Spinel nickel vanadate has not been synthesized and applied to anode for lithium-ion batteries on account of the missing synthetic route. In the study, a simple route is created to obtain a new spinel Ni2VO4/acetylene black composite. The obtained Ni2VO4 nanoparticles are ultrasmall and anchored on acetylene black, which could markedly mitigate the volume alteration and elevate electrochemical reaction kinetics. For this reason, a large reversible capacity of 511 mAh g-1 was maintained at 350th cycle under 1 A g-1. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The adaptive mesh refinement(AMR) is important for simulation of macrowave devices. It contributes to obtaining more accurate results. When AMR is based on recovery type(RC), the refinement is limited to the characteristics of field distribution. This paper presents a AMR method based on residual type(RS). Based on the solved equation and the solution of each element, the posteriori error estimates can be used for refinement directly.

The periodic permanent magnet (PPM) focusing system is an important part of the traveling wave tube (TWT), which is used to focus the electron beams to pass through the beam wave interaction region stably. However, PPM field optimization is time-consuming, and the optimization results are closely dependent on the designer's experience. The automatic optimization method introduced in this paper, which combines magnetic focusing simulator (MFS) and Electron optics simulator (EOS) to calculate PPM and electron gun, can greatly improve the design efficiency, and the example has shown good performance.

Classical finite element method has been widely used in solving various waveguide and resonator problems. However, the filled dielectric material or the joint of the waveguide is possibly no longer uniform when the waveguide structure or material is irregular. In this case, the traditional two-dimensional port method will need to deal with following problems, such as boundary matching, energy loss and so on. In order to better achieve waveguide transmission, this paper presents a new eigenvalue analysis for two-dimensional discontinuous waveguides. Firstly, we adopt hybrid basis function form of scalar and vector basis functions to discrete a generalized eigenvalue equation. Secondly, we give a specific implementation of impedance boundary conditions, which can deal with some complex geometry and discontinuous materials. Compared with the traditional waveguide port matching technique, this proposed method can effectively solve the generalized eigenvalue equation, especially for lossy physical problems. Numerical results show that attenuation constant is in accordance with the HFSS software, which illustrates that this method is very convenient for simulation and design of discontinuous waveguide problems.

This paper proposed a fast optimization software for magnetic system based on MFS, the Magnetic Field Simulator of Microwave Tube Simulator Suite MTSS. The optimization software has two core functions: (1) Given the target system value of the periodic magnetic field, it can quickly optimize the magnetic field and get the single-ring value corresponding to each magnetic steel. (2) Given the single-ring value of each magnetic steel, it can quickly optimize the magnetic field and get the system value of the corresponding periodic magnetic field. The software is capable of adjusting magnetic system during the actual manufacturing process. Simultaneously, it establishes a seamless connection between magnetic system design and manufacturing, significantly reducing the design and manufacturing cycle of TWT.

A novel electron optics system is designed and simulated to support the project of “Forward and Backward Wave Feedback Circuit Terahertz Radiation”, which can emit, focus and transmit two different velocity electron beams with different shapes. The cylindrical electron beam with voltage of 16.38kV and current 0.013A and the annular electron beam with 5.7kV voltage and 0.013A current, which generated by the asynchronized electron gun, are injected into the interaction structure simultaneously. Furthermore, a uniform magnetic focusing structure, which constraining the beams with adjacent beam separation of 0.046 mm, can guarantee the transport stability in the interaction structure of 62.4mm. Simulation shows that the transmission of the dual-beam to 70 mm is 100% and the electron optics system meets the project requirements.

