At present, the capacitance current compensation technology for transmission line differential protection is based on uniform parameters of entire lines, so it cannot be adapted to cable-overhead hybrid transmission lines. In this paper, a steady-state compensation method based on segment parameters, a time-domain compensation method based on whole line equivalent parameters and a time-domain compensation method based on segment parameters are proposed, which can adapt to different application scenarios, such as hybrid lines with shunt reactance at the ends and junctions. A PSCAD/EMTDC simulation shows that when a hybrid transmission line is short, the time-domain compensation method based on whole line equivalent parameters is simple to implement, and it can effectively compensate the capacitance current of hybrid transmission lines. The time-domain compensation method based on segment parameters can accurately compensate the capacitance current of hybrid transmission lines, taking into account the reliability and sensitivity of differential protection. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Reinforcement learning(RL) has roots in dynamic programming and it is called adaptive/approximate dynamic programming(ADP) within the control community. This paper reviews recent developments in ADP along with RL and its applications to various advanced control fields. First, the background of the development of ADP is described, emphasizing the significance of regulation and tracking control problems. Some effective offline and online algorithms for ADP/adaptive critic control are displayed, where the main results towards discrete-time systems and continuous-time systems are surveyed, ***, the research progress on adaptive critic control based on the event-triggered framework and under uncertain environment is discussed, respectively, where event-based design, robust stabilization, and game design are reviewed. Moreover, the extensions of ADP for addressing control problems under complex environment attract enormous attention. The ADP architecture is revisited under the perspective of data-driven and RL frameworks,showing how they promote ADP formulation ***, several typical control applications with respect to RL and ADP are summarized, particularly in the fields of wastewater treatment processes and power systems, followed by some general prospects for future research. Overall, the comprehensive survey on ADP and RL for advanced control applications has d emonstrated its remarkable potential within the artificial intelligence era. In addition, it also plays a vital role in promoting environmental protection and industrial intelligence.

The anomaly detection for substation equipment is of great significance to maintain the safe operation of substations. With the development of deep learning, many anomaly detection methods based on deep convolutional neural networks (CNN) have been proposed. However, the challenge lies in the diversity of the environment and the variety of anomaly types in the substation. This paper proposes a Flow-Guided Anomaly Detection Method, which contains a data augmentation module and a flow-guided feature fusion module. The data augmentation module utilizes CycleGAN to transfer the style of the images to adapt to changing scenarios, such as different illumination and season conditions. The flow-guided feature fusion module extracts the optical flow between the test image and the template image by a pre-trained FlowNet, which represents the change information between the image pair and is universal for different anomaly types. Then the appearance information and change information of the image are aggregated to obtain the fused feature, which contains more semantic information. Finally, the fused feature is utilized to accurately detect a wider range of abnormal types. Experiments show that our proposed method has superior performance in anomaly detection for substation equipment and is more robust to changing scenarios. © 2021 IEEE

Renewable energy power generation prediction, including wind and photovoltaic power prediction, is usually performed separately from load prediction, while there are significant internal relationships between renewable energy power generation and load consumption. Therefore, exploring the relationship between source and load, and implementing sourceload joint prediction may improve the accuracy of source-load prediction simultaneously. This paper proposes a source-load joint probability prediction method, PCMDT (Probability-CNN-Multi-Decoder-Transformer), based on Transformer model. Firstly, we analyzed the possible aspects of the relationship between renewable energy and load. Then the CMDT(CNN-Multi-Decoder-Transformer) model was used to realize the point prediction of renewable energy power generation and load power. Next, the conditional quantile was obtained by optimizing the quantile loss function (Pinball Loss) to realize the joint probability prediction of source and load. Finally, the model was tested on a public state-level dataset. Comparing the results of source-load joint prediction with non-joint prediction, the proposed model can improve the accuracy of renewable energy and load prediction. © 2022 IEEE.

In the daily maintenance process of substation, the defect detection of substation equipment is a critical problem. This task is challenging considering of the variety of defects, the rarely sample of various defects and the complex environment. This paper presents a flow-appearance fusion defect detection method for substation equipment in multiple scenes, which contains a Siamese optical flow module and a defect location module. The Siamese optical flow module is a pretrained optical flow network, which is utilized to obtain forward and backward optical flow between the normal image and the detect image. The optical flow represents the common changing features of different types of defects in multiple scenes. The defect location module utilizes MI-darknet53 to realize the extraction and fusion of appearance and flow features. Then the extracted multiscale features are used to build the feature pyramid network (FPN), which combines semantic defect information in high level and geometric defect information in low level. Finally, FPN is utilized to predict object-level defect areas in three different scales. Experiments show that our proposed method has good reliability and superior performance in the defect detection for the dataset of multi-scene substation equipment. © 2021 IEEE

Chemical modifications of proteins induced by ambient ozone(O_(3))and nitrogen oxides(NOx)are of public health concerns due to their potential to trigger respiratory *** laboratory and environmental exposure systems have been widely used to investigate their relevant mechanism in the *** bovine serum albumin(BSA)as a model protein,we evaluated the two systems and aimed to reduce the uncertainties of both the reactants and products in the corresponding kinetic *** the laboratory simulation system,the generated gaseous pollutants showed negligible *** layers of BSA were coated on the flow tube with protein extraction recovery of 87.4%.For environmental exposure experiment,quartz fiber filter was selected as the upper filter with low gaseous O_(3)(8.0%)and NO_(2)(1.7%)losses,and cellulose acetate filter was appropriate for the lower filter with protein extraction efficiency of 95.2%.The protein degradation process was observed without the exposure to atmospheric oxidants and contributed to the loss of protein monomer mass fractions,while environmental factors(e.g.,molecular oxygen and ultraviolet)may cause greater protein monomer *** on the evaluation,the study exemplarily applied the two systems to protein modification and both showed that O_(3) promotes the protein oligomerization and nitration,while increased temperature can accelerate the oligomerization and increased relative humidity can inhibit the nitration in the environmental exposure *** developed laboratory and environmental systems are suitable for studying protein modifications formed under different atmospheric conditions.A combination of the two will further reveal the actual mechanism of protein modifications.

