A short-term stochastic production simulation method considering the forecast error of renewable sources power is proposed to focus on the issue that conventional production simulation method is incapable of depicting the forecast error of renewable sources power. The proposed method contains two hierarchies, i.e. the day-ahead simulation and the real-time simulation. As for day-ahead simulation, a day-ahead scheduling of conventional units and renewable energy plants is determined by solving a unit commitment model on the basis of forecasted renewable sources power and load profiles. Real-time simulation is the supplement to day-ahead simulation and it corrects the results in day-ahead simulation. The validity of the proposed method is proved with a real power grid in Northwest China. Case studies show that conventional units may be still the major resource of power grids although these installed capacity is no larger than renewable energy resources. Meanwhile, forecast errors actually impact reliability of power systems. © 2016 IEEE.

Association between physical activity and mortality has rarely been investigated among the Chinese population. Furthermore, the most appropriate amount of physical activity for longevity benefits remains unclear. We used data from the Dongfeng-Tongji cohort, including 24,606 middle-aged and older retired adults in 2008 and followed to 2013, to quantify linear and non-linear dose-response relationships between regular physical activity and mortality risks by Cox proportional hazards model. Compared with participants who did not engage in regular physical activity, those performing regular physical activity had significantly 46%, 56%, and 49% decreased risks of mortality from all causes, circulatory, and respiratory diseases, respectively. Each one-SD increase in regular physical activity was associated with 32% decrease of respiratory disease mortality. There were significant nonlinear dose-response associations between regular physical activity and mortality from all causes and circulatory diseases. Mortality risks decreased monotonically with increased regular physical activity amount, and appeared to reach a threshold at around 100 MET-hours/week. More mortality benefits were found among non-smokers than that among current and former smokers. Our results suggest that middle-aged and older Chinese adults can achieve mortality benefits from regular physical activity at the WHO recommended minimum, and the benefit threshold appears at approximately 100 MET hours/week.

In recent years, the number of information security incidents of industry controlling system has increased dramatically. The intrusion detection system for industrial control systems has received extensive attention. As one of powerful and light weight Network Intrusion Detection System, Snort has good expansibility and translatability, and can be used in various environments. However, Snort has clear deficiency on the intrusion detection of Profinet RT signal. Profinet DCP is an important part of Profinet RT. The intrusion detection for Profinet DCP is very important for the industry controlling systems which use Profinet to connect. To realize the detection for Profinet RT signal, this paper expanded the snort packet decoding engine, and designed a preprocessor plug-ins for Profinet RT signal. Experimental result shows that the improved Snort can support the intrusion detection for Profinet RT signal. © 2016 IEEE.

Vehicular volatile organic compounds losses due to refueling and diurnal process in China: 2010–2050

Volatile organic compounds（VOCs） are crucial to control air pollution in major Chinese cities since VOCs are the dominant factor influencing ambient ozone level, and also an important precursor of secondary organic aerosols. Vehicular evaporative emissions have become a major and growing source of VOC emissions in China. This study consists of lab tests, technology evaluation, emissions modeling, policy projections and cost-benefit analysis to draw a roadmap for China for controlling vehicular evaporative emissions. The analysis suggests that evaporative VOC emissions from China＇s light-duty gasoline vehicles were approximately 185,000 ton in 2010 and would peak at 1,200,000 ton in 2040 without control. The current control strategy implemented in China, as shown in business as usual（BAU） scenario, will barely reduce the long-term growth in emissions. Even if Stage II gasoline station vapor control policies were extended national wide（BAU ＋ extended Stage II）, there would still be over 400,000 ton fuel loss in 2050. In contrast, the implementation of on-board refueling vapor recovery（ORVR） on new cars could reduce 97.5% of evaporative VOCs by 2050（BAU ＋ ORVR/BAU ＋ delayed ORVR）. According to the results, a combined Stage II and ORVR program is a comprehensive solution that provides both short-term and long-term benefits. The net cost to achieve the optimal total evaporative VOC control is approximately 62 billion CNY in 2025 and 149 billion CNY in 2050.

