The analytical transfer matrix method (ATMM) is applied to calculating the critical radius τc and the dipole polarizability αd in two confined systems: the hydrogen atom and the Hulthēén potential. We find that there exists a linear relation between τe^1/2 and the quantum number nτ for a fixed angular quantum number l, moreover, the three bounds of αd(αd^K,αd^B,αd^U) satisfy an inequality:αd^K≤αd^B≤αd^U,A comparison betwen the ATMM,the exact numerical analysis, and the variational wavefunctions shows that our method works very well in the systems.

The popularity of broadband streaming applications requires communicationnetworks to support high-performance multicasting at the optical layer. Suffering from transmission impairments in multi-hop all-optical (transparent) WDM multicasting networks, the signal may be degraded beyond the receivable margin at some multicast destinations. To guarantee the signal quality, we introduce a translucent WDM multicasting network to regenerate the degraded signals at some switching nodes with electronic 3R (reamplification, reshaping and retiming) functionality. The translucent network is built by employing three kinds of multicasting capable switching architectures: (1) all-optical multicasting capable cross connect (oMC-OXC), (2) electronic switch and (3) translucent multicasting capable cross connect (tMC-OXC). Among them both the electronic switch and tMC-OXC are capable of electronic 3R regeneration. Furthermore, we propose a multicast-capable nodes placement algorithm based on regeneration weight, and two multicasting routing algorithms called nearest hub first and nearest on tree hub first to provide signal-quality guaranteed routes for the multicasting requests. The numerical simulation on two typical mesh networks shows that it is sufficient to equip 30% of the nodes or less with signal-regeneration capability to guarantee the signal quality.

This paper focuses on the query problems of indexing structure for moving objects. The main focus of query processing is retrieval of approximate future movement information about moving objects that may be unavailable. In geographic information system (GIS), fast and efficiently indexing moving objects are a crucial issue in several application domains, such as LBS, intelligence transportation and digital battle. In this paper, a new index structure, PQR-tree, is proposed to fast update and efficiently index the present or near future positions of constrained moving objects based on the characters of moving objects. PQR-tree is an integrated tree structure which combined PMR quadtree, quadtree and R*-tree together. Firstly, QR-tree which combined quadtree and R*-tree is used to carry out rough level partition for index space based on range region. Next, an R*-tree is used to index quasi-static objects for each subspace. Then, using a splitting rule of PMR quadtree to carry further level partition for index space based on road networks and all fast moving objects are related to the road networks. The experimental results show that PQR-tree achieves better performance for index updating and query evaluation than TPR-tree
