Enzyme immobilization is a splendid way in a majority of industrial processes. However, traditional technologies still remain some defects, like multiple steps, vigorous chemical reaction with carrier surface, etc. Plasma material surface modification is a novel and convenient way for enzyme immobilization on polymer materials. Up till now, very little has been reported for lipase immobilization on natural bacteria cellulose by using atmospheric pressure low temperature plasma. In this paper, an atmospheric pressure Dielectric Barrier Discharge (DBD) was introduced to modify lipase immobilization and activity on bacteria cellulose (BC) membrane. He plasma treatment and He with NH3·H2O plasma treatment presented opposite results, while He with NH3·H2O plasma treatment largely enhanced the lipase immobilization and activity, however, the former decreased on the contrary. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), pore size distribution, surface area, average pore size, water contact angle and ATR-FTIR measurements showed that the enhancement of lipase immobilization amount and activity on natural bacteria cellulose membrane He with NH3·H2O plasma treatment can be explained as follows: (1) Natural straight chain structure of bacteria cellulose was broken into granule-like glucose units (~50nm diameter);(2) These structure change affected pore size distribution on surface, which leaded to enlarged surface area and reduced average pore diameter;(3) At the same time, increased water contact angle leaded to less hydrophilic bacteria cellulose membrane, but much better for lipase immobilization and activation. Situation is inverse in the He plasma treatment group. © 2021 IEEE.

The magnetizing inductance in linear induction motor (LIM) is heavily influenced by the dynamic end effect. Considering that the accuracy of magnetizing inductance usually plays an important role in control system, an online magnetizing inductance estimation strategy for LIM is proposed in this paper. It is based on the back electromotive force (EMF) model reference adaptive system (MRAS) and second-order sliding-mode supertwisting algorithm (STA). Compared to the conventional flux based MRAS identification strategy, there is no pure integration and differential operation in both reference and adaptive models for the proposed method so that integral initial values, DC bias and high-frequency-noise amplification problems can be solved. Stability analysis is given by using the Popov's criterion for hyperstability. Comprehensive simulation and experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness. © 2021 IEEE

Both droop control and virtual synchronous generator (VSG) control can be widely seen used in voltage source inverter. Among them, the virtual inertia and damping characteristics VSG control has the ability to provide virtual inertia factors that droop control does not have, but its active power response speed is very slow, and there is a large overshoot. Aiming at the problem of poor active power transient characteristics of VSG control, a generalized VSG control strategy is proposed. First, the article analyzes the transient characteristics of the active power-frequency loop of droop control and VSG control, and derives the generalized VSG control strategy. Then, according to the system model, the influence of the pole-zero point of the main controller of generalized VSG control strategy on the frequency response speed, the response speed and overshoot of active power is analyzed. And on this basis, a parameter design parameter design method is given, which can eliminate active power overshoot and make the active power response as fast as possible while keeping the frequency response speed unchanged. Finally, an inverter grid-connected bench was built to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed generalized VSG control strategy. © 2021 IEEE.

Cold atmospheric plasmas (CAPs) driven by high voltage pulse power supply have various advantages in various applications, such as high reactivity, easy ignition and energy saving, etc. Design specific high voltage pulse power supply powered by renewable energy like photovoltaic cells (PV) could further enhance the application potential of CAPs. Here, a high voltage pulse power supply directly driven by PV was designed and the main parameters of 500Hz to 5kHz frequency, lμs to 10μs pulse width and over 10kV amplitude were obtained in this investigation. We analyzed the design process of the topological structure, which was mainly composed of boost circuit, Marx generator and transformer. The design of the overall topology, the Marx generator, the circuit parameters selection and the auxiliary circuit for IGBT were introduced and discussed in detail. The high voltage pulse power supply was developed and tested with three typical CAPs sources. This designed power supply exhibited excellent working performance with stable output of CAPs load. Further optimization of the power supply was also discussed in the end. © 2021 IEEE.

