Advances in the treatment of multi-pollutant flue gas in China's building materials industry

In most of the world’s building material industries,the control of flue gas pollutants mainly focuses on a single ***,given the large capacity and high contribution of China’s building materials industry to global air pollution,the need to develop multipollutant emission reduction technology is ***,China has focused on reducing the emissions of flue gas pollutants in the building materials industry,established many key research and development projects,and gradually implemented more stringent pollutant emission *** project focuses on the most recent advances in flue gas emission control technology in China’s building materials industry,including denitration,dust removal,desulfurization,synergistic multi-pollutant emission reduction,and the construction of pilot research and demonstration projects for pollutant removal in several building material *** this basis,revised pollutant limits in flue gas emitted in China’s building material industry are proposed.

Superhydrophobic ceramic membrane coupled with a biphasic solvent for efficient CO_(2)capture

An innovative strategy was proposed by integration of membrane contactor(MC)with biphasic solvent for efficient CO_(2) capture from flue *** accessible fly ash-based ceramic membrane(CM)underwent hydrophobic modification through silane grafting,followed by fluoroalkylsilane decoration,to prepare the superhydrophobic membrane(CSCM).The CSCM significantly improved resistance to wetting by the biphasic solvent,consisting of amine(DETA)and sulfolane(TMS).Morphological characterizations and chemical analysis revealed the notable enhancements in pore structure and hydrophobic chemical groups for the modified *** of wetting/bubbling behavior based on static wetting theory referred the liquid entry pressure(LEP)of CSCM increased by 20 kPa compared to pristine *** with traditional amine solvents,the biphasic solvent presented the expected phase *** experiments demonstrated that the CO_(2) capture efficiency of the biphasic solvent increased by 7%,and the electrical energy required for desorption decreased by 32%.The 60-h continuous testing and supplemental characterization of used membrane confirmed the excellent adaptability and durability of the *** study provides a potential approach for accessing hydrophobic ceramic membranes and biphasic solvents for industrial CO_(2) capture.

Mercury records from natural archives reveal ecosystem responses to changing atmospheric deposition

Global ecosystems face mercury contamination, yet long-term data are scarce, hindering understanding of ecosystem responses to atmospheric Hg input changes. To bridge the data gap and assess ecosystem responses, we compiled and compared a mercury accumulation database from peat, lake, ice and marine deposits worldwide with atmospheric mercury deposition modelled by GEOS-Chem, focusing on trends,magnitudes, spatial–temporal distributions and impact factors. The mercury fluxes in all four deposits showed a 5-to 9-fold increase over 1700–2012, with lake and peat mercury fluxes that generally mirrored atmospheric deposition trends. Significant decreases in lake and peat mercury fluxes post-1950 in Europe evidenced effective environmental policies, whereas rises in East Asia, Africa and Oceania highlighted coal-use impacts, inter alia. Conversely, mercury fluxes in marine and high-altitude ecosystems did not align well with atmospheric deposition, emphasizing natural influences over anthropogenic impacts. Our study underscores the importance of these key regions and ecosystems for future mercury management.

The ecosystems within agro-pastoral transition zones exhibit inherent fragility and heightened susceptibility to climate variability,exacerbated by profound degradation resulting from anthropogenic *** vegetation degradation in these areas precipitates severe soil erosion,presenting formidable challenges for ecological restoration *** utilization of microtopographic structures to mitigate soil erosion and facilitate vegetation recovery stands as a prominent strategy for vegetation restoration within agro-pastoral transition *** the acknowledgment in current restoration practices that the efficacy of microtopography-based restoration is contingent upon slope,aspect and elevation,there remains a notable absence of precise observed information on this *** study,conducted in the Bashang Grassland,a typical agro-pastoral transition zone in northern China,aims to fill the information gap concerning the correspondence between microtopographic structures and restoration *** findings revealed that microtopography has a significant impact on vegetation characteristics,with outcomes varying by *** slopes displayed higher biomass and density compared with sunny slopes and *** microtopography affected community structure,it did not substantially alter species richness,highlighting the critical role of location and pit construction in successful restoration *** study provides insights for the selection,design and assessment of microtopography-based restoration in vulnerable ecosystems.

