Neuromorphic computing targets realizing biomimetic or intelligence systems capable of processing abundant tasks in parallel analogously to our brain,and organic electrochemical transistors(OECTs)that rely on the mixed ionic-electronic synergistic couple possess significant similarity to biological systems for implementing synaptic ***,the lack of reliable stretchability for synaptic OECTs,where mechanical deformation occurs,leads to consequent degradation of electrical ***,we demonstrate stretchable synaptic OECTs by adopting a three-dimensional poly(3-hexylthiophene)(P3HT)/styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene(SEBS)blend porous elastic film for neuromorphic *** architecture shows the full capability to emulate biological synaptic *** the accumulated layer numbers of porous film enables tunable OECT output and hysteresis,resulting in transition in ***,with a trilayer porous film,large-scale conductance and hysteresis are endorsed for efficient mimicking of memory-dependent synapse *** from the interconnected three-dimensional porous structures,corresponding stretchable synaptic OECTs exhibit excellent mechanical robustness when stretched at a 30%strain,and maintain reliable electrical characteristics after 500 stretching ***,near-ideal weight updates with near-zero nonlinearities,symmetricity in long-term potentiation(LTP)and depression,and applications for image simulation are *** work paves a universal design strategy toward highperformance stretchable neuromorphic computing architecture and could be extended to other flexible/stretchable electronics.

Fast sensitivity control method with differentiable optics

Differentiable optics integrates optical design with image processing, enabling joint optimization of optical systems and neural networks through task-specific evaluation metrics. However, controlling lens tolerance sensitivity during optimization remains an unresolved challenge, often resulting in significant performance degradation due to manufacturing and assembly tolerances. In this work, we propose a fast sensitivity control method tailored for different optical models. Our approach addresses sensitivity from three key aspects: tolerance sensitivity, uniformity of tolerance degradation, and symmetry of tolerance boundaries. Using the wavefront-focusing method, we enhance optimization stability by compensating for defocus and focusing the evaluation on the optimal image plane. Additionally, the optical path differential method eliminates the need for repeated ray tracing of perturbed systems, significantly reducing computational costs. Experimental results with two advanced smartphone lenses, a wide-angle and a telephoto lens, validate the effectiveness of our method. This work provides a practical solution for desensitization optimization in differentiable optics, offering new possibilities for optical desensitization and joint design in computational imaging tasks. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group under the terms of the Optica Open Access Publishing Agreement.

Using nanocatalysts to catalyze water electrolysis for hydrogen production is an ideal solution to address the energy *** most well-adopted fabrication methods for nanocatalysts are tube furnace annealing,Hydrothermal method,etc.,hardly satisfying the trade-off among coarsening,dispersity,and particle size due to mutual ***,a universal,ultrafast and facile cellulose nanometer whiskers-high temperature shock（CNWHTS） method was reported for fabricating a library of ultrafine metal nanoparticles with uniform dispersion and narrow size *** metal-anchor functional groups in CNW（i.e.,-OH and-COOH） and the characteristics of the HTS method for ultrafast heating and powerful quenching synergistically contribute to the successful synthesis of metal *** an initial demonstration,the as-prepared Pt nanocatalyst(η10 mA cm-2=51.8 mV) shows more excellent catalytic hydrogen evolution reaction（HER） performance than the Pt catalyst prepared in the tubular furnace(η10 mA cm-2=169.4 mV).This rapid and universal CNW-HTS method can pave the way for nanomanufacturing to produce high-quality metal nanoparticles,thereby expanding applications of energy conversion and electrocatalysis.

Exploring advanced platinum (Pt)-based electrocatalysts is vital for the widespread implementation of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). Morphology control represents an effective strategy to optimize the behavior of Pt catalysts. In this work, an attempt is made to comprehensively review the effect of morphology control on the catalytic behavior of catalysts in the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). First, the fundamental physicochemical changes behind morphology control, including exposing more active sites, generating appropriate lattice strains, and forming different crystalline surfaces, are highlighted. Then, recently developed strategies for tuning the morphologies of electrocatalysts, including core-shell structures, hollow structures, nanocages, nanowires, and nanosheets, are comprehensively summarized. Finally, an outlook on the future development of morphology control of Pt catalysts is presented, including rational design strategies, advanced in situ characterization techniques, novel artificial intelligence, and mechanical learning. This work is intended to provide valuable insights into designing the morphology and technological innovation of efficient redox electrocatalysts in fuel cells.

Effect of gamma-ray irradiation on electrical conductivity of polypropylene composite for nuclear cable insulation

In this paper,the effect of gamma-ray irradiation on the electrical conductivity of polypropylene(PP)composites has been *** samples are prepared using PP and styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene elastomer with contents ranging from 0 wt%to 50 wt%,and exposed to Cobalt-60 gamma irradiation,with a dose from 0 to 250 *** conductivities at different temperatures and trap distributions are measured to observe the deterioration of insulation *** microstructure of the sample is estimated using differential scanning calorimetry,X-ray diffraction,thermogravimetric analysis and a scanning electron *** obtained results demonstrate a correlation between the increase in electrical conductivity and the elevation in both total dose and *** 250 kGy,the trap distribution tends to become shallower,accompanied by a decrease in crystallinity,melting and decomposition temperatures of the *** PP composite exhibits better stability against irradiation and thermal effects,primarily due to the cross-linked structures formed by irradiation.