In the initial stages of operation for future tokamak, facing limited data availability, deploying data-driven disruption predictors requires optimal performance with minimal use of new device data. This paper studies the issue of data utilization in data-driven disruption predictor during cross tokamak deployment. Current predictors primarily employ supervised learning methods and require a large number of disruption and non-disruption shots for training. However, the scarcity and high cost of obtaining disruption shots for future tokamaks result in imbalanced training datasets, reducing the performance of supervised learning predictors. To solve this problem, we propose the Enhanced Convolutional Autoencoder Anomaly Detection (E-CAAD) predictor. E-CAAD can be only trained by normal samples from non-disruption shots and can also be trained by disruption precursor samples when disruption shots occur. This model not only overcomes the sample imbalance in supervised learning predictors, but also overcomes the inefficient dataset utilization faced by traditional anomaly detection predictors that cannot use disruption precursor samples for training, making it more suitable for the unpredictable datasets of future tokamaks. Compared to traditional anomaly detection predictor, the E-CAAD predictor performs better in disruption prediction and is deployed faster on new devices. Additionally, we explore strategies to accelerate deployment of E-CAAD predictor on the new device by using data from existing devices. Two deployment strategies are presented: mixing data from existing devices and fine-tuning the predictor trained on existing devices. Our comparisons indicate that the data from existing device can accelerate the deployment of predictor on new device. Notably, the fine-tuning strategy yields the fastest deployment on new device among the designed strategies. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The availability of computer memory resources is a crucial limiting factor in simulating the input/output systems of travelling-wave tubes (TWT). By employing the component array domain decomposition method (DDM) to simulate systems with periodic structures, it becomes possible to store only a single period's finite element model in memory. This methodology alleviates the need to store the entire finite element model of the periodic structure in memory, resulting in a substantial reduction in memory resource consumption during the simulation process. In this work, a novel transmission simulator by leveraging the DDM is proposed. This simulator is specifically designed for the analysis of input/output systems within TWT that exhibit periodic structures. The analysis results of the staggered double grating sheet beam TWT demonstrate that the novel simulator requires significantly less memory compared to other simulators, while maintaining the same level of calculation accuracy.

Strategy of Sb-substitution is carried out on the template structure Na4Sn0.67M0.33S4(M=Si,Ge),which affords a series of quinary sulfide-based sodium fast ionic conductors formulated as Na4-x[Sn0.67M0.33]1-xSbxS4(M=Si,x=0.1,0.2,0.3;M=Ge,x=0.2.).Among them,the highest ambient ionic conductivity(1.75×10^-4 S cm^-1)is achieved when M=Si and x=*** new fast ionic conductor Na3.8[Sn0.67Si0.33]0.8Sb0.2S4 is isostructural to its structure template Na4Sn0.67Si0.33S4 and thus crystallizes in the space group of I41/*** is shown that the incorporation of Sb improves the ionic *** study of lattice parameters shows that the improvement of the ion conductivity by Sbsubstitution is mainly due to the enlarged crystal ***,using Na3.8[Sn0.67Si0.33]0.8Sb0.2S4as solid electrolytes,room temperature all-solid-state sodium battery of Se0.05S0.95@pPAN/Na3Sn is realized,which proves the novel fast ionic conductor a potential candidate to apply in sodium solid state *** work not only extends the scope of Na4[Sn0.67Si0.33]S4,the I41/acd space group template,but also deepens the understanding of the lattice size effect on the structure and property relationship by aliovalent substitution.

We present a strategy for the design of metamaterial sensors to be used for detecting small amounts of dielectric materials by the shift of the metamaterial’s resonance frequency. The amount of frequency shift depends on intrinsic properties (electric field distribution, Q-factor, and mode volume) of the metamaterial’s bare resonators, as well as the overlap volume of its high-electric-field zone(s) and the analyte. Guided by the simplified dielectric perturbation theory, interdigitated electric split-ring resonators (ID-eSRR) are devised to significantly enhance the detection sensitivity compared to eSRRs without interdigitated fingers. The ID-eSRR's fingers redistribute the electric field, creating strongly localized field enhancement which boosts interaction with the analyte. Furthermore, the periodic change of field direction in the region of the interdigitated fingers significantly reduces radiation loss, leading to a higher Q-factor. Experiments with ID-eSRR sensors operating at around 300 GHz demonstrate a remarkable 33.5-GHz frequency shift upon deposition of a 150-nm-thick SiO 2 layer as an analyte simulant, with a figure of merit (FOM) improvement of over 50 times compared to structures without interdigitated fingers. This rational design offers a promising avenue for the development of highly sensitive detectors of thin dielectric films and trace amounts of biomolecules.
