Surface flashover is a gas-solid interface insulation failure that significantly jeopardises the secure operation of advanced electronic,electrical,and spacecraft *** the widespread application of numerous material modification and structure optimisation technologies aimed at enhancing surface flashover performance,the influence mechanisms of the present technologies have yet to be systematically discussed and *** review aims to introduce various material modification technologies while demonstrating their influence mechanisms on flashover performances by establishing relationships among‘microscopic structure-mesoscopic charge transport-macroscopic insulation failure’.Moreover,it elucidates the effects of chemical structure on surface trap parameters and surface charge transport concerning flashover *** review categorises and presents structure optimisation technologies that govern electric field *** identified technologies highlight that achieving a uniform tangential electric field and reducing the normal electric field can effectively enhance flashover ***,this review proposes recommendations encompassing mathematical,chemical,evaluation,and manufacturing *** systematic summary of current technologies,their influence mechanisms,and associated advantages and disadvantages in improving surface insulation performance is anticipated to be a pivotal component in flashover and future dielectric theory.

Audio2AB:Audio-driven collaborative generation of virtual character animation

Vehicle platooning has attracted growing attention for its potential to enhance traffic capacity and road safety. This paper proposes an innovative distributed Stochastic Model Predictive Control (SMPC) for a vehicle platoon system to enhance the robustness and safety of the vehicles in uncertain traffic environments. In particular, considering the similarity between the acceleration or deceleration behaviour of neighbouring vehicles and the spring-scale properties, we use a two-mass spring system for the first time to construct an uncertain dynamic model of a formation system. In the presence of uncertain perturbations with known distributional attributes (expectation, variance), we propose an objective function in the form of expectation along with probabilistic chance constraints. Subsequently, a state feedback control mechanism is devised accordingly. Under the cumulative probability distribution function of stochastic perturbations, we theoretically derive a computationally tractable equivalent of the SMPC model. Finally, simulation experiments are designed to validate the control performance of the SMPC platoon controllers, along with an analysis of the stability performance under varying probabilities. The experimental findings demonstrate that the model can be efficiently solved in real-time with appropriately chosen prediction horizon lengths, ensuring robust and safe longitudinal vehicle formation control. The fine-tuning paradigm in addressing long-tail learning tasks has sparked significant interest since the emergence of foundation models. Nonetheless, how fine-tuning impacts performance in long-tail learning was not explicitly quantified. In this paper, we disclose that heavy fine-tuning may even lead to non-negligible performance deterioration on tail classes, and lightweight fine-tuning is more effective. The reason is attributed to inconsistent class conditions caused by heavy fine-tuning. With the observation above, we develop a low-complexity and accurate long-tail learning algorithms LIFT with the goal of facilitating fast prediction and compact models by adaptive lightweight fine-tuning. Experiments clearly verify that both the training time and the learned parameters are significantly reduced with more accurate predictive performance compared with state-of-the-art approaches. Data-augmented deep learning models are widely used in real-world applications. However, many state-of the-art loss-based or coverage-based fuzzing techniques fail to produce fuzzing samples for them from many seeds. This paper proposes Aster, a novel technique to address this problem to enhance their fuzzing effectiveness for deep learning models trained with multi-sample data augmentation methods. Aster formulates a novel reachability-based strategy to encode the insights of every seed's direct and indirect data augmentation relation instances into the replacement seed of that seed systematically. Our experiment shows that Aster is highly effective. On average, loss-based and coverage-based fuzzing techniques can generate 166% and 110% more fuzzing samples and reduce 31% and 22% unsuccessful seeds, respectively, after adopting the replacement seeds generated by Aster to replace their original seeds. Their improved models also become up to 55% and 40% on average more robust against FGSM and PGD attacks in the experiment. © 2023 IEEE.

Adaptive Occlusion Face Recognition Feature Fusion Network Based on Precise Guidance Mask Extraction

The uncertainty in the position and size of occluding objects greatly affects the extraction of identity features in facial recognition, which is a challenge that existing methods fail to effectively address. To tackle this issue, this paper introduces a novel feature fusion network for occluded facial recognition that adaptively handles arbitrary occlusions and accurately extracts occlusion information masks. The network effectively mitigates the impact of occlusions on facial identity features through a feature fusion module. The proposed method employs an occlusion classification module and an occlusion classification loss to precisely guide the extraction of accurate occlusion masks. Subsequently, an occlusion-aware hybrid attention module is introduced, which focuses on the relationship between facial features and occlusion masks across channel and spatial dimensions. This fusion strategy enables the extraction of facial identity features that are resilient to occlusions. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method holds a significant advantage in handling facial recognition tasks with arbitrary occlusions. On the LFW and MF1 synthetic occlusion datasets, the average accuracy rates reached 93.19% and 72.57%, respectively, showing improvements of 1.7 and 2.39 percent points over mainstream methods. © Shanghai Jiao Tong University 2025.

Self-adaptive applications are becoming increasingly attractive, with the ability to smartly understand their runtime environments (or contexts) and deliver adaptive services, for example, location-aware navigation or resource-sensitive suggestions. However, due to inherent noises in the process of sensing and interpreting environmental information, there is a growing demand for guarding the consistency of collected contexts to avoid application misbehaviour and, at the same time, minimize extra costs. Existing work attempted to achieve this by speeding up the kernel constraint checking module inside the consistency guarding process. Most of these efforts were spent on reusing previous checking results or parallelizing the checking process, but they all leave one central step of constraint checking, that is, link generation, untouched. In this step, the checking engine provides reasons to explain the violation of constraints under check. It occupies a substantial part of the total time cost. Focusing on this key link generation step, we proposed MG, which deploys a rigourous analysis to automatically identify and avoid redundancy in the link generation without harming any correctness of the checking results. MG has been proven sound (always guaranteeing correctness) and complete (entirely removing redundancy). Moreover, based on our observation that MG's redundancy elimination also assists another core step of constraint checking to reduce unnecessary computation further, we additionally enhance MG with an escape-condition optimization to escape unnecessary evaluation of truth values to further improve the efficiency of constraint checking in an aspect other than link generation. We call it MG+ for distinguishing. Our experiments with synthesized and real-world consistency constraints reported that, compared with existing work, MG eliminates all link redundancy (83% to 0%), and based on it, MG+ further reduces significant truth value calculations (e.g., 49.74% reduc

Dexterous hand programming is considered to be generally difficult suffering from high degree of freedom. Vision-based manipulation learning provides an efficient way to support automatic programming by human demonstration. However, complex visual perception is tightly coupled with the kinematics structure of dexterous hand in existing solutions, which makes it hard to migrate the developed algorithm from one kind of dexterous hand to another due to their kinematic difference. To address the issue, we introduce an intermediary called virtual hand and a new paradigm of motion mapping, serving as the link between human hand and dexterous hand. The virtual hand is generated in real time by hand pose estimation to track the motion of human hand. Then the joint configurations of dexterous hand and robotic arm can be calculated using geometry and optimization method based on the motion mapping paradigm we proposed. The method we introduced decouples the visual perception and kinematics calculation, which brings flexibility and low cost. The results of our preliminary experiments show the effectiveness of our method. © 2023 IEEE.