Ten-year emission characteristics of atmospheric pollutants from incineration of sacrificial offerings in China

The incineration of sacrificial offerings is a significant widely practiced custom that is also a kind of neglected air pollution source in *** results showed that the emission factors of particulate matter,SO_(2),CO,NO_(x),and VOCs emitted from the incineration of sacrificial offerings with purification systems were reduced by 95%,19%,9%,82%,and 42%,respectively,compared with those without a purification system,revealing a significant effect of the flue gas purification system on reducing particulate matter and gaseous *** emission level of air pollutants from the incineration of sacrificial offerings remained stable before 2013 and then showed a remarkable decrease after the implementation of China′s Air Pollution Prevention Action Plan in *** emissions of TSP(total suspended particulate),PM_(10),PM_(2.5),and NO_(x)in 2009 were 8222,6106,5656 and 15,878 ton,respectively,obviously higher than 3434,2551,2305 and 8579 ton in *** trend was affected by both the quantity of incineration and the installation rate of purification systems after the Emission Standard of Air Pollutants for Crematory(GB 13801-2015)issued in *** spatial distribution of atmospheric pollutants from incineration of sacrificial offerings was found with higher in the east and south of China than the west and north of China,which is proportional to the regional economy and *** maximum ground-level concentration typically occurred at 0.12-0.2 km from the pollution source,posing potential health risks to people entering and exiting funeral and burial sites and nearby residents.

Black carbon(BC)is considered the second largest anthropogenic climate forcer,but the radiative effects of BC are highly correlated with its combustion ***-road vehicles are an important source of anthropogenic ***,there are major uncertainties in the estimates of the BC emissions from on-road light-duty passenger vehicles(LDPVs),and results obtained with the portable emissions measurement system(PEMS)method are particularly *** developed a PEMS platform and evaluated the on-road BC emissions from ten in-use *** demonstrated that the BC emission factors(EFs)of gasoline direction injection(GDI)engine vehicles range from 1.10 to 1.56 ***^(-1),which are higher than the EFs of port fuel injection(PFI)engine vehicles(0.10–0.17 ***^(-1))by a factor of *** BC emissions during the cold-start phase contributed 2%–33%to the total emissions.A strong correlation(R^(2)=0.70)was observed between the relative BC EFs and average vehicle speed,indicating that traffic congestion alleviation could effectively mitigate BC ***,BC and particle number(PN)emissions were linearly correlated(R^(2)=0.90),and compared to PFI engine vehicles,the instantaneous PN-to-BC emission rates of GDI engine vehicles were less sensitive to vehicle specific power-to-velocity(VSPV)increase in all speed ranges.

The source-receptor matrix of PM_(2.5)concentration from local and regional sources in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(BTH)and surrounding provinces has been created in previous ***,because the spatial distribution of concentration does not necessarily match with that of the population,such concentration-based source-receptor matrix may not fully reflect the importance of pollutant control effectiveness in reducing the PM_(2.5)-related health *** demonstrate that,we study the source-receptor matrix of the PM_(2.5)-related deaths instead,with inclusion of the spatial correlations between the concentrations and the *** advanced source apportionment numerical model combined with the integrated exposure-response functions is used for BTH and surrounding regions in *** observed that the relative contribution to PM_(2.5)-related deaths of local emissions was 0.75%to 20.77%larger than that of PM_(2.5)*** results address the importance of local emissions control for reducing health impacts of PM_(2.5)particularly for local *** of regional transport to PM_(2.5)-related deaths in rural area was 22%larger than that in urban area due to the spatial pattern of regional transport which was more related to the rural *** resulted in an environmental inequality in the sense that people staying in rural area with access to less educational resources are subjected to higher impacts from regional transport as compared with their more resourceful and knowledgeable urban *** unexpected benefit from the multi-regional joint controls is suggested for its effectiveness in reducing the regional transport of PM_(2.5)pollution thus mitigating the associated environmental inequality.

Air pollutant emissions represent a critical challenge in the green development of the non-ferrous metallurgy *** work studied the emission characteristics,formation mechanisms,phase transformation and separation of typical air pollutants,such as heavy metal particles,mercury,sulfur oxides and fluoride,during non-ferrous smelting.A series of purification technologies,including optimization of the furnace throat and hightemperature discharge,were developed to collaboratively control and recover fine particles from the flue gas of heavy metal smelting processes,including copper,lead and *** improvements have been realized in wet scrubbing technology for removing mercury,fluoride and SO_(2)from flue ***-liquid sulfidation technology by applying H_(2)S was invented to recycle the acid scrubbing wastewater more efficiently and in an eco-friendly *** on digital technology,a source reduction method was designed for sulfur and fluoride control during the whole aluminum electrolysis *** desulfurization technologies were developed for catalytic reduction of the sulfur content in petroleum coke at low temperature and catalytic reduction of SO_(2)to elemental *** work has established the technology for coupling multi-pollutant control and resource recovery from the flue gas from non-ferrous metallurgy,which provides the scientific theoretical basis and application technology for the treatment of air pollutants in the non-ferrous metallurgy industry.
