The use of instant messaging (IM) application is very communal among smartphone users, as it delivers ease in interaction and communication. The speed at which technologies, growth, and expansion of networks infrastructure for high-speed data networks (e.g. wifi, 4G, etc.) are changing and the high number of IM applications are available. IM application usage is significantly escalating, also for doing illegitimate purposes, particularly to organize and coordinate criminal acts. They are practically exploited by the criminality groups involved when they target and interact with the victims, or try to run away from criminal occurrences. By systematically conducting a review to understand and to investigate IM applications topic coming from a number of scientific sources (e.g. manuscripts, metadata, files, etc.), a broader picture and opportunity to regain the valuable evidence in the investigation is academically provided. © 2018 IEEE.

The goal of this paper is to find out what are the steps in developing an application, the difficulty of it and future improvements. With this occasion, we chose to develop a weather application. A weather application is a very handy one, with daily usability and can be constantly updated to fit certain needs. Many people now rely on data directly from their smartphones and the weather forecast is something indispensable to have. The most commonly used development environment is Android Studio, the all in one developing tool which ensures full control on the application development.

A Dual-Band Printed Dipole Antenna for Unidirectional Radiation

This paper presents a dual-band printed dipole antenna for unidirectional radiation. The antenna is designed for the Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) system that operating on both the frequency ranges of 2.400 – 2.483 GHz and 5.15 – 5.85 GHz. Radiated elements of the antenna are flat conductors on the surface of FR4 printed circuit board. All elements are on the same side of FR4. Coaxial line is chosen for feeding. It makes the antenna good matching and easy to assembly. The antenna is simulated by computer program before fabricating a prototype. It provides omni-directional radiation but has a direction with the gain about 5 dBi at the central of both operating frequencies. It is appropriate for the system that desired the signal to radiate surround but has some direction together. The size of the antenna is 44.0 × 60.0 mm2. Advantages of the antenna are low profile structure, light weight, and can be fabricated with cheap material. So, it is a low-cost antenna.

A Wideband Printed Monopole Antenna with a Co-Planar Waveguide Feeding

A wideband printed monopole antenna with a co-planar waveguide feeding is presented. This antenna provides a frequency range of 1.7 – 6.0 GHz. It is a flat conductor on FR4 printed circuit board. The shape of ground and pole are rectangle that the 2 corners near the feeding point are 25 degree chamfered, symmetrically. The ground is etched to form a co-planar waveguide for feeding. For this work, the antenna is simulated by using computer program before fabricating a prototype. The antenna provides an omni-directional radiation same as donut shape at the low frequency of the operating band. The radiation pattern is change when the frequency is shift to high but still omni-direction. The bandwidth of the antenna is 112% between 1.7 GHz and 6.0 GHz with the reflection coefficient less than -10 dB across the band. Gains of the antenna are 2.3, 4.9, and 3.4 dBi at the frequencies of 1.8, 3.8, and 5.8 GHz, respectively. They are the 3 points of low-, central- and high-frequency of the operating band. The size of the antenna is 70.0 × 40.0 mm2. Advantages of the antenna are wideband, low profile structure, light weight, and can be fabricated by FR4 make it low-cost.

Irrigation Maintenance Priority Analysis (Case Study: Irrigation Areas in Salatiga City)

The absence of a standard reference and limited funds for determining the classification of irrigation maintenance and rehabilitation activities in the Salatiga become an important research nowadays. Budget funds for 14 irrigation areas come different sources. Those funds are limited only to support the maintenance activities, while the rehabilitation activities rely on funds from the provincial and central governments that are not easily to be approved. Therefore, it is necessary to analyse the classification and the priority of irrigation activities. In this research, the grouping analysis employs two assessment criterias, namely; physical condition of irrigation networks and irrigation performance indices. Assessment of irrigation performance indices according to PU Minister's Regulation Number 32/PRT/M/2007 is for technical irrigation status, therefore it is necessary to identify adjustments to existing conditions. The priority analysis of irrigation maintenance activities in this research uses Analytical Network Process (ANP) method. The criterias that are investigated are irrigation performance indices, area width, irrigation status, estimated cost and distance of warehouse to intake. In this research, 4 groups of identifying the classification of irrigation status, i.e. i) technical irrigation, ii) semi-technical irrigation with weir main building, iii) semi-technical irrigation with spring pond main building and iv) simple irrigation, are used. The results of the grouping analysis showed that 11 irrigation areas are included in irrigation maintenance activities. The results of the priority analysis of irrigation maintenance activities from the first to the last priority are; Kedungkopyah, Cengek, Kedawung, Andong, Banyuputih, Siluwing, Sijamban, Bonorejo, Siandran, Sijambe, and Plampeyan. By determining the priority of irrigation maintenance, the budget allocation will be more targetted.

Data clustering is a well-known data mining approach that usually used to minimizes the intra distance but maximizes inter distance of each data center. The cluster problem has been proved to be an NP-hard problem. In this paper, a hybrid algorithm based on Whole optimization algorithm (WOA) and Crow search algorithm (CSA) is proposed, namely HWCA. The HWCA algorithm has the advantages of the search strategy of the WOA and CSA. In addition to, there are two operators used to improve the quality of solution, namely hybrid individual operator and enhance diversity operator. The hybrid individual operator is used to exchanges individuals from the WOA and CSA systems by using the roulette wheel approach. In other hand, the HWCA performs enhance diversity operator to improve the quality of each system. More over, the HWCA is incorporated with center optimization strategy to enhance diversity of each system. In the performance evaluation, the proposed MPGO algorithm was comparison WOA and CSA algorithm with six well-known UCI benchmarks. The results show that the proposed algorithm has a higher measure of accuracy rate with comparison algorithms.

Wireless technology gradual growth in the latest years has facilitated it to bridge its applications operated extensively in many types of industry. Wireless sensor network (WSN) technology brings several benefits over traditional wired technology by reason of the lower cost, immense flexibility escalation, and scalability which is able to be obtained from the old-style one. However, in its application WSN still experience some constraints on resource limitations in the form: processor, memory and energy, and any more challenges that related to availability, reliability and security. Based on its benefits, limitation, and challenges, and also three systematic stages, the review study was performed. The result of study was portrayed in this paper. It is regarding investigation result of hybrid cryptography (HC, as one of defense methods) realized for WSN to methodically increase the security level and decrease the resources usage. The result concluded that HC was proven in escalating the security defense level and downgrading the resources use on WSN compared to symmetric and asymmetric algorithms.

Depth Image-Based Rendering (DIBR) is an approach to generate a 3-D image by the original 2-D color image with the corresponding 2-D depth map. Although DIBR is a quite convenient to convert 2D images to 3D ones, there is a disadvantage in DIBR system that it cannot reach real-time processing due to the computing time. Against this, this paper proposes a method which is based on discrete wavelet transform and adaptive edge-oriented smoothing process, to speed up the computing of the system. The proposed method still preserves the original texture and thus the proposed method not only preserves the vertical texture but also reduces at least 60% of the computing time of the DIBR system. © 2018 computer Society of the Republic of China. In this study, the dynamics and control aspects of a spherical rolling robot's lateral motion are investigated. An approximate, simplified to a single plane, mathematical model is derived using Lagrange equations to check stability of the system. Utilizing the fusion of sensor data, a precise orientation measurement is achieved. Document focuses on a synthesis of a PID controller reducing sideway oscillations that occur in motion of a spherical robot with internal pendulum mechanism.