Evolution hydrothermal aging resistance mechanism study of zirconium and manganese doped CeO_(2)catalysts in soot catalytic combustion based on low Miller indices crystal surface effect

The thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)experiments were carried out to reveal the mechanism of Zr and Mn doping on catalytic activity of CeO_(2)catalyst both fresh and after hydrothermal aging,and the lattice morphology and valence changes were characterized by means of Brunauer-Emmett-Teller(BET)method,X-ray diffraction(XRD),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and H_(2)-temperature programmed reduction(H_(2)-TPR).Density functional theory(DFT)and molecular thermodynamics calculations were applied to investigate the change in catalytic activity,crystal surface energy and crystal morphology caused by hydrothermal *** maximum reaction rate temperature of fresh Mn/CeO_(2)(389℃)is similar to that of CeO_(2)(371℃)and lower than that of Zr/CeO_(2)(447℃),but the catalytic performance of CeO_(2)decreases more severely after hydrothermal *** catalyst crystals show different degrees of crystal surface migration after hydrothermal aging,which leads to the reduction of Ce^(3+)/Ce^(4+) ratio and the active sites *** calculations indicate that the doping of Zr and Mn reduces the surface energy of the low Miller indices surface and increases the oxygen vacancy formation energy,leading to better thermal stability and lower catalytic *** Zr and Mn doping also changes the adsorption energy and Gibbs free energy of H_(2)O,which dominates the migration of(111)to(110)and(100)in the vapor *** crystal surface migration mechanism of CeO_(2)catalysts doped with Zr and Mn induced by H_(2)O molecules at high temperature obtained in this study can provide a valuable addition to the regeneration of CeO_(2)catalysts in the after-treatment systems of diesel engines.

Microdynamic modulation through Pt–O–Ni proton and electron“superhighway”for pH-universal hydrogen evolution

Optimizing the microdynamics in alkaline and neutral conditions is a significant but challenging task in developing pH-universal hydrogen evolution(HER)***,a unique Pt-O-Ni bridge has been constructed to alter the coordination and electronic environment between Pt nanoparticles(Pt_n)and nickel metaphosphate(NPO)substrate(Pt-NPO).Sufficient electron transfer from NPO to Pt_n to maintain an electron-rich environment and a low valence state of Pt_***,H*is produced from the H_(2)O dissociation on Ni site and then spillover toward Pt sites to bind into H_(2),which makes up for the insufficient H_(2)O dissociation ability of Pt in Volmer ***-NPO exhibits long-term stability and only need the overpotentials of 22.3,33.0 and 30.5 mV to attain 10 mA cm^(-2)in alkaline,neutral and acidic media,*** anion-exchange membrane(AEM)water electrolyzer catalyzed by Pt-NPO shows high water electrolysis performance that a cell voltage of 1.73 V is needed to obtain the current density of500 mA cm^(-2)in 1 M KOH at 80℃,at the same time maintains good stability for 350 *** regulation strategy proposed in this work is helpful for the design and synthesis of highly efficient pH-universal HER electrocatalysts.

Precise Compound control of Loading Force for Electric Load Simulator of Electric Power Steering Test Bench

Electric load simulator(ELS) systems are employed for electric power steering(EPS) test benches to load rack force by precise control. Precise ELS control is strongly influenced by nonlinear factors. When the steering motor rapidly rotates, extra force is directly superimposed on the original static loading error, which becomes one of the main sources of the final error. It is key to achieve ELS precise loading control for the entire EPS test bench. Therefore, a three-part compound control algorithm is proposed to improve the loading accuracy. First, a fuzzy proportional–integral plus feedforward controller with force feedback is presented. Second, a friction compensation algorithm is established to reduce the influence of friction. Then, the relationships between each quantity and the extra force are analyzed when the steering motor rapidly rotates, and a net torque feedforward compensation algorithm is proposed to eliminate the extra force. The compound control algorithm was verified through simulations and experiments. The results show that the tracking performance of the compound control algorithm satisfies the demands of engineering practice, and the extra force in the ELS system can be suppressed by the net torque corresponding to the actuator’s acceleration.

Modulation of the surface electron distribution is a challenging problem that determines the adsorption ability of catalytic ***,we address this challenge by bridging the inner and outer layers of the core–shell structure through the bridge Br *** shell wrapped copper bromide nanorods(CuBr@C)are constructed for the first time by chemical vapour deposition with hexabromobenzene(HBB).HBB pyrolysis provides both bridge Br atom and C *** C shell protects the stability of the internal halide structure,while the bridge Br atom triggers the rearrangement of the surface electrons and exhibits excellent electrocatalytic ***,the hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)activity of CuBr@C is significantly better than that of commercial N-doped carbon nanotubes,surpassing commercial Pt/C at over 200 mA·cm^(−2).Density functional theory(DFT)calculations reveal that bridge Br atoms inspire aggregation of delocalized electrons on C-shell surfaces,leading to optimization of hydrogen adsorption energy.
