The melting evaporation and thermal field emission of the cathode during the interrupting of the vacuum circuit breaker maintain the burning of the vacuum arc and form a near-cathode sheath. A one-dimensional implicit particle cloud/Monte Carlo (PIC/MCC) model is established, and the behavior of macroparticles is tracked to obtain the overall distribution of the plasma. The field information is obtained by solving the Poisson equation to push the particles, and the collision between particles is ignored. The simulation area is divided into three sub-domains: quasi-neutral area, transition area, and sheath area, and the particles moving to the boundaries will be removed. The relationship between sheath thickness, plasma density, and electron temperature is obtained by simulation. When the plasma density is between 1017m−3−1023m−3 and the electron temperature between 1−5eV, the numerical simulation results are in good agreement with the analytical formulas, which verifies the correctness of the PIC model. The effect of the applied transverse magnetic field on the development of the sheath in a vacuum arc is also investigated. © 2023, Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd.

The increasing integration of cyber-physical systems has markedly amplified the vulnerability of power systems to False Data Injection Attacks (FDIAs), posing significant threats to their security and reliability. FDIAs can emulate various power system dynamics, each with distinct objectives, potentially leading to incorrect decisions by operators or causing damage that may go undetected initially. The impact of these attacks often hinges on their specific signatures, which reflect the temporal characteristics of the injected data waveforms. Therefore, precise classification of these attack signatures is essential for predicting their potential effects and devising effective countermeasures. This paper addresses this challenge by proposing the use of the VGG16 network, a deep learning model commonly utilized in computer vision, to classify the attack signatures. Leveraging VGG16's ability to identify complex patterns in data, the pro-posed method offers a robust solution for distinguishing between different types of FDIAs. Experimental validation on the IEEE 39-bus system confirms the effectiveness of this approach in improving the detection and classification of FDIAs.

The loss of velocity sensor data may cause serious problems during high-speed operation. To tackle this issue, a velocity estimation method of high-speed linear induction motors (HS-LIM) is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the state equations of voltage, current, and velocity are established in a synchronous coordinate system to determine the relationship between voltage and velocity. Secondly, the voltages of each stator section are used to synthesize the voltage sawtooth wave, which has the complete velocity information. Finally, the velocity and the estimation parameters at the switching point are based on the voltage sawtooth wave. The simulation experiment verifies that the method can accurately estimate the mover velocity of HS-LIM. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd. 2025.

Since transverse emittance serves as a critical parameter for evaluating the performance of an electron-beam injector, accurate emittance measurement directly affects the engineering realization of not only the injector but also the entire accelerator-based facility involved. Based on the typical beam injector developed at Huazhong University of Science and technology (HUST injector), the quadrupole magnet scanning (Q-scanning) method is employed for emittance measurement. Suitable selections are made for the existing devices within the beamline, which reduce the measurement errors associated with emittance. An analysis is conducted on the selected quadrupole magnets (Q-magnets), along with an examination of the impact of fringe fields on emittance measurements, including the effects of different edge field conditions and the direct representation of fringe fields in the transfer matrix. The analysis results clearly demonstrate the importance of device selection in the Q-scanning method and the direct effects of fringe fields on various aspects.

Quadrupole magnet is an important element in the beam transport and manipulation. Permanent magnet quadrupole (PMQ) lenses appear frequently in various beamline attributed to their compact structure. In this paper, a method applicable to the fringing field transformation of a short permanent magnet quadrupole lens is proposed. The large electron beam envelope error, which occurs during the focusing process of short PMQ lenses, has been addressed. This achieved by replacing sharp cut-off fringing field with multi-rectangle cut-off fringing field. The causes of fringe field transformation errors are investigated by theoretical calculations of beam dynamics. The law of magnetic field gradient curve change of a short PMQ lens is analyzed. The scale parameters in the multi-rectangle approximation method are optimized by multi-particle tracking and finite element simulation. Applying the method to PMQ lenses of varying mechanical lengths confirms the feasibility and universality of the multi-rectangle approximation method for PMQ fringe field transformation.

The detailed density perturbations provided by the advanced polarimeter-interferometer system(Polaris) during sawtooth collapse on the Joint Texas Experimental Tokamak(J-TEXT) are reported in this *** a sawtooth collapse and the crash of plasma pressure at the center,it is found that the increase in density in the region between the inversion radius and mixing radius is poloidally asymmetrical,while the increase in temperature is poloidally *** poloidal location where the density increases is dependent on the phase of the precursory m/n=1/1 kink *** is always out of phase with the hot core of the m/n=1/1 *** behaviors of density perturbations during sawtooth collapse observed in J-TEXT are beyond the expectations of the standard model,and this can shed new light on the understanding of sawtooth collapse.

This paper mainly designs a high-power free electron laser injector system, which has a low-emittance electron gun using a gridded thermionic cathode. The distance between the anode and the radio frequency cavity exit is designed to be as short as possible in the manufacturing level. In the process of optimizing the electron gun, simulation by cell signaling technology is mainly conducted on the effects of the shape, hole spacing, wire size, and thickness of the grid on the electron beam's emittance, particle passing rate and so on. Therefore, the optimal parameters of the electron gun, especially the structure of the grid and the grid bias voltage, are obtained, generating a uniformly distributed current with current intensity of 0.5 A, the pulse length of 1 ns, and a normalized root mean square emittance of 1.6 mmmrad. In order to reduce the increase in emittance caused by the space charge effect in the low energy region, a -50 kV electron gun is connected to a 476 MHz sub-harmonic buncher through a drift section with the solenoid. The optimization in Parmela resulted in excellent longitudinal phase space, beam spot size, and emittance of the electron beam at the injector exit. © 2023 IEEE.

The phase difference Δξ between locked islands(2/1 and 3/1) has been found to influence the heat transport on the thermal quench during disruptions by numerical modeling [Hu Q et al *** 59,016005].To verify this experimentally,a set of resonant magnetic perturbation(RMP) coils is required to excite coupled magnetic islands with different Δξ.The spectrum analysis shows that the current RMP coils on J-TEXT can only produce sufficient 2/1 and 3/1RMP fields with a limited phase difference of Δξ∈[-75°,75°].In order to broaden the adjustable range of Δξ,a set of coils on the high field side(HFS) is proposed to generate 2/1 and 3/1 RMP fields with Δξ=180°.As a result,RMPs with adjustable Δξ∈[-180°,180°] and sufficient amplitudes could be achieved by applying the HFS coils and the low field side(LFS)*** work provides a feasible solution for flexible adjustment of the phase difference between m and m+1 RMP,which might facilitate the study of major disruptions and their control.
