur detection in transformer oil,Raman spectroscopy based detection is proposed in this *** widely concerned corrosive sulfur,Dibenzyl Disulfide(DBDS),was chosen as the characteristic molecule to be detected.A series of oil samples with different DBDS concentrations was *** these samples were extracted by 1-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone for DBDS enrichment to improve the sensitivity of *** Raman spectra of samples were obtained,and a linear model was established by analysing the relationship between the characteristic peak and the DBDS *** limit of detection reached 7.98 mg/*** determining the DBDS concentrations causing sulfur corrosion,the sulfur weight content on the copper conductor surface was measured by Scanning Electron Microscope-Energy Dispersive Spectrometer after a corrosion *** results show that the corrosion limitation highly depends on the type of transformer oil,and the Raman spectroscopy detection can meet the limit of detection requirement in practical ***,an on-site oil sample and five Lab-made samples were detected via our new method and the current Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry based *** is found that there is no significant divergence between the measurement *** good applicability was also demonstrated in onsite sample test.
