Handwritten digital image recognition is a special problem in digital recognition, which is much more difficult due to uncertainties such as writer and writing environment. But the accuracy of handwritten digital recognition is particularly important in some critical areas such as public security and finance. In this paper, we used machine learning and deep learning technology, to identify MNIST handwritten digital data sets. And the support vector machine and convolutional neural network were used to image recognition, among them, the support vector machine compares the accuracy of the identification of the two kernel functions. Convolutional neural networks are improved based on the classic LeNet-5 model. The Experiments result shown that the identification accuracy of Gaussian kernel function model and linear kernel function model is 94.03% and 90.47% for support vector machines, respectively. In contrast, Gaussian kernel function performs better, but the overall accuracy is low. The best performance is based on the classic convolutional neural network LeNet-5 improved model, the test set recognition rate can reach 99.05%. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The interconnected European transmission system for electricity supports the electricity trading across Europe, promoting the maximization of welfare, in particular when the interconnection capacity is enough to take low marginal cost generation, namely variable renewable power generation, into the demand areas where it is scarce. Transmission systems operators (TSOs) calculate the available interconnection capacity for the day-ahead and intraday markets in a coordinated way. This is a key step to enable price-based market coupling between different countries and regions and, therefore, efficient use of electricity from renewable energy sources and effective distribution of the benefits of renewable electricity across Europe. This work addresses the calculation of interconnection capacity between bidding zones by analyzing the processes and comparing the different methodologies used by European TSOs to coordinate the capacity calculation and compute the underlying generation shift keys (GSKs). The paper focus on the Portuguese cross-border transmission capacity with Spain, where the merit order methodology defines the GSKs supporting the calculation of the Available Transmission Capacity (ATC) for the spot market. © 2023 IEEE.

Guaranteeing the Quality of Service (QoS) in a mobile satellite network is an important issue. Existing QoS service models either cannot provide scalable bandwidth resource reservation capabilities or cannot provide a strict QoS guarantee in a fine-grained manner. In this paper, we propose a Satellite networks Resource ReSerVation mechanism (SRSV) based on segment routing: the global bandwidth resource information of the network is maintained by a centralized controller, and the end-to-end services paths are specified by segment routing. By planning the global bandwidth resources by the controller and limiting the access bandwidth rate of the service to a specific value at the ingress node, the corresponding bandwidth resource reservation for the service can be realized. Finally, we evaluate SRSV from the perspective of configuration overhead and delay in taking effect of configuration and verify that SRSV has better performance than existing mechanisms. © 2022 IEEE.

In the steel production process, there is significant energy generation and consumption. Achieving flexible and efficient utilization of energy is crucial for steel enterprises to achieve energy savings and cost reduction. The integrated energy system of a steel enterprise involves various energy sources and production equipment. Understanding the relationship between equipment energy production and consumption, as well as the coupling relationships between different energy sources, is key to realizing flexible and efficient energy utilization. This paper establishes an integrated energy system prediction and optimization scheduling model based on operating condition identification, while considering time-of-use electricity pricing, with the goal of maximizing economic performance. The model also accounts for production processes, energy coupling, safety requirements, and time-of-use electricity pricing. To evaluate the model's accuracy and applicability, a case study was conducted. The results show that by using an improved K-means clustering algorithm for operating condition tracking and identification, the gas holder level prediction accuracy exceeded 95%. Additionally, the frequency of steam turbine generator load fluctuations was reduced, lowering adjustment costs for the units. The fluctuation amplitude of gas holder levels was also minimized, keeping the levels within the optimal operating range. After the model's implementation, the self-generation rate of the steel enterprise increased, the proportion of purchased peak electricity decreased, and significant economic benefits were achieved.

Glaucoma,the leading cause of irreversible blindness worldwide,is closely linked to aqueous overaccumulation and elevated intraocular pressure(IOP).For refractory glaucoma,aqueous shunts with valves are commonly implanted for effective aqueous drainage control and IOP ***,existing valved glaucoma implants have the disadvantages of inconsistent valve opening/closing pressures,poor long-term repeatability due to their reliance on moving parts,and complex architectures and fabrication ***,we propose a novel valving concept,the droplet Laplace valve(DLV),a three-dimensional printable moving-parts-free microvalve with customizable and consistent threshold valving *** DLV uses a flow discretization unit governed by capillarity,comprising a droplet-forming nozzle,and a separated reservoir to digitize continuous flow into quantifiable *** the classic one-time-use Laplace valves,the DLV's unique design allows for its *** opening pressure is adjustable by varying the nozzle size,like the classic Laplace valves(following the Young–Laplace equation),while the closing pressure can be modified by tuning the separation distance and the reservoir *** DLVs with customizable opening pressures from 5 to 11 mmHg have been demonstrated,with opening/closing pressure differences suppressed down to<0.5 mmHg(<0.15 mmHg under the best conditions).Thanks to its moving-parts-free nature and digitized flow properties,the DLV shows a highly repeatable valving performance(<1.7%,1000 cycles)and a predictable linear flow rate–pressure correlation(R^(2)>0.99).Preliminary ex vivo validation in an enucleated porcine eye confirms the DLV's efficiency in aqueous shunting and prompt IOP *** DLV technology holds great promise in glaucoma implants for IOP management and various microsystems for flow control.

