This paper proposed a novel geometry compression method using spherical wavelet. Given a manifold triangle mesh with zero genus and arbitrary topology, it is globally parameterized over the unit sphere S2 in E3 firstly. At the same time, by subdividing an icosahedron and projecting all its vertices onto the unit sphere from the center, we can get a spherical triangle mesh with subdivision topology. Then we re-sampling all signals defined on the surface of the original triangle mesh at the vertices of the spherical subdivision mesh and get a set of discrete geometry signals with subdivision topology which can be compressed by using spherical wavelet.

The dynamic friction property of tire was introduced into the modeling of the tire's combined side and longitudinal slip properties. The effect of the dynamic friction property parameters on the combined tire model was analyzed. The direction of the resultant tangential force respectively within the adhesion and sliding region were established. The combined tire property expression taking into account the dynamic friction property was provided. simulations under different rolling velocity, different road surface and arbitrary lateral and longitudinal friction conditions were carried out. The tire model presented could be a theoretical base for chassis control and provides an effective way for the dynamic analysis of the vehicle.

Investigation of the aerodynamic characteristics of a sedan under crosswinds with increasing velocity was conducted. A user-defined function (UDF) was applied to achieve the dynamic update of the computation meshes and the velocity variation with time for the crosswind inlet. The process of a car passing a zone with increasing crosswind was simulated using a transient numerical method. The results show that crosswind only has slight influence on the drag, rolling moment and pitching moment, while it has considerable influence on the side force, lift and the yawing moment, which increase remarkably with increasing crosswind velocity, and the driving stability of the car is affected as a result.

A co-simulation platform for the traction control system (TCS) was constructed based on MATLAB and AMESim. A dynamic model of the 4WD vehicle and the controller were developed using MATLAB, a dynamic response model for hydraulic brake system was built using AMESim hydraulic module, and the data exchange was realized through AMESim special interface module and MATLAB S function. The hydraulic brake system model was revised by the experimental research. The performance of TCS under the typical conditions was simulated by the co-simulation platform. It can be conducted that a practical co-simulation platform for R and D of TCS has been acquired.

The urban ecosystem is a Social-Economic-Natural Complex consisting of human beings and their surrounding. Because resources and environmental quality are crucial to the existence and development of an urban ecosystem, the development of an urban ecosystem is necessarily built on the basis of interactions among environmental carrying capacity (ECC), resource carrying capacity (RCC) and social-economic development capacity (SEDC). A single component's capacity should not be studied without considering the integrity of the whole system. In this paper, the concept of 'Compound carrying capacity' (CCC) is introduced and studied as an index of the interactions among ECC, RCC and SEDC, as a basis for meeting the challenges of urban sustainable development and eco-city building. Using this index, it is discussed in both theory fundamentals and quantitative models how these three kinds of capacity function to sustain the urban ecosystem. The concept of CCC is introduced to improve the comprehensive understanding of this system's structure and functions. Compared with traditional concepts, the CCC of the urban ecosystem includes the ability to develop and thus is characterized by being more dynamic. This dynamism shows in the ability of cities to respond when put under pressure. Clearly, this dynamic is not endless, both environmental, resource and social-economic development capacities have limits. A comparative study of urban ecosystems and the human immune systems shows that both systems have similar features. Thus, the CCC model is discussed in this paper in light of the biology immunity theory. In this it is assumed that the urban ecosystem is the material input and its main function is to offer eco-services. The extent of these services is dependent on both the intrinsic carrying capacity and the acquired carrying capacity of the urban ecosystem. Three-phase induction motors as well as power converters are intrinsically efficient machines and devices. However, due to the common misapplication of them with loads like pumps and fans, these electric machine systems are considered a great potential of energy conservation in industries. As to assessing methods of energy conservation, neither the study of induction machine efficiency nor the analysis of pumps and fans performance is new. However, the systematic and qualitative analysis and assessment of the energy efficiency of induction machines, loads and control devices acting as a whole system are still complicated yet indispensable for electric machine system energy conservation program in China. In this paper, a systematic and qualitative assessment method for energy application efficiency of electric machine system is raised. Based on this method, an assessing computer program is designed to provide referencing information for making investment decisions regarding energy efficiency measures at manufacturing plants. An expert system is also designed to choose equipments that match each other.