Economic analysis of atmospheric mercury emission control for coal-fired power plants in China

Coal combustion and mercury pollution are closely linked, and this relationship is particularly relevant in China, the world＇s largest coal consumer. This paper begins with a summary of recent China-specific studies on mercury removal by air pollution control technologies and then provides an economic analysis of mercury abatement from these emission control technologies at coal-fired power plants in China. This includes a cost-effectiveness analysis at the enterprise and sector level in China using 2010 as a baseline and projecting out to 2020 and2030. Of the control technologies evaluated, the most cost-effective is a fabric filter installed upstream of the wet flue gas desulfurization system（FF ＋ WFGD）. Halogen injection（HI） is also a cost-effective mercury-specific control strategy, although it has not yet reached commercial maturity. The sector-level analysis shows that 193 tons of mercury was removed in 2010 in China＇s coal-fired power sector, with annualized mercury emission control costs of 2.7 billion Chinese Yuan. Under a projected 2030 Emission control（EC） scenario with stringent mercury limits compared to Business As Usual（BAU） scenario, the increase of selective catalytic reduction systems（SCR） and the use of HI could contribute to 39 tons of mercury removal at a cost of 3.8 billion CNY. The economic analysis presented in this paper offers insights on air pollution control technologies and practices for enhancing atmospheric mercury control that can aid decision-making in policy design and private-sector investments.

Impact of disinfection on drinking water biofilm bacterial community

Disinfectants are commonly applied to control the growth of microorganisms in drinking water distribution systems. However, the effect of disinfection on drinking water microbial community remains poorly understood. The present study investigated the impacts of different disinfectants（chlorine and chloramine） and dosages on biofilm bacterial community in bench-scale pipe section reactors. Illumina MiS eq sequencing illustrated that disinfection strategy could affect both bacterial diversity and community structure of drinking water biofilm. Proteobacteria tended to predominate in chloraminated drinking water biofilms, while Firmicutes in chlorinated and unchlorinated biofilms. The major proteobacterial groups were influenced by both disinfectant type and dosage. In addition, chloramination had a more profound impact on bacterial community than chlorination.

Guangzhou is the capital and largest city（land area：7287 km2）of Guangdong province in South *** air quality in Guangzhou typically worsens in November due to unfavorable meteorological conditions for pollutant *** the Guangzhou Asian Games in November 2010,the Guangzhou government carried out a number of emission control measures that significantly improved the air *** this paper,we estimated the acute health outcome changes related to the air quality improvement during the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games using a next-generation,fully-integrated assessment system for air quality and health *** advanced system generates air quality data by fusing model and monitoring data instead of using monitoring data alone,which provides more reliable *** air quality estimates retain the spatial distribution of model results while calibrating the value with *** results show that the mean PM2.5concentration in November 2010 decreased by 3.5μg/m^3 compared to that in 2009 due to the emission control *** the analysis,we estimate that the air quality improvement avoided 106 premature deaths,1869 cases of hospital admission,and 20,026 cases of outpatient *** overall cost benefit of the improved air quality is estimated to be 165 million CNY,with the avoided premature death contributing 90%of this *** research demonstrates that Ben MAP-CE is capable of assessing the health and cost benefits of air pollution control for sound policy making.

The issue of ecological environmental protection in China also becomes more and more complex. To better realize the goal of building a resource-saving and environment-friendly society advocated by the government, it is very necessary to apply big data technology in ecological environmental protection. For this end, this paper carries out an in-depth study on the application of big data technology in ecological environmental protection, in the hope of promoting the better unfolding of ecological environmental protection work in China to some extent. To complete the study on the application of big data technology research in ecological environmental protection satisfactorily, we also need to gain a deep understanding of the role of big data technology in ecological environmental protection. In the analysis of big data technology, the author finds that from the perspective of social concern, rapid growth, value relevance and mass data, etc., big data technology can acquire a large number of environmental data and information using feature-rich test equipment under high social concern. Since these data have a high correlation, all kinds of information collected from environmental protection work can be served in big data technology and eventually help better unfold ecological environmental protection.

Design of Rated Power control Strategy of Wind Turbine Based on Particle Swarm Optimization

In view of the reduction of wind turbine operating efficiency caused by wind speed measurement errors, this paper proposes a rated power control strategy for wind turbines for practical applications; in order to solve the problem that the pitch PI controller parameters of wind turbines are not easy to calculate and tune in the process of design and optimization, this paper proposes a complete set of methods for parameter tuning of pitch control PI controllers for wind turbines. This paper establishes a Bladed-Matlab co-simulation platform, uses Bladed software to build a complete model of a 2MW wind turbine, and designs a rated power control strategy for wind turbines. After the wind turbine model is linearized at different wind speed points by applying Bladed software, the linearized model for PI parameter tuning is obtained, and then the optimal PI parameters for each wind speed point are set by using particle swarm algorithm. According to the variation law between the PI parameters and the pitch angle obtained before, the PI parameters are adjusted adaptively by variable gain PI control. The simulation results show the superiority of the control strategy and parameter tuning method used in this paper.
