Zonal Reserve Model for Renewable Power Integrated System

Considering transmission capabilities and renewable integration, zonal regulation and spinning reserve requirements are discussed to handle uncertainty of load and renewable energy as well as any N-1 outage. A new zonal reserve model is proposed in the paper including reserve dispatched time constraints, zonal reserve requirements and network security constraints using the method of chance constrained programming. Analysis on the IEEE 39 system demonstrates the model can schedule zonal energy, regulation and spinning reserve in an economic way for a renewable power integrated system.

Resolving the influence of nitrogen abundances on sediment organic matter in macrophyte-dominated lakes, using fluorescence spectroscopy

A controlled experiment was designed to resolve the influence of nitrogen abundance on sediment organic matters in macrophyte-dominated lakes using fluorescence *** biomass showed coincident growth trends with time, but different variation rates with nitrogen treatment. All plant growth indexes with nitrogen addition（N, NH4Cl100, 200, 400 mg/kg, respectively） were lower than those of the control group. Four humiclike components, two autochthonous tryptophan-like components, and one autochthonous tyrosine-like component were identified using the parallel factor analysis model. The results suggested that the relative component changes of fluorescence in the colonized sediments were in direct relation to the change of root biomass with time. In the experiment, the root formation parameters of the plants studied were significantly affected by adding N in sediments, which may be related to the reason that the root growth was affected by N *** a low concentration of N to sediments can play a part in supplying nutrients to the plants. However, the intensive uptake of NH4^＋may result in an increase in the intracellular concentration of ammonia, which is highly toxic to the plant cells. Hence, our experiment results manifested that organic matter cycling in the macrophyte-dominated sediment was influenced by nitrogen enrichment through influencing vegetation and relevant microbial activity.

Preparation of Mn_3O_4 from low-grade rhodochrosite ore by chemical bath deposition method

Mn3O4was prepared with the chemical bath deposition(CBD) method. A Mn SO4 solution was obtained by the leaching and purifying of low-grade rhodochrosite ore(LGRO), which was used as raw material. The prepa ration procedures were studied and promoted. The result showed that the Mn3O4 with the highest purity and highes specific surface area could be obtained under the following processes. An Mn SO4 solution of 1.0 mol/L was added into a beaker under a flow rate of 30 m L/h. The p H of the reaction solution was adjusted to 10 using NH3 H2 O a80 °C. Then the solids were washed and dried at 200 °C fo2.5 h. The total Mn content(TMC) of Mn3O4 was 72.0 %The ionic distributions was formulated as [Mn2?[Mn2??0.3024Mn30.2937Mn4?h0.37860.0254]2O4. The average crys tallite size of Mn3O4 with a tetragonal hausmannite struc ture was found to be about 35 nm by X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis. The BET specific surface area of the Mn3O4 measured was 32 m2/g.

Spectral sensitivity of the compound eyes of Anomala corpulenta motschulsky(Coleoptera:Scarabaeoidea)

The scarab beetle, Anomala corpulenta Motschulsky（Coleoptera： Scarabaeoidea）, is a widespread and destructive pest in China. Vision is one of the most important means of acquiring information about the external environment. In order to contribute to the understanding of the perception of visual stimuli in this species, the light sensitivity and spectral responses of the scarab beetle, A. corpulenta, were measured by using an electroretinogram（ERG） technique. In total, 14 monochromatic light intensities, between 340 and 605 nm, were applied to the compound eyes of A. corpulenta under varying levels of adaptation to dark and light conditions. The results showed that all light stimuli induced an ERG response, with varied amplitudes. The spectral sensitivity curve of dark-adapted eyes showed one major peak（~400 nm; near-ultraviolet）, a secondary peak（from 498 to 562 nm; yellow-green） and the third peakat 460 nm. By contrast, in light-adapted eyes, only a near-UV peak was observed. From these results, we conclude that the compound eye of A. corpulenta is likely to have at least three spectral types of photoreceptor. Significance of differences were also recorded in the responses of male and female compound eyes, as well as diurnally and nocturnally. The amplitude of ERG in response to white-light stimuli varied with the light intensity： The stronger the luminance, the higher the ERG value. This suggests that the compound eye of A. corpulenta adapts quickly to changing light conditions, enabling A. corpulenta to maintain nocturnal activities.

Cry1Ab rice does not impact biological characters and functional response of Cyrtorhinus lividipennis preying on Nilaparvata lugens eggs

One concern about the use of transgenic plants is their potential risk to natural enemies. In this study, using the eggs of the rice brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens, as a food source, we investigated the effects of Cry1 Ab rice on the biological characteristics and functional response of an important predator Cyrtorhinus lividipennis. The results showed that the survival ability（adult emergence rate and egg hatching rate）, development（egg duration, nymphal developmental duration）, adult fresh weight, adult longevity and fecundity of C. lividipennis on Bt rice plants were not significantly different compared to those on non-Bt rice plants. Furthermore, two important parameters of functional response（instantaneous search rate and handling time） were not significantly affected by Bt rice. In conclusion, the tested Cry1 Ab rice does not adversely impact the biological character and functional response of C. lividipennis.

The Influence of Carbon Nitride Nanosheets Doping on the Crystalline Formation of MIL-88B(Fe) and the Photocatalytic Activities

In this research, bulk graphitic carbon nitride (g-C N ) is exfoliated and transferred to the carbon nitride nanosheets (CNNSs), which are then coupled with MIL-88B(Fe) to form the hybrid. From the results of the powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electronic microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis, it is found that the doping of CNNSs on the surface of MIL-88(Fe) could maintain the basic structure of MIL-88B(Fe), and the smaller dimension of CNNSs might influence the crystallization process of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) compared to bulk g-C N . Besides, the effects of the CNNSs incorporation on photocatalysis are also investigated. Through the photoluminescence spectra, electrochemical measurements, and photocatalytic experiments, the hybrid containing 6% CNNSs is certified to possess the highest catalytic activity to degrade methylene blue and reduce Cr(VI) under visible light. The improvement of the photocatalytic performance can be attributed to the matched energy level which favors the formation of the heterojunctions. Besides, it promotes the charge migration such that the contact between MOFs and CNNSs is more intimate, which can be inferred from the electronic microscopy images. Finally, a possible photocatalytic mechanism is put forward by the relative calculation and the employment of the scavengers to trap the active species.
