This paper studies the fault current frequency spectrum characteristics of single phase ground fault in ungrounded distribution networks, and the fault location method based on it. Firstly, it analyzes the production mechanism of 2 nd major frequency component, and the relationship between the 2 nd major frequency component and series resonance frequency of the faulted line. Secondly, from the perspectives of lumped-parameter circuit, the relationship between 2 nd major frequency component and fault location is deduced. simulation cases are used to confirm the relationship. Last, the impact of load and initial fault phase angle on the 2 nd major frequency component are researched. simulation research proves the feasibility of the fault detection and location method based on frequency domain characteristics.

Energy storages are considered as a key solution in the novel energy system with high penetration of renewables. However, the current power markets are not designed for the participation of energy storage as it has a variable cost. This paper investigates an efficient mechanism in which the energy storage submits his levelized cost of storage, then the storage receives a Vickrey-Clark-Grove payment equal to the increase in social welfare attributable to his presence. This mechanism can encourage the storage to truthfully submit the true operating cost and thus help to optimize the system operation. Moreover, the increments of the storage’s own interests and the social welfare are coincidental, so it is incentive compatible. Numerical tests show the advantages of the proposed mechanism over the marginal pricing mechanism.

This paper studies the dynamic operation of a residential electric energy system with distributed renewable *** streams among the power grid, local renewable plant, storage unit, and demand are considered;the temporal volatility of renewable generation is described by an uncertainty set, and the optimal operation problem gives rise to a multi-stage robust optimization. To deal with the non-anticipativity issue, the robust model is solved via robust dual dynamic programming（RDDP）approach. The the cost-to-go function is approximated by iteratively updating the upper and lower bounds, which can be obtained from forward-pass and backward pass procedures. Case studies validate the performance and advantage of the proposed method.

With the development of science and technology, the hardware and software design of transformer intelligent measurement and control terminal is very important. Based on the hardware and software appization of internet of things, the design scheme of hardware and software structure is given. Supported by high-performance operating system, the terminal device can be upgraded flexibly through APP application software. The intelligent terminal pair can realize full data collection, full control and full fusion, and real-time exchange of key operation data with the power distribution master station. The intelligent terminal can support 5G communication and realize full compatibility of communication conditions downward. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Neither electromechanical transient stability analysis (TSA) program nor electromagnetic transient (EMT) programs can be used individually for the transient stability studies of the large scale AC/DC systems. This paper presented an electromagnetic and electromechanical hybrid simulation system, based on a frequency dependent network equivalent. Firstly, the framework and the main modules of the proposed hybrid simulation system were introduced. Secondly, the methods to calculate the equivalents of the electromagnetic side and the electromechanical side were introduced. The discussion on the difference between the traditional method and frequency dependent network equivalent (FDNE) and the flowchart of the hybrid simulation were also given. In the last part of the paper, AC system and AC-DC hybrid system are both used as examples to demonstrate the accuracy of the proposed hybrid simulation system's simulation results. © 2012 Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering.

Accurate assessment of the power generation capacity of the wind farm is the key basis for incorporating it into power system scheduling and other optimizing operation activities. Traditional evaluation methods, such as benchmarking wind turbine method, have higher requirements for input data, but many wind farms in operation for many years are difficult to meet such data conditions. A new power generation capacity evaluation method based on correlation analysis of adjacent wind farms is proposed in this paper. Meteorological data and power of adjacent wind farms are used as replaced input data based on correlation analysis between the target farm with its adjacent farms. First, anticipate wind speed data and then construct the wind power curve with three different neural networks to evaluate power generation capacity. Afterwards, adjacent wind farms are used as data sources to fit the power data of the target wind farm with the application of influence radius method, inverse square distance method and bilinear interpolation method. Finally, combined with data in the actual case, investigate the advantages and disadvantages of different methods in the evaluation of power generation capacity.

Advanced adiabatic compressed air energy storage (AA-CAES) could play an important role in power distribution system for mitigating the intermittency of distributed renewable generations and reducing the peak-valley difference of load demand, which requires to operate AA-CAES under off-design conditions. A power system dispatch oriented AA-CAES model was proposed based on the technically thermodynamic performance curves of compressor and expansion calibrated from experiments, highlighting the impact of AA-CAES part-lard features on charging/discharging efficiency and capacity. The proposed model is integrated with economic dispatch problem of power distribution systems, giving rise to a nonlinear program due to the state-dependent charging and discharging performances. The dispatch model is further linearized via piecewise linear approximation and special-ordered set of type 2, and its equivalent mixed integer linear formulation is presented. A modified IEEE 33-bus system is adopted to verify the effectiveness of proposed model for renewables accommodation. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Under the skin effect caused by the alternating electromagnetic field, the transmission line parameters changes with frequency, and different line resistivity, surge impedance, wave speed are presented in one line under the different frequency bands of signal. This phenomenon is usually called Frequency transmission characteristic, which is mainly discussed in this paper. This paper first studied the line resistivity, wave speed and surge impedance of zero-mode component and line-mode component in different frequency bands. Then, the line structure and its effection on Frequency transmission characteristic are presented. Last, the frequency transmission characteristic on a certain line fault is discussed based on a typical distribution system model. The research in this paper is meaningful for future study on the fault feeder selection and fault location technology based on traveling wave in the distribution system.
