An integrated indices system for urban power grid security assessment is proposed, which includes five kinds of indices such as capability of supplying power safely, static voltage security, topological vulnerability, transient security and risk indices. The indices system can scientifically and fully reflect the security level of power grid and provide a quantitative base for the establishment of emergency management technology and measures. The traditional indices and methods for power system security assessment are improved and some indices are first proposed such as "number of lost components after N-K contingencies" and "the largest power supply region index". Based on utility theory and considering effects of external environment on failure probability of lines, risk indices are constructed including "overload risk index", "low voltage risk index", "voltage collapse risk index" and "angle instability risk index". Power System Security Assessment Indices Calculation and Analysis Software is developed, which provides an accessorial and practical tool for power system plan and operation. At last, one urban power grid is used as a research example and the results show effectiveness of the indices system and practicability of the software. © 2009 IEEE.

Oxidative Damage to Lung Tissue and Peripheral Blood in Endotracheal PM_(2.5)-treated Rats

Objective To investigate the oxidative damage to lung tissue and peripherial blood in PM2.5-treated rats. Methods PM2.5 samples were collected using an auto-sampling instrument in summer and winter. Treated samples were endotracheally instilled into rats. Activity of reduced glutathione peroxidase （GSH-Px） and concentration of malondialdehyde （MDA） were used as oxidative damage biomarkers of lung tissue and peripheral blood detected with the biochemical method. DNA migration length （μm） and rate of tail were used as DNA damage biomarkers of lung tissue and peripheral blood detected with the biochemical method. Results The activity of GSH-Px and the concentration of MDA in lung tissue significantly decreased after exposure to PM2.5 for 7-14 days. In peripheral blood, the concentration of MDA decreased, but the activity of GSH-Px increased 7 and 14 days after experiments. The two indicators had a dose-effect relation and similar changing tendency in lung tissue and peripheral blood. The DNA migration length （μm） and rate of tail in lung tissue and peripheral blood significantly increased 7 and 14 days after exposure to PM2.5. The two indicators had a dose-effect relation and similar changing tendency in lung tissue and peripheral blood. Conclusion PM2.5 has a definite oxidative effect on lung tissue and peripheral blood. The activity of GSH-Px and the concentration of MDA are valuable biomarkers of oxidative lung tissue damage induced by PM2.5. The DNA migration length （μm） and rate of tail are simple and valuable biomarkers of PM2 5-induced DNA damage in lung tissues and peripheral blood. The degree of DNA damage in peripheral blood can predict the degree of DNA damage in lung tissue.

The major merits and demerits of FTA and the direction of its improvement by analyzing and exploring it are pointed out. An improved method by setting subordinate degree based on the features of FTA and the knowledge of fuzzy mathematics is provided, and another five amendatory scheme is proposed. The rationality and scientificity of the improved FTA is theoretically analyzed and demonstrated by examples.

This study discusses several key biogeochemical functions and their possible consequences due to organic matter pollution and global *** contents of dissolved organic matter（DOM） studied in various lakes demonstrate that the autochthonous DOM in lake epilimnion significantly increased,approximately 19-88%,during the summer stratification *** two fluorescent components are remarkably identified in lakes with high contents of DOM using a parallel factor（PARAFAC） analysis on sample's excitation-emission matrix（EEM） spectra,but they are not detected in lakes with low contents of *** experimental results show that the fluorescent DOM（FDOM） is autochthonously originated from both photochemical and microbial assimilations of algal *** study has been applied a new tool,the fluorescence index（Findex）,to distinguish the autochthonous fluorescent components from allochthonous fulvic acid as well as to understand the changes in the fluorophores of fulvic acid caused by photochemical and microbial functions in lake *** causes the decrease in fluorescence at epilimnion than hypolimnion in lake ***,photodegradation produces the several photoproducts such as photobleached fulvic acid,low molecular weight（LMW） DOM,dissolved organic carbon（DIC）,NH,PO,hydrogen peroxide（HO）,organic peroxides（ROOH）,and so *** the photoproducts are largely produced in lakes having high contents of DOM and thus enhance the photosynthesis,thereby enhancing the high production of algal biomass in lake *** evidences demonstrate that algal biomass releases the autochthonous DOM,PO and NH,as well as regeneration of nutrients（NOand NO） occurred during this processes,which severely deteriorate the water quality in ***,these components are photochemically active to undergo further photodegradation that leads to prolongation of photosynthesis in lake *** to global warming,an increase in water temperature

