River turbidity is an important index to evaluate the quality of water environment, which is of great significance to environmental monitoring. Most of the existing monitoring methods rely on turbidity labels measured by river water quality monitoring stations. However, due to the limitation of spatial distribution of water quality monitoring stations, those turbidity data outside the monitoring range are difficult to obtain and the correlation of turbidity data between monitoring stations is poor. Using such data directly might weaken the generalization ability that the model has. In this paper, we propose a new river turbidity monitoring model based on semi-supervised transfer learning (RTMM-SSTL) to solve these problems. First, in the pre-training stage, we innovatively propose a semi-supervised training method combined with big data with pseudo labels for river turbidity monitoring to solve the problem of weakened model generalization ability. Then, the model is fine-tuned using GEE hyper spectral data with ground truth to further improve the monitoring capability of the model. Experiments conducted on the river turbidity monitoring task demonstrate that the proposed model is superior to the advanced learning models, and further proves that our semi-supervised transfer learning method performs better than the state-of-the-art supervision models. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

The reuse of fracturing fluid flowback contributes toward water resource conservation and the reduction of environmental pollution. However, the ability to reuse the flowback is affected by its residual boron content. Hence, the control of boron content is crucial for effective flowback reuse and the reduction of relevant treatment costs. In the present study, chemical oxidation combined with the flocculation precipitation method was used to remove residual boron from fracturing flowback fluid. Taking boron removal rate as an index, the effects of the precipitator, oxidant, pretreatment pH (pHp), n(H2O2)/n(B) value, pretreatment time (tp), n(Ba)/n(B) value, reaction pH (pHr), and reaction time (tr) on boron removal by chemical oxygen precipitation were studied. The results showed that boron removal was performed at 20–25 °C via chemical oxidative precipitation. The use of BaCl2 as the precipitating agent and H2O2 as the oxidizing agent (under the following conditions: pretreatment pH = 9, pretreatment time (tp) = 30 min, reaction pH = 10, and reaction time (tr) = 360 min) led to a boron removal rate of 95.5% and a residual boron content of 6.76 mg/L in the solution. © 2021, The Institution of Engineers (India).

To evaluate and discuss two novels in vitro alternative tests which based on the 2nd and 4th event of the AOP in skin sensitization and their application in skin sensitization evaluation of cosmetics in *** DSens(DSens method)and Jurkat(TCPA method)were used as the test models and 9 of reference chemicals and 12 kinds of cosmetic products were used to confirm and assess the application capability in skin *** results showed that the DSens method was more sensitive to the reference chemicals compare to the TCPA *** the results of cosmetic products showed a high consistency between these two assays and h-CLAT or in vivo *** the new screening method for skin sensitization evaluation of cosmetics,the in vitro alternative tests based on AOP have certain *** reasonable combination strategy can bring a bright future for the development and application of animal alternative test in China.

Associations of chronic exposure to a mixture of pesticides and type 2 diabetes mellitus in a Chinese elderly population

Epidemiological studies have related exposure to pesticides to increased risk of diabetes. However, few studies have evaluated the health effects of mixed pesticides exposure, especially in an elderly population. Here, we utilized gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry to quantify the levels of 39 pesticides in 4 categories in a Chinese elderly population. Then we used general linear models to explore the association between individual pesticide exposure and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Restricted cubic spline (RCS) models were fitted to identify potential non-linearities between those associations. Furthermore, stratified analysis by gender was conducted to explore the gender-specific associations. Finally, we used weighted quantile sum (WQS) regression, quantile-based g computation (qgcomp), and Bayesian kernel machine regression (BKMR) to evaluate the effects of mixed exposure to 39 pesticides. The results showed that exposure to pesticides was associated with high risk of T2DM, with β-Hexachlorocyclohexane (β-BHC) and oxadiazon being the most significant independent contributors, which was pronounced among elderly women. Moreover, the association of β-BHC and oxadiazon with T2DM was linear. These indicated that it is an urgent need to take practical measures to control these harmful pesticides. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

Once an asymmetrical fault occurs on the AC side of the receiving-end of a high-voltage direct current(HVDC)transmission system,the current reference will be affected by the control regulation on the DC inverter side and the commutation voltage *** this case,the advance firing angle will fluctuate periodically,causing security threats to the *** the fault cannot be cleared in time,the effect may be even more ***,the traditional proportional-integral(PI)controller cannot effectively suppress the periodic components in the input error signal,which is an important cause of continuous commutation ***,the system requires more time to recover from the *** by this,a selfadaptive auto-disturbance rejection PI controller is proposed in this *** controller has the advantages of fast response speed and strong anti-interference ability of the auto-disturbance rejection *** one hand,it can automatically adjust PI,and the parameters can maintain the system’s adaptive *** the other hand,the discretization process satisfies the computer simulation *** applying the proposed controller to a system under constant current control and extinction angle control,the dynamic response speed can be improved and the robust performance of the system can be ensured when dealing with a wide range of ***,simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively suppress the continuous commutation failure of DC transmission systems.

Gdi Engine Fuel Injection Rate Online Estimation by Improved Zeuch Method

To meet more rigorous economy and emission regulation requirements, high injection pressure, multi-hole injector and split injection strategies are widely used in GDI engines to improve fuel atomization performance. The high injection pressure and split injection shorten single fuel pulse duration and also cause the fuel injector to frequently work in the non-linear region of its flow curve, in which injection rate dispersion is large. The multi-hole design makes it easy for the injector to be fouled and plugged, and its flow curve to be shifted in the vehicle's daily operation. Accordingly, it is necessary to estimate the real fuel injection rate when the engine is running and compensate for its excursion. An online fuel injection rate estimation method is developed in this study. It is based on the improved Zeuch method. During fuel injection, the common rail pressure signal is recorded and employed in a calculus process, by which the fuel mass of each injection pulse is achieved. The calculation result is compared with the measured value from the fuel meter in the engine DYNO test. Fuel pressure and temperature, pressure sensor installation position, high-pressure fuel pump action timing, engine operating condition, and cycle-to-cycle fluctuation are studied to determine their effects on the precision of the fuel injection mass calculation process. Data from engine DYNO show that the calculation error could be less than 5% of the measured value from the fuel meter. This online method is accurate enough for fuel injection rate online monitoring and control. All of the inputs for the method are from sensors on mass-production GDI engines. © 2023, The Authors.