In this paper, a parametric model of arc armature is established. And simulation models considering velocity skinning effect and pre-contact resistance are also established in this paper using COMSOL. Through this model, the effects of each parameter of the armature on the current distribution at the armature-rail interface are investigated, and by processing the results, the effects of different parameters on the current distribution at the armature-rail interface are compared. It is shown that the curvature of the arc surface, the amount of internal retraction and the length of the tailplane have the greatest influence on the current distribution at the armature-rail interface.

The More Electric Aircraft and All Electric Aircraft are very important development directions of airplane in the future, which calls for high integration and reliability in their power systems. Recently switched reluctance motor and the three-stage brushless synchronous motor are widely used in the aeronautic starter/generator system. Considering the reliability and maintainability of the power system, as well as the power density and loss characteristics of the motor, synchronous reluctance motor can be used as both starter and generator. This paper develops a new scheme of starter/generator system using synchronous reluctance motor and DC/DC converter for low voltage high power drive situation. © 2021 IEEE.

Modular Multilevel Converter (MMC) is becoming more and more popular in High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) system recently since it can achieve high efficiency power conversion. However, numerous switching devices in MMC system generate severe electromagnetic Interference (EMI) during its operation. Common-Mode (CM) EMI is generated by the high frequency fluctuation of voltage on the power devices and the parasitic capacitance in the system which may threaten the reliable operation of the system. EMI filters are commonly used for EMI suppression. To suppress the DC side CM EMI in MMC system, this paper proposed a feedforward current based active EMI filter. A 5-level MMC simulation platform is built in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The feasibility of this method is verified by simulation results and the CM EMI reduction could approach 20dB within several MHz with the proposed active EMI filter. © 2021 IEEE.

Fast and accurate transient stability assessment (TSA) is significant for power system. Topological information is often ignored by some machine learning methods, which may have a profound influence for TSA. For the purpose of improving the assessment accuracy and the adaptability to topology changes for online TSA, graph convolutional network (GCN) is introduced. GCN can aggregate node features and topological information. A jumping knowledge layer is added to prevent overfitting by concatenating the output of every GCN layer. Steady-state features of power system that are got through state estimation from the SCADA system are employed as the input. Tests on IEEE 39-Bus system indicate that the GCN model has a higher performance than some other methods. Several system topology changes are considered, and good adaptability to different topologies is indicated. © 2021 IEEE.

The air-core pulsed alternator with miniaturization and light-weight is the preferred pulsed power supply for mobile combat platforms which have strict restrictions on volume and weight. After the air-core machine discharges to the load, massive magnetic energy remains in the alternator and the railgun due to the high residual currents. Usually, this magnetic energy is consumed by resistors in the circuit, but it leads to a low system efficiency. In this paper, two methods are put forward to get the magnetic energy reclaimed and thereby reused in the next projectile launching. One is to control the triggering signal of the rectifier circuit so that it can work as an inverter and the magnetic energy in field windings can be recovered into the kinetic energy in rotor. The optimum triggering angle is selected based on its value range calculated. The other is to design a resistance-capacitance absorption circuit installed on the muzzle to absorb the residual discharge current and realize the conversion of the magnetic energy in rails into the electric energy in absorption capacitor, which can be reused as an ignition capacitor. © 2021 IEEE.

The performance of conventional protections has deteriorated in active distribution networks (ADN) because of high penetration of distributed generator (DC) and solid state transformer (SST). In this paper, based on the features of short-circuit current fed by DG and SST, the current distribution characteristics of ADN are analyzed. Moreover, a networked protection scheme is proposed for ADN. This scheme compares the amplitudes of negative-sequence, zero-sequence and phase currents between different ports of grid component to realize fault identification. It can act rapidly and has the ability to cope with large transition resistance. Communication system only needs to transmit current amplitude, and synchronous sampling is not required. In addition, there is no requirement for voltage measurement, which will help to reduce cost. The effectiveness of the protection scheme is verified via simulation tests. © 2021 IEEE