Currently, the measurement of the visibility mainly depends on the human eyes, so that the objectivity is relatively poor. In general, the higher the visibility is, the greater the measurement error is. On the other hand, in practice, as opposed to high visibility situations, low visibility situation is more notable. Therefore, for the same forecast error, low visibility should have a higher risk value. Based on this principle, a risk neural network model is proposed, in which the relatively high risk is given for the low visibility case, while the relatively low risk is given for the high-visibility case. Experimental results show that the risk neural network model is superior to the standard one and linear regression model, which provide a support for our work. © 2009 IEEE.

Changes of pattern of serum proteins were studied in the topmouth gudgeon（Pseudorasbora parva） after exposure to sub-lethal concentrations of methomyl and *** 96 h-LC values of fipronil to the topmouth gudgeon 0.143 mg/*** sub-lethal exposure studies for 96 h were designed at 1/10,1/5,1/3 and 1/2 of 96 h-LC values of methomyl and fipronil in the topmouth *** present study showed that the staining intensity of low mobility protein fractions 3 and 5 of 142 and 213 g/1 methomyl 'exposure group increased more 2 times than that of control group.A new protein fraction was appeared and fractions6 and 7 disappeared of 43 g/1 methomyl exposure,group after 96 *** staining intensity of fractions 3,4,5 and 6 increased in all fipronil exposure groups after 96 h compared to control *** decrease of three high mobility proteins,fractions 9,10 and 11 in staining intensity was observed in the serum of fish exposed to methomyl and *** present study reveals that the carbamate insecticide methomyl,and fipronil,a phenylpyrazole randomly used have profound effect on serum *** changes of electropheorogrom of fish serum proteins may be used as biomarkers of fish exposed to methomyl or fipronil.

The model of Voltage Source Converter (VSC) based HVDC in the synchronous dq reference frame is presented in this paper. The model includes the DC link model and the VSC models. The feedback linearization principle for Multi-input Multi-output plants is analyzed. Based on the analysis, nonlinear decoupling control strategies for the two VSCs are proposed. For one VSC, the proposed nonlinear control strategy enables it to decouple DC voltage and reactive power control, and for the other one, the strategy guarantees the control of active power and that of reactive power independently. Simulation was conducted with MATLAB/Simulink software to verify the proposed control strategies. The simulation results prove that the nonlinear decoupling control strategies are able to provide good performance.

Global climate change has been identified as the first of the top ten environmental problems in the world. As climate change will have serious effects on the social and economic development and everyday, living of people in the world, many of the countries and governments are taking untiring efforts to combat climate change. As one of the important mechanisms of reducing greenhouse gas （GHG） emissions in the Kyoto Protocol, Clean Development Mechanism （CDM） has not only provided chance for developed countries to fulfill greenhouse emission reduction obligations, but also provided an opportunity for developing countries to combat climate change under the sustainable development frame. The dual objectives of developed countries＇ GHG emissions＇ reduction obligation achievement and developing cotmtries＇sustainable development will be achieved under the CDM. As a country with responsibility; China has been positively developing CDM projects and promoting energy saving and emissions reduction during the three yeors after the Kyoto Protocol came into force, and CDM projects development has always been in the front tank in the world. However; as the vast clime within China, notable differences occur in different regions. In order to promote the CDM development in China, it is necessa^T to have regional CDM capability construction in accordance with the practicality in different regions. Using geoaccumulation index to study source profiles of soil dust in China

Source apportionment studies of TSP （atmospheric particulate matter with aerodynamic diameters ≤ 100 μm） and PM10 （atmospheric particulate matter with aerodynamic diameters ≤ 10 μm） have revealed that soil dust is an important source of these particulates in China. In this study, the contamination of soil dust was assessed through the use of a geoaccumulation index （Igeo）. The mass concentration profiles of 17 elements （Na, Mg, Al, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Br, Ba, and Pb） were established for urban soil dusts. Geochemical compositions of soils from 15 cities were used to represent background urban soil compositions. The results of this study indicated that a number of cities are severely polluted by particulates containing Ca, Cr, Ni, and Cu in both size fractions （TSP and PM10）. Contamination with Zn, Pb, Co, and Br was moderate to severe （Igeo 〉 2）. The Al and Fe concentrations were not high enough for them to be considered contaminants.