Anti-asynchrony output regulation for switched systems under switching-Q-learning event-triggering against DoS attacks

This paper proposes a secure output regulation(SOR) scheme for network switched systems(NSSs) experiencing severely unstable dynamics(SUDs). This scheme aims to address the complex consecutive asynchrony caused by long-duration denial-of-service(LDDoS) attacks. When the denial-of-service(DoS) attack lasts longer than the dwell time of each subsystem, switching to a new subsystem is necessary to manage the unstable dynamic behavior caused by SUDs. The controller cannot immediately obtain information about the new modality. However, owing to the delayed access to new modality information by the controller, consecutive asynchrony occurs. To tackle this, we propose a resilient switching rule that mitigates the impact of consecutive asynchrony by choosing the optimal subsystem once the minimum dwell time is met. Multi-stage event-triggering mechanisms(METMs) are proposed to coordinate with switching signals by incorporating modality matching conditions and a switching-Q-learning algorithm. These mechanisms reduce asynchronous durations by aligning modality matching conditions and terminating attacks using attack parameters. This control scheme for SOR of NSSs with SUDs disturbed by LDDoS attacks provides a detailed analysis of dynamic switching behavior, leveraging the resilient switching rule and METMs. Finally,the feasibility of the proposed methodology is substantiated through simulations with an F-18 aircraft model.

The highly reversible insertion/extraction of large-radius K^+into electrode materials remains a tough goal,especially for con version-type ***,we design a current collector-integrated electrode(N-CoSe/CoSe_(2)-C@Cu) as an advanced anode for potassium-ion battery(PIBs).The conductive CoSe/CoSe_(2) heterojunction with rich Se vacancy defects,conductive sp^2 N-doped carbon layer,and the elastic copper foil matrix can greatly accelerate the electron transfer and enhance the structural ***,the well-designed N-CoSe/CoSe_(2)-C@Cu current collector-integrated electrode displays enhanced potassium storage performance with regard to a high capacity(325.1 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.1 A·g^(-1) after 200cycles),an exceptional rate capability(223.5 mAh·g^(-1) at2000 mA·g^(-1)),and an extraordinary long-term cycle stability(a capacity fading of only 0.019% per cycle over1200 cycles at 2000 mA·g^(-1)).Impressively,ex situ scanning electron microscopy(SEM) characterizations prove that the elastic structure of copper foil is merged into the cleverly designed N-CoSe/CoSe_(2)-C@Cu heterostructure,which buffers the deformation of structure and volume and greatly promotes the cycle life during the potassium/depotassium process.

Toward Universal Controller: Performance-Aware Self-Optimizing Reinforcement Learning for Discrete-Time Systems With Uncontrollable Factors

The industrial system usually contains not only controllable variables (CVs) but also uncontrollable variables (unCVs), e.g., weather conditions and friction. These unCVs have a direct impact on system control performance. Despite the success of current deep reinforcement learning (DRL) control algorithms, most of them neglect the impact of unCVs, which can cause the deterioration of control performance and instability of the system. To perceive and eliminate the impact of unCVs, a performance-aware self-optimizing universal controller (PASOUC) is designed in this article. The PASOUC aims at integrating the representation of unCVs and controller design to perceive and eliminate the impact of unCVs under different conditions, which goes beyond most existing control methods. Technically, a historical trajectory-inspired control performance perceptron is developed to perceive the impact of unCVs on system control performance under different conditions. Subsequently, a new performance-aware reward is designed to integrate the representation of unCVs and controller design while training the DRL controller. In addition, the domain randomization (DR) training strategy is employed to learn a universal control policy, which can access the approximate optimal trajectory under nonideal conditions. In this way, the impact of unCVs can be eliminated. To handle the low efficiency of the DR training, the policy improvement-policy proximal optimization (PI-PPO) is proposed to enhance the convergence speed of the DR training by performing explicit policy improvement. Finally, illustrative examples are presented to demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method. © 2013 IEEE.

Nano-silica modified lightweight and high-toughness carbon fiber/phenolic ablator with excellent thermal insulation and ablation performance

Lightweight and high-toughness carbon fiber/phenolic ablator(CFPA)is required as the Thermal Protection System(TPS)material of aerospace vehicles for next-generation space *** improve the ablative properties,silica sol with good particle size distribution prepared using tetramethoxysilane(TMOS)was blended with natural rubber latex and deposited onto carbon fiber felt,which was then integrated with phenolic aerogel matrix,introducing nano-silica into the framework of *** modified CFPA with a low density of 0.28—0.31 g/cm3exhibits strain-in-fracture as high as 31.2%and thermal conductivity as low as 0.054 W/(m·K).Furthermore,a trace amount of nano-silica could effectively protect CFPA from erosion of oxidizing atmosphere in different high-temperature *** oxyacetylene ablation test of 3000°C for 20 s shows a mass ablation rate of 0.0225 g/s,a linear ablation rate of 0.209 mm/s for the modified CFPA,which are 9.64%and 24.82%lower than the unmodified ***,the long-time butane ablation test of 1200°C for 200 s shows an insignificant recession with mass and linear ablation rate of 0.079 g/s and 0.039 mm/s,16.84%and 13.33%lower than the unmodified ***,the fixed thermocouple in the test also demonstrates a good thermal insulation performance with a low peak back-face temperature of 207.7°C,12.25%lower than the unmodified ***,the nano-silica modified CFPA with excellent overall performance presents promising prospects in high-temperature aerospace applications.
