Achieving the national goal of “carbon peak, carbon neutral” is a complex and challenging task. The carbon emission of the power industry accounts for nearly 40% of the total carbon emission, so the task of reducing emissions is heavy. However, carbon emission reduction in the power industry requires the joint effort of all segments of power generation, transmission, distribution, and consumption. It should be noted that the contribution of scientific assessment of carbon emission reduction in each segment is essential. This paper proposes a framework for assessing the carbon emission reduction additionality of subjects in every link of the power system. The proposed framework identifies the carbon emission reduction additionality of each link of power production, transmission, and consumption by comparing the carbon emission reduction benefits of a given measure with the intervention of the measure. In the evaluation framework, a multi-dispatching scenario evaluation method based on AC optimal power flow (AC OPF) is proposed to evaluate the carbon emission reduction benefits of the power grid under the clean-energy-consumption dispatching and network-1oss-minimization dispatching modes. The proposed method examines different transmission power scenarios of a new energy outgoing ultra-high voltage line and analyzes the carbon emission reduction additionality of the power grid. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed method is verified by simulations using a provincial power grid as a case study.

Along with the deeper coupling between power system and information communication system, such traditional simulation methods as decoupling communication and ideal simulation can hardly satisfy the realistic demand because of the communication faults of time delay, bit error and interruption. Based on an analysis of existing modeling techniques of cyber physical system, a master-slave mode co-simulation platform supported by MATLAB and OPNET is proposed. Some key problems such as the co-simulation framework, the model in MATLAB and OPNET, software-based virtual measuring equipment and interactive interface are expounded, in which a hybrid time synchronization strategy is designed and analyzed. A microgrid case study is given to demonstrate the feasibility and availability of the co-simulation platform. © 2017 Automation of Electric Power Systems Press.

The conventional security constraint unit commitment plan is difficult to adapt to the uncertainty of high proportion of renewable energy output, and is easy to cause risks to the real-time power supply-demand balance and the security of power system operation. Aiming at the requirements of optimization and decision-making for high proportional renewable energy provincial power grid day-ahead scheduling, this paper analyzes the optimization decision-making process of day-ahead scheduling planning considering uncertainties of renewable energy, and proposes a renewable energy output scenario set generation method based on renewable energy power forecast and forecast error probability distribution. A day-ahead stochastic unit commitment optimization model and algorithm considering the uncertainty of renewable energy and power system operation risk is established. The effectiveness and practicability of the proposed method are verified based on the day-ahead actual operation data of a provincial power grid.

Hybrid MANET-satellite network is a natural evolution in achieving ubiquitous communication. Their combination gives full play to respective advantages—autonomy and flexibility of MANET, wide coverage and resilience to natural disasters of satellite network. Although large quantities of researches have been conducted on hybrid MANET-satellite network, there are relatively few researches on its routing. In this paper, we construct a basic model of hybrid MANET-satellite network and explore the performance and applicability of ad-hoc routing protocols in hybrid network. Simulation results by NS3 demonstrate that the hybrid network working in ad hoc manner can acquire the performance that conforms to the standard of QoS. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2018.

The incentive policies for non-fossil energy are important factors affecting the investment behavior of generation companies (GENCOs). However, the investment behavior of different types of GENCOs in the system could be quite different, so the implementation of the policy must consider how to achieve incentive compatibility with the investment behavior of GENCOs. This article constructs a power transition simulation model that considers the investment behavior of GENCOs. Taking the wind power feed-in tariff policy as an example, it analyzes the impact of policy on the whole system's low carbon transition pathway of the power structure and the evolution trajectory of system carbon emissions under different behavior scenarios. © 2021 IEEE.

The national carbon market is the major market mechanism supporting China's “30•60” target. This market involves natural sciences, such as energy technology and climate science, and social sciences, such as politics and economics related to energy economy, policy, and human behavior. This makes the carbon market a typical cyber-physical-social system in energy (CPSSE). This paper focuses on modeling objective physical parameters associated with market participants. The paper proposes a model and value assignment method for unit-level heterogeneous parameters and constructs a unit-level dataset of national carbon market participants. The influences of the heterogeneous levels of different parameters on the micro supply-demand balance are then evaluated. The study details the quantitative influences of the proportion of units without key parameter measurements and the shape of the distribution of the units' coal consumption rates. This study establishes a unit-level model and parameter foundation for conducting a national carbon market hybrid simulation.

Transformers are prone to metal corrosion due to long-term exposure in the external environment. It is necessary to detect corrosion in time to prolong their service life-time. Detecting metal corrosion based on deep learning is becoming a feasible method at present. However, because of the irregularity and detachability of metal corrosion, traditional annotation approach results in such problems as ambiguity and uncertainty in the annotating process. Thus, a novel hierarchical annotation approach is proposed in this paper. The rationale for this initiative is as follows: traditional annotation approach has been used to annotate a large area covering the range of corrosion, as long as the area is visually continuous and adjacent to the corrosion that cannot be clearly divided. The annotation result is recorded as training set A;secondly, in the annotating boxes from the first step, the areas with obvious and relatively independent features are re-annotated to form the second level of nested annotation. The annotation result is recorded as training set B. Finally, Faster R-CNN and YOLOv5 models were trained by A, B training sets respectively in the experiment. It can be concluded that the detection performance with hierarchical annotation approach proved better than traditional annotation approach for Faster R-CNN and YOLOv5 models. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

With the requirement for an increased share of renewable energy, park load flexibility is needed to balance fluctuations between supply and demand. The factors affecting the load flexibility of the park are analyzed from four dimensions: high quality, high efficiency, security, and low carbon. The index system for evaluating the load flexibility of the park is constructed. Given the relevance of the load flexibility assessment indexes of the park, the grey entropy algorithm is improved, and the combined assignment method is proposed to enhance the assignment of the indexes' weights. The quantitative assessment method of park flexibility is proposed based on the coupling of SPA (Set Pair Analysis) and TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution). The simulation shows that this method can solve the shortcomings of traditional TOPSIS well and make the quantitative assessment results of park load flexibility more accurate, which can be a guide for evaluating the flexibility of other urban industrial parks. © 2024 IEEE.

Recent years, modular multilevel converter (MMC) is one of the most promising topologies applied to high voltage direct current transmission (HVDC). In order to solve the circulating currents caused by structural defects of MMC, a fuzzy adaptive PI circulating current suppressing controller is proposed based on mathematical model of MMC and functioning fuzzy subset inference method: The fuzzy number is calculated according to the error of system state, error variation, membership function and fuzzy control rules; The center of gravity method is used for defuzzification, and finally the PI parameters are modified. Finally, the PSCAD/EMTDC simulation model with fuzzy adaptive PI controller is established. The results show that the fuzzy adaptive PI circulating current suppressing controller is effective for MMC-HVDC.

Recent years, various types of reactive power resources are installed in the power grid. Both of the complexity of and demand for better voltage regulation are increasing. AVC system is the most famous system-wide Q/V control system which consists of PVC, SVC and TVC. SVC controls the voltages of buses within a control zone by sending individual set-point values to PVCs belonging to the control zone. Traditional SVC assumes that PVCs within a control zone is decoupled and each PVC can reach the set-point value during a control period. However, the proof in this paper reveals the fact that if there are strongly coupled PVCs in a control zone, the competition between those PVCs will cause unreasonable reactive power flow. PVCs can't reach their set-points so a deviation of Q output is induced. In this paper, a novel SVC model is proposed so as to eliminate the Q deviation. Simulation work verified the proof and demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed SVC model. © 2019 IEEE.