Deforestation is the primary source of global warming; traditional shelf labels use paper to display the price of the products, and human forces play a pivotal role in updating the tags where the pandemic has strictly limited its power. Various technologies provide connectivity and a fast-updating system to eliminate the paper-based approach. LoRa is one of the contenders to design the system for electronic shelf labels (ESLs). In this paper, LoRa has been used to minify data losses and guarantee the successful decoding of the carrier signals. The data parallelism at the network server (NS) is used to distribute the data packets among the gateways (GWs) for concurrent transmissions to the end devices (EDs). The EDs are placed in different ranges using machine clustering to avoid intra-SF interference and collision. The data rate (DR) and spreading factors (SFs) have been proposed to improve the performance of pure and slotted ALOHA for the properly allocated tags. The orthogonality principles follow industrial, scientific, and medical regulations (ISM) to avoid data traffic congestion. GWs under different duty cycles (DC) and bandwidth (BW) are examined to minify the network saturation and reduce the energy harvesting of the tags.

This paper proposes a particular and effective online sequence planning method to help manipulators complete complex assembly tasks. In many existing studies, the workpiece is constrained to be placed at a particular initial position. To overcome this drawback, we combine the ant colony algorithm with a target detection algorithm, which could get the positions of the workpieces in real time for online sequence planning. In addition, the constraint and obstacle avoidance of different workpieces in the assembly process is also considered. According to the experiment results, an observation is found that the new method is superior to the general way in terms of efficiency and cost function value. Furthermore, the proposed method effectively solves different practical and feasible assembly sequence planning problems. © 2023 IEEE.

Under the example of ±800 kV DC composite insulator sample model which provided by southern power grid technology center in this paper. To calculate the surface electric field distribution characteristics and surface current density and umbrella voltage, a series of three-dimensional electric field calculation models was established by changing the composite insulator surface filth type and the setting of pollution levels of the composite insulator. The results show that the electric field distribution on the surface of the composite insulator under uniform wet pollution is generally linear along the voltage distribution on the surface of the insulator, but the voltage distribution on the surface of the insulator is locally uneven due to the uneven diameter of the insulator's umbrella skirt and pole diameter. When the pollution turn into wet, the voltage and electric field distribution characteristics of the composite insulator are seriously distorted. The current density of the part with small diameter of composite insulator is large, and the current density distribution on the whole composite insulator changes in an overall cycle according to this law. © 2021 IEEE.

Silicone rubber has been widely applicated in the electrical field, especially used as insulation materials, due to its excellent physical properties. However, the performance of silicone rubber will decline with its aging process leaded by plenty of factors. There's lack of methods for overall nondestructive characterization of the aging degree of silicone rubber in use presently. In this paper, the thermal aging experiment of silicone rubber is designed, and the nonlinear coefficient of the sample is measured by nonlinear ultrasonic method during the aging process, the change of the nonlinear coefficient of the sample during the aging process is analyzed, the rule of thermal aging of silicone rubber is summarized, and the feasibility of using the nonlinear coefficient as the aging characterization of silicone rubber is discussed.

In practical applications, clamping force must be applied to eliminate the contact thermal resistance between D ouble-sided cooling (DSC) module and heatsink to ensure good heat dissipation performance. The clamping force determines the thermal performance of the DSC module, and also affects its long-term reliability. However, the effect of clamping force on the power cycle life of DSC module is rarely studied. In this paper, Firstly, it was found that among three cooling fixtures, fixture B has better uniformity pressure distribution on the surface of DSC module through Fuji paper test. Secondly, A 3D finite element model of DSC module was established after thermal calibration, the power cycling lifetime was simulated with Coffin-mason lifetime model under different clamping forces and two situations of the same junction temperature fluctuation which ΔTj=100K, Tjmax=150° C and the same power loss with P loss=603 W discussed respectively. Finally, the simulation results show that lower clamping force will lead to a decrease in the lifetime of the module because of the change of temperature distribution, and higher clamping force will cause additional stress on the chip and also increase the system cost. © 2023 IEEE.
