Hyperspectral image classification (HSIC) is a rapidly developing field that utilizes deep learning methods. However, the reliance on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for spectral-spatial feature extraction presents certain limitations. Specifically, the use of the fixed-position convolutional kernels in CNNs hinders their ability to fully capture the spectral information around the spatial central pixel, thereby overlooking critical differences between features. To address this issue, we proposed a decoupled image- and frequency-domain spectral-spatial framework for HSIC. Our method incorporated image- and frequency-domain-based multiscale learnable convolutional attention to refine the differentiating features of the different feature distributions. Additionally, we designed a novel frequency-domain information enhancement module to extract the structural shape and texture details under the semantic constraints of the frequency phase, complementing the image domain to improve the extracted feature maps. Furthermore, we introduced a simple and efficient hierarchical feature representation module to effectively extract both local and global information from the fused features. Experimental results on three open datasets and a practical hyperspectral image of the Gaofen-5 satellite demonstrate that our method outperforms other state-of-the-art HSIC methods. © 2023, The Authors. In eddy current non-destructive testing (EC NDT), the electrical conductivity and magnetic permeability of the sample are two fundamental factors influencing the eddy current signal. The coupling effect between the electrical conductivity and magnetic permeability of metallic materials not only reduces the accuracy of the eddy current signal but also affects the sensitivity of magnetic permeability measurements. In recent years, the conductivity invariant phenomenon (CIP) has been demonstrated to effectively eliminate the influence of electrical conductivity in magnetic permeability detection. Therefore, this study employs the finite element method (FEM) to systematically analyze the effects of magnetic permeability variations and probe parameters, including excitation signal frequency, coil turns, inner diameter, and outer diameter, on the CIP. We find that magnetic permeability variations affect the reference value of CIP but have a negligible impact on the depth of the conductivity invariant point. Additionally, optimizing probe parameters such as excitation frequency and coil turns can significantly enhance CIP performance in practical applications. The results reveal the mechanism of magnetic permeability changes that influence CIP and provide a theoretical foundation for optimizing probe design in future CIP applications. This study aims to enhance the stability and applicability of CIP, providing theoretical support for its further promotion and widespread application in engineering practices.

In this work, the superconducting electrodynamic suspension integrated with the evacuated tube is proposed. Taking the Maglev MLX01-02 as an exemplary design, the structure specifications of tube are determined based on electromagnetic interaction among the induced current generated in tube and onboard superconducting magnets. The results reveal that the radius and thickness of metal tube are customed to 3.5 m and 40 mm, adopting stainless steel. This work can newly guide design and application of evacuated tube transportation system.

Weakening s-d orbital hybridization of metallic iridium by tungsten atoms for acidic water splitting

To economically realize proton electrolyte membrane water splitting technology, stable and high-performance oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalyst is significantly demanded. In this work, we invite tungsten atoms to metallic iridium (Ir) to weaken s-d hybridization of Ir-Ir bond due to the higher electronegativity accepting electron from Ir atoms;as a result, the adsorbed O* species become electrophilic favorable for the nucleophilic attack by H2O leading to 22 % decrement in energy barrier for the formation of OOH* species. Therefore, iridium-tungsten (IrW) electrocatalyst exhibits 3.7-fold higher turnover frequency (TOF) than metallic Ir at overpotential of 370 mV in acidic OER catalysis. Moreover, stable OER performance is recorded due to the high cohesive energy of tungsten atoms. Additionally, TOF of IrW electrocatalyst reaches 10.1 s−1 at overpotential of 100 mV in acidic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) test, 7.6-time higher than Pt/C and metallic Ir. IrW electrocatalyst only needs 1.52 V to attain 10 mA cm−2 in acidic overall water splitting. © 2022 Elsevier B.V.

The user’s requirements for product design include descriptiveness, dynamics, and personalization. The insufficient mapping of User requirement knowledge seriously affects the accuracy of designers’ grasp of design ideas and design knowledge. For this issue, we proposed a design knowledge perception and representation method for user requirements. Design knowledge from user requirement question and answer (Q&A) was extracted, including design theme, design content, and design evaluation to improve communication efficiency between designers and users. A representation method was proposed for User requirement knowledge based on the Q&A of the user’s initiating requirements and the product provider’s solutions. A design requirement framework for expressing design intent was proposed by perceiving dialogue context. Furthermore, the rule of design requirement was derived based on attributes in User requirement knowledge for designers. Finally, the knowledge perception, representation method, and knowledge framework of air conditioners were analyzed to determine the knowledge rules. The results indicated that the knowledge perception and representation method proposed in this study accurately reflected User requirement knowledge and provided sufficient knowledge for product design. At the same time, the extracted design requirement was shared among different decision-makers, providing a theoretical basis for group decision-making.

Study on the Carbonated Water Erosion Characteristics and Mechanism of Tunnel Lining Cement-Based Materials in Karst Areas

This study aims to address the issue of erosion in primary and secondary lining concrete caused by carbonated water in highway and railway tunnels passing through karst areas. In this study, the dynamic erosion condition of carbonated water in karst areas was simulated. The erosion depths, microstructures, phase migrations and pore structures of various tunnel lining cement-based materials were measured. The leaching of Ca2+ during erosion was analyzed, and the effect of the Ca/Si molar ratio in the hydration products on the resistance to carbonated water erosion was discussed based on thermodynamic calculations. The results indicate that carbonated water erosion led to a rough and porous surface on the specimens, accompanied by a decrease in portlandite and CaCO3 content, an increase in porosity, and an enlargement of pore size. The model-building concrete with C-S-H gel and Ca(OH)2 as the main hydration product is more susceptible to erosion by carbonated water than shotcrete with ettringite as the main hydration product. Additionally, the cement-based materials with higher portlandite content exhibit weaker resistance to carbonated water erosion. The carbonated water erosion is caused by chemical reactions driven by Gibbs free energy and physical dissolution. The erosion reactions proceed more spontaneously and to a greater extent when the Ca/Si molar ratio in the phases is higher. Adding silicon-rich mineral admixtures can improve the resistance of cement-based materials to carbonated water erosion. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In this paper, a proposed inductor design method with toroidal powder core is presented to minimize the total power loss of boost converter. Losses in the inductor, capacitor and semiconductors are considered. The total power loss function of the boost converter as an objective function is calculated iteratively by using the genetic algorithm(GA) in MATLAB. Then the optimal core size, permeability and number of turns can be obtained, which minimize the total power loss. Finally, the experimental results verify the proposed inductor design method is feasible by comparing with the general inductor design method in an 800 W boost converter operating at 50 kHz.
