The inverter nonlinearity compensation has been studied by the researchers widely, however, due to the poor polarity detection ability of the discrete control system and unavoidable noises from current feedback, unideal compensation happens when the motor speed is low and the load is small. In order to tackle with this problem. This paper presents an inverter nonlinearity compensation method in permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives. The overall process is achieved by voltage signal injection, the only requirements are stator resistance and the maximum current of a given motor. The corresponding voltage errors are saved in look up table (LUT) and being used together with field-oriented control (FOC). In addition, a comparative study when using phase current feedback, phase current reference and phase voltage reference for compensation voltages look-up in the already established LUT is conducted. A 750-W voltage-source inverter PMSM drive controlled by the FOC algorithm is used for experiment verification, the results show that the phase current reference is the most proper signal for compensation voltages look-up, especially around the current zero-crossing condition. The comparative study in this paper can be easily applied in the real industrial application with no hardware introduction and very little algorithm change.

Visual tracking is a popular topic in computer vision, which has broad application prospects in military guidance, aerospace, video surveillance and analysis, medical diagnosis, intelligent robotics, human-computer interaction, and etc. Current tracking algorithms perform poorly in specific scenes, such as a target in condition of weak light. Thus, a pose tracking method based on visual information is put forward, to implement real-time visual tracking in weak light. More precisely, in proposed method, target pose parameters are known at the first frame in a given video sequence, additionally, edge features and point features are taken as visual features to improve the realtime of tracking. The experimental results demonstrate that our approach has better real-time performance of tracking in weak light. © 2019 IEEE.

This paper studies the video of text with large field of view, solves the problem of text acquisition when a single frame cannot obtain complete text information. This paper proposes a method for acquiring video text panoramas, which automatically processes video text content by natural scene text positioning, text tracking, image stitching and other methods. First, the text is detected using the YOLO target detection framework. Second, use ECO tracking method to keep track of text. Finally, the local matching and global stitching method are used to obtain a text panorama. Experiments show that the proposed method can automatically process video and obtain high-resolution panoramic images with text parts, which greatly improves the text processing speed and effect of video content. © 2019 IEEE.

The minimally invasive surgical robot greatly improved surgical OR efficiency, and surgeon manipulates the surgical instruments through master-slave control under the guidance of laparoscope vision. As a mapping of the surgeon's hand-eye coordination, the coordination between surgical instruments and laparoscope has an important impact on the surgical efficiency and the ergonomics. In this paper, a novel hand-eye coordination algorithm is proposed for the robot -assisted minimally invasive surgery (RMIS). Firstly, a novel cascade-calibration (CC) algorithm structure is proposed to determine the pose relationship between the robot laparoscope arm coordinate system and the robot instruments arm coordinate system. A hand-eye coordination algorithm is also proposed, which provides accurate master-slave control and improves the surgical operation room (OR) efficiency. We validate the proposed algorithm through two experiments with our minimally invasive surgical robot system. Our experiments demonstrate that the proposed method is competitively effective to induce the hand-eye coordination for the RMIS. © 2019 IEEE.

This paper explores the digital modeling and robotic reproduction of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) massage techniques. We adopt an adaptive admittance control algorithm to optimize force and position control, ensuring safety and comfort. The paper analyzes key TCM techniques from kinematic and dynamic perspectives, and designs robotic systems to reproduce these massage techniques. The results demonstrate that the robot successfully mimics the characteristics of TCM massage, providing a foundation for integrating traditional therapy with modern robotics and expanding assistive therapy applications. Negative Poisson's ratio (NPR) is of great interest due to the novel applications in lots of fields. Films are the most commonly used form in practical applications, which involves multiple layers. However, the effect of interlayer interactions on the NPR is still unclear. In this study, based on first principles calculations, we systematically investigate the effect of interlayer interactions on the NPR by comparably studying single-layer graphene, few-layer graphene, h-BN, and graphene-BN heterostructure. It is found that they almost have the same geometry-strain response. Consequently, the NPR in bilayer graphene, triple-layer graphene, and graphene-BN heterostructure are consistent with that in single-layer graphene and h-BN. The fundamental mechanism lies in that the response to strain of the orbital coupling are consistent under the effect of interlayer interactions. The deep understanding of the NPR with the effect of interlayer interactions as achieved in this study is beneficial for the future design and development of micro-/nanoscale electromechanical devices with novel functions based on nanostructures. © 2022, CC BY-NC-SA.

In the field of inspection and testing, it is necessary to manually fill a large number of test record forms, and the digital information accounts for a large proportion in the record forms. For the purpose of automatic and accurate recognition of handwritten form data, this paper proposes a handwritten digit recognition method based on Harris corner detection algorithm and convolutional neural network(CNN). The Harris corner detection algorithm is used to identify the positioning marks in the form image, which determine the possible fill-in positions of handwritten digits. Through a 14-layer CNN model, and using the ReLu function as the excitation function, the handwritten digit features of the target area in the image are recognized. The experimental results show that the average recognition accuracy rate of this method on the test set can reach 98.14%. So a technical solution for intelligent recognition of record forms is thus provided. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

ScaleDreamer: Scalable Text-to-3D Synthesis with Asynchronous Score Distillation

By leveraging the text-to-image diffusion priors, score distillation can synthesize 3D contents without paired text-3D training data. Instead of spending hours of online optimization per text prompt, recent studies have been focused on learning a text-to-3D generative network for amortizing multiple text-3D relations, which can synthesize 3D contents in seconds. However, existing score distillation methods are hard to scale up to a large amount of text prompts due to the difficulties in aligning pretrained diffusion prior with the distribution of rendered images from various text prompts. Current state-of-the-arts such as Variational Score Distillation finetune the pretrained diffusion model to minimize the noise prediction error so as to align the distributions, which are however unstable to train and will impair the model’s comprehension capability to numerous text prompts. Based on the observation that the diffusion models tend to have lower noise prediction errors at earlier timesteps, we propose Asynchronous Score Distillation (ASD), which minimizes the noise prediction error by shifting the diffusion timestep to earlier ones. ASD is stable to train and can scale up to 100k prompts. It reduces the noise prediction error without changing the weights of pre-trained diffusion model, thus keeping its strong comprehension capability to prompts. We conduct extensive experiments across different 2D diffusion models, including Stable Diffusion and MVDream, and text-to-3D generators, including Hyper-iNGP, 3DConv-Net and Triplane-Transformer. The results demonstrate ASD’s effectiveness in stable 3D generator training, high-quality 3D content synthesis, and its superior prompt-consistency, especially under large prompt corpus.
