Extraction of intracellular valuables from microalgae assisted by the pulsed electric field is considered to be a promising approach and is receiving increasing attention. The influence of pulsed electric fields with different waveforms on the protein extraction of spirulina powder was investigated in this study. A pulsed power generator that can produce high-voltage pulses with arbitrary waveforms was developed. This device was utilized to generate pulsed electric fields of nine different waveforms (rectangle, half-sine, sine, two-step rectangle, triangle, oscillation superimposed on rectangle and sawtooth superimposed on rectangle) with the same amplitude and energy for protein extraction from spirulina powder. The results showed that pulse waveform played a significant role in the protein extraction of spirulina powder. Among the seven pulses, the bipolar sinusoidal pulse had the best extraction effect with an improvement of about 200% compared to the conventional rectangular pulse.

With advantages of strong drive capability,nested-loop secondary linear machine(NLS-LM)has great potentiality in linear *** its secondary structure with multiple loops,it is difficult to calculate the electromagnetic thrust of NLS-LM ***,in this paper,one thrust calculation method is proposed considering variable loop inductance and transient loop ***,to establish the secondary winding function,the modeling domain is confined to a limited range,and the equivalent loop span is employed by analyzing the coupling relationship between primary and ***,in order to obtain the secondary flux density,the transient secondary current is solved based on the loop impedance and induced ***,the electromagnetic thrust can be calculated reasonably by the given primary current sheet and the calculated secondary flux *** simulations and experiments have demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method.

the extensive use of composite insulators in the power grid, some insulators have abnormal heating phenomenon, which leads to abnormal fracture of insulators, which seriously threatens the stable operation of the power grid. The composite insulator mandrel is wrapped in a sheath, so it is difficult to contact the air, so it is necessary to study the effect of thermal degradation on the composite insulator mandrel in vacuum. First of all, the vacuum test platform was built independently, and the vacuum thermal degradation experiments of 1 h and 3 h were carried out at 200–600℃ for 5 h. Then, the macro and micro morphologies of the mandrel are studied. The results show that the surface color of the thermally degraded mandrel changes gradually from light green to light yellow, dark brown, brown and black under vacuum conditions, and crack pores appear in the cross section of the mandrel. The critical temperature for crack is 300 ℃, and the critical temperature for pores is 400 ℃. In addition, thermal degradation will lead to the cracking of epoxy resin, resulting in the surface of the mandrel changing from smooth to concave-convex, resulting in a 57-fold increase in the variance of its profile height. At the same time, it will lead to the exposure of glass fiber on the surface of the mandrel, and the degree of exposure can be up to 80%. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Large-scale photovoltaic grid connection will bring serious challenges to the adaptability of traditional relay protection, and distance protection is the first to bear the brunt due to its weak feeding effect. In this regard, this paper made the following improvements to the traditional distance protection scheme. For the protection of the large grid side, based on the negative and zero sequence networks under faults, a short-circuit impedance algorithm independent of the transition resistance size was constructed to solve the fault distance by using the sequence current conditions constructed by the negative sequence current suppression strategy of the photovoltaic field station side and the zero sequence current branching coefficients which were not affected by the control strategy of the photovoltaic inverter. When the protection on the grid side recognizes that the fault occurred in the zone and tripped the breakers, the feeding effect on the fault point disappeared and the virtual synchronizer control strategy was used on the photovoltaic field station side to ensure safe and stable operation during the fault. The protection can thus solve the short-circuit impedance triangle formed by the impedance relay, and then realize the calculation of the short-circuit impedance. The simulation results based on PSCAD/EMTDC show that the proposed scheme eliminates the effect of transition resistance, has high-ranging accuracy, can protect the full length of the line, can act as backup protection in scenarios where the pilot protection is not applicable due to communication failure, and has the role of fault ranging. © 2024 IEEE.

A Physics-Information-Enabled Self-Updating Method to Monitor Measurement Error of Capacitor Voltage Transformers

Understanding long-term monitoring measurement errors of capacitor voltage transformers (CVTs) is critical for acquiring accurate and continuous voltage signals from the power grid. However, existing methods cannot maintain good performance over the long term because they cannot update the initial model while primary voltages fluctuate nor maintain stability while measurement errors deteriorate. To remedy this problem, this paper proposes a physics-information-enabled self-updating method. Differences in fluctuations between primary voltages and measurement errors are illustrated based on the physical structure of CVTs. This information is then used to select samples that only contain fluctuations from primary voltages and update the model. Simulations on data from real substations show that its recognition accuracy reaches 90%. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Lithium-ion batteries are crucial for electric vehicles and smart grids, yet their performance degrades with charge-discharge cycles, leading to reduced capacity and increased resistance. Predicting the Remaining Useful Life (RUL) is essential for preventing failures and ensuring stable operation. However, estimating RUL is challenging due to its indirect measurability and the influence of various factors such as battery components, packaging processes, and operating conditions. This paper presents a Multimodal Attention Fusion Neural Network (MAFN) to forecast battery health and RUL using historical data. Trained on a diverse electrochemical dataset with various battery components and cycling conditions, the model integrates battery materials and electrical signals, capturing critical aging features for accurate RUL prediction. This approach advances rapid RUL estimation, enhancing battery management systems and supporting smart grid and carbon neutrality goals.

In sixth-generation (6G) wireless communication networks, spectrum map are crucial for network optimization and the intelligent management of electromagnetic spectrum. Spectrum map provide information on spatial power spectral density (PSD) distribution and spectrum resource occupancy. However, the complexities of urban environments and sparse PSD measurements pose challenges to accurately constructing high-resolution spectrum map. This paper introduces a Dual Attention Spectrum Cartography (DASC) method that utilizes channel features and spatial information through a joint spatial channel attention mechanism. This approach enhances the learning of propagation patterns and shadowing effects in complex environments, thereby improving the quality of spectrum map construction. Experimental results demonstrate that our method outperforms other deep learning models and interpolation algorithms in both performance and generalization capabilities.

The introduction of renewable energy will result in system load imbalance. Energy storage can accommodate the high penetration level of renewable energy. However, the existing discrete time-based operation method cannot accurately reflect the evolution of renewable energy. Accordingly, the energy storage does not get to make use of the well. This paper provides a continuous time-based operation method for energy storage under the large penetration level of renewable energy. Different with the conventional discrete time-based operation method, there is no need to divide the whole dispatch time duration into multiple discrete intervals. We illustrate the concept of continuous time-based operation method for energy storage and provide the corresponding mathematical model based on differential equations. Then, the Bernstein polynomial is adopted to linearize the primal problem into a linear problem. The proposed method is tested on the IEEE-RTS 79 system. Numerical results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in making full use of energy storage. Compared with the conventional discrete time-based method, the proposed method can accurately consider the change of renewable energy.

Pressure of vacuum circuit breaker contacts should meet the requirements of contact resistance, and inhibit contact bounce when short-circuit current is flowing. However, the value of contact pressure is often obtained empirically. This paper analyzes the worst electrical contact conditions based on the contact resistance of the electrical contact surfaces, and propose a method to calculate the contact pressure based on contact material, radius and short-time current withstand, which is based on the melting of the conductive spots. Finally, hrough the comparison of several sets of working conditions, it is verified that the calculation method is effective.
