Brushless doubly-fed generator (BDFG) as a stand-alone power generation has a wide application of variable speed constant frequency (VSCF) generator in some embedded generation systems, such as ship shaft generator systems. In this paper, an excitation control strategy for stand-alone BDFG is introduced, the similarities and differences of system structure and control strategy between the grid-connected and stand-alone BDFG are also analyzed and compared. Under stand-alone situation, the quality of stator power winding output voltage is strongly affected due to active and reactive power component of load, to tackle this problem, the steady equivalent-circuit and power flow of the BDFG is comprehensively developed and analyzed. The experiments included in this paper were carried out on a 4/8-pole 64kW wound rotor BDFG.

To investigate the quantitative relationship between the electromagnetic-shielding property of composites and the distribution of inclusions, a scheme for predicting the shielding effectiveness of composites containing variously-distributed flaky inclusions is proposed. The scheme is based on equivalent parameters of homogeneous comparison materials and the plane-wave shielding theory. It leads to expli- cit formulas for the shielding effectiveness of multi-layered composites in terms of microstructural parameters that characterize the shape, distribution and orientation of the inclusions. For single layer composite that contains random and aligned flaky silver-coated carbonyl-iron particles with fractions of different volume, the predicted shielding effectiveness agrees well with the experimental data. As for composites containing aligned flaky particles,the shielding effectiveness obtained by the proposed scheme and experiment data is higher than that the random case, e.g. about 20 dB higher at 750 MHz. The proposed scheme is a straightforward method for optimizing future composite de- signs.

A set of dynamic resonant magnetic perturbation(RMP) coils is installed inside the vacuum vessel to investigate the interactions between rotating RMP and the plasma on the J-TEXT *** coils are designed operating at a frequency up to several kilohertz. A large eddy current will be induced in the vessel wall and will bring about a strong attenuation of the magnetic field of the ***,in order to reduce the screening effect of the eddy current on the magnetic field,a proposal of inserting soft magnetic material blocks with high permeability between RMP coils and the vacuum vessel wall is put *** the segmented soft magnetic material blocks with high permeability between coils and the vacuum vessel wall,the magnetic field configuration is improved on one side of the vacuum vessel wall,most of the magnetic force lines pass into the magnetic material,and less into the vessel *** to these material with a high permeability,the magnetic force line 'attracted' by blocks around the materials,thereby reducing the eddy currents in the vacuum vessel wall,and the segmented insulating magnetic materials can't form a loop,thus the eddy currents induced in the material is relatively small,so that the magnetic field of the critical area is enhanced *** to verify the proposal have been carried out in the vacuum vessel,and the preliminary results indicate that the proposal is *** more detailed results will be given at the conference.

The Permanent Magnet (PM) Electrical Spindle Motor is an important component in high speed Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools. This paper provides a process to design a high-performance electrical spindle motor, concerning on the motor torque density and torque ripple. Considering the practical design constraints, the design and optimization are accomplished using 2D-FEA.
