Capacitance current has significant effect on long-distance fault of high-voltage transmission line, and the current single-ended quantity location algorithm can hardly eliminate the effect of capacitance current under the power frequency. To reduce capacitance current’s effect on location algorithm, this paper builds metallic grounding fault model based on RLC type circuit, takes fault location as the unknown variable, builds a mathematical location model within time domain applicable for taking account of capacitance current, and obtains the quadratic equation with one unknown for fault location. Then it substitutes the two independent variables for the linear term and quadratic term, solves independent variables through linear equation, and proves the solution exists and is unique. Then under analysis on the same difference error, it compares magnitude of error generated during calculation of the two independent variables, it corrects difference error first, and inversely solves fault location by selecting the numerically disturbed smaller independent variable. Simulation results indicate the algorithm can accurately take account of effect of capacitance current under different metallic fault conditions, and solve fault location in a stable and accurate manner.

High proportion of renewable energy integrated into the power grid results in lower system inertia and deterioration of voltage characteristics. Understanding the reactive power support characteristics of wind/photovoltaic (PV) /storage power station is critical for achieving coordinated control of their reactive power. In this regard, the paper proposes a comprehensive evaluation index system that considers voltage, reactive power support, and reactive power control to evaluate the reactive power support capability of wind/photovoltaic/storage power station. To validate the effectiveness of the index system, this paper constructs a simulation scenario of a wind/photovoltaic/storage power station connected to the regional power grid and calculates the corresponding indices. The fuzzy membership function is used to normalize the indicators. The subjective and objective combination weighting method is used to assign values to the indicators, and the reactive power support capability ratings of each power station are calculated. Finally, the reactive power support capability of the wind/photovoltaic/storage power plant was analyzed in combination with simulation scenarios, and the effectiveness of the comprehensive evaluation index system and method was verified.

Fluorinated nitrile (C4F7N) has been considered a novel eco-friendly gas insulating medium, while the low toxicity and leakage risk urgently urge the development of C4F7N gas sensor. Herein, we analyzed the sensing performance of transition metal doped MoS2 to C4F7N based on the density functional theory (DFT). The adsorption energy, charge transfer, deformation charge density and density of states were explored. Furthermore, the sensitivity and recovery performance were analyzed based on frontier orbital and transition state theories. It was found that Pd-MoS2 can achieve a superior balance between sensitivity and response time, showing promising potential for C4F7N leak detection for engineering applications. © 2023, The Authors. Inrush current occurrence in the power transformers is an unavoidable event that can happen due to energizing no-load transformer. Although various protection methods based on the terminal current and/or voltage have been proposed for transformer protection, the protection malfunction caused by the inrush current still occurs occasionally. In this paper, By comparing different closing angles of transformers with normal condition and differences in leakage flux near the yoke, a simple and accurate method is presented to identify transformer inrush current conditions. The change of the flux density on the leakage flux sensor can effectively identify the transformer inrush current. This identification method has been initially verified in the simulation in Maxwell. © 2020 IEEE.

In combined cooling heating and power system, the gas-steam combined cycle is gradually used more and more. The common operation mode in CCHP is mainly to determine heat by electricity and heat by electricity. This paper defines an index indicator and analyzes the difference between the two operating modes in different intervals through the system energy supply interval chart, finally analyzes the difference in the indicators between the two operating modes through the actual load method. It is concluded that in winter operating conditions, the following the thermal load (FTL) operation mode is better;in summer operating conditions, the indicator of following the electric load (FEL) is better;during the transition season, the value of PEC is better in the case of following the thermal load. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Fire prevention and control has always been a topic of concern. Autonomous fire-fighting robot can replace firefighters to complete this dangerous task, which improves work efficiency and ensure work safety to a certain extent. Considering the large volume and weight of the fire-fighting robot, the Ackermann steering mechanism is suitable for the chassis of the robot. This paper focus on the design of the autonomous fire-fighting robot using the Ackermann type of chassis. According to the kinematics of the Ackermann structure, this paper use TEB local path planning algorithm and AMCL positioning algorithm to form a navigation framework to complete the autonomous positioning and navigation of the firefighting robot. At last, a simulation environment is built and the proposed scheme are well demonstrated by the experimental results. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to suppress the continuous commutation failure of the line commutated converter (LCC) in the multi-infeed DC transmission system, the ability of the voltage commutated converter (VSC) in the hybrid multi-infeed DC transmission system to provide fast reactive power support is fully utilized, and a dynamic reactive power support coordination control strategy based on LCC current error controller and VSC constant AC voltage control is proposed. When the LCC experiences continuous commutation failure, the compensation amount of the extinction angle is closely related to the DC current error. The compensation amount of the extinction angle can be obtained according to the DC current error during the transient process. The reactive power support required by the LCC is calculated based on the compensated extinction angle, and the required reactive power support is prioritized to be added to the outer loop reactive power control of the VSC inverter side. By constructing a test system for doubly-fed DC transmission with flexible DC in PSCAD/EMTDC, the test results have confirmed the efficacy of the proposed dynamic reactive power coordination control strategy. The strategy has demonstrated a remarkable ability to enhance LCC's ability to suppress continuous commutation failure. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Traditional power grids for volatility, uncertainty, usually set a pro rata sufficient spare margin, but when the new energy grid capacity increases, if the volatility is so great, this "one size fits all" decision is often expensive, too high thermal power start-up and even result in waste of resources. Therefore, based on the study of the multi-scale flexibility control measures of source network load storage, this paper puts forward the operation planning algorithm to reduce the total operation control risk effectively by coordinating and lowering the backup measures. Synergy with the value of various flexible resources in short-term operation planning to prevent and control the risk of wind, light and power outages in power systems, to achieve flexible operation planning. Finally, through the study, the algorithm proposed in this paper is verified that the algorithm can solve the problem of risk prevention and control in operation planning more economically and safely under the condition of large-scale grid-connected new energy.

The anode saturable reactor (ASR) is a critical component in converter valves for protecting thyristors. In recent years, fault issues caused by abnormal heating have received widespread attention. However, the complex structure of the ASR presents a significant challenge for accurate temperature rise calculations. This study focuses on an ETT-type ASR and establishes a comprehensive electromagnetic-thermal-flow simulation model. The improved Bertotti loss separation model is applied to calculate core losses, and time-averaged losses are used as the heat source coupled to the temperature field to address the mismatch between the time scales of losses and temperature rise. The temperature distribution of multiple core pairs in the ASR is solved based on a fluid-thermal coupling method and compared with three other methods. Experimental results show that under normal operating conditions, the core temperature of the ASR is approximately 75°C, with slight temperature differences observed across the cores. The proposed heat calculation model provides more accurate results than other models. © 2015 IEEE.

With the rapid development of UHV AC / DC hybrid power grid, in order to cope with the large-scale access of new energy, the power market reform has been continuously promoted. Therefore, it is proposed to build a new generation of dispatching technical support system to meet the needs of future power system development and safe, stable and high-quality operation. This paper proposes a simplified service bus that supports a new generation of service-oriented architecture, and meets the deployment characteristics of cloud terminals that are cross platform, lightweight, easy to deploy, open and efficient. The simplified service bus can well meet the location independent characteristics and be easily deployed in and out of the system. The flexible protocol processing mode cooperating with the gateway can meet the needs of accessing the services of the system and external systems. At the same time, it supports multiple man-machine network and automatic switching of service network shutdown under N-1 mode, which greatly improves the availability and stability of the system, Which Provide a strong guarantee for the safe, stable and efficient operation of the new generation system.
