Conservation of Underground Water with the Ecosystem Approach to the Development of the New Towns in Bogor, Tangerang, Bekasi (Botabek) Region

The limited supply of clean water led to some residents in the city, as well as business and trade areas using underground water. Optimization of land used in the development of new towns and expanded impervious land surface, thus reducing infiltration capacity, resulting in an increased volume of runoff. The use of underground water and the reduced infiltration of rainwater resulted in a decrease in the underground water table. To maintain the underground water table and preventing land subsidence resulted from the use of underground water as raw material for clean water. The effort required is how doing underground water conservation. This paper discusses the development of new towns to assess the natural landscape as underground water conservation efforts on the development of the new town. The research method uses a quantitative approach to calculate the potential runoff using a soil conservation service, while to analyze the trend of changes in land cover using temporal spatial analysis, using descriptive analysis. The data used satellite imagery. The study found open green spaces, water bodies, and infrastructure in the form of green corridors can reduce runoff and maintain the underground water table.

Comparison Analysis Operastional Cost of Vehicle (VOC) Between Kayu Agung-Palembang-Betung Toll Road Plan with Existing Road

South Sumatra is one of the provinces whose development is very rapid in Indonesia. With the increasing development of centers of economic activity, politics, socio-culture and education make it an attraction for residents outside the city to travel to Palembang City. However, the condition of the eksisting highway which has become the driver's mainstay for travelling are not free of congestion. This causes travel time and Vehicle operational costs increase for every vehicle that passes the road. To overcome this problem, the government brought investors to build a toll road. The results of preliminary research show that people are still confused about the benefits through toll roads which are built besides travel time faster because they have to spend money to pay tolls. The main objective of this study was to determine the vehicle operating costs (VOC) using both roads with the Pacific Consultant International Method (PCI) and Industrial and Affiliate Research, Bandung Institute of Technology (LAPI ITB). Variable of the equation to determine the cost components is travel speed determined the Floating Car Method. The results show that the operational costs of vehicles (VOC) through toll roads are smaller when compared with existing roads. VOC of passenger cars that pass through the existing road in the morning Rp. 3395.45, trucks 2 axles loaded Rp. 5570.55 and trucks 2 axles with no payload of Rp. 3815.00, while if through toll road, passenger cars Rp. 2618.82 and trucks 2 axles Rp. 2918.71. In addition, information is obtained, more than 90% of drivers only consider fuel costs, they do not consider the cost of other variable variables in choosing a route.

Analysis of productivity and the need for heavy equipment on grade B aggregate foundation layers work (case study: Pekan Gedang road section, Batang Asai – Muaro Talang District, Sarolangun)

Grade B aggregate foundation layers are part of the road foundation that is located between subgrade and grade A foundation layers. The function of grade B aggregate foundation layers is to minimize the spread of loads to the subgrade. Road infrastructure is one of the factors that support an area development. Road improvements aimed to improve the social economy and open access to isolated areas of considerable potential for the development of natural resources. This research analyses productivity and the need for 5 types of heavy equipment on grade B aggregate foundation layers work (case study: Pekan Gedang road section, Batang Asai – Muaro Talang District, Sarolangun). Noted that heavy equipment specifications were used in project site same as the planned. The results showed that based on time schedule and project volume in this research can be completed properly and on time if using 5 units of dump trucks and 1 unit each for wheel loader, vibratory roller, motor grader and water tank truck, with productivity for wheel loader is 125.42 m3, dump truck is 2.69 m3, vibratory roller is 87.15 m3, motor grader is 57.24 m3 and water tank truck is 71.14 m3.

The comparison of empirical and finite element methods to evaluate soil foundation capacities for coastal dike

There are over 6,300km of coastlines in the North Maluku province of Indonesia due to tidal waves which originate from the pacific ocean. The waves deposit finely loosed materials and light soil formations on coastlines, therefore causing abrasion. A common example occurred in Toseho, Tidore, and Archipelago districts. Moreover, the local residence has been faced with this challenge for up to thirty years. For this reason, deliberations to construct a dike became significant, although, the soil properties are vulnerable. This reasearch, therefore, compares the empirical calculation to the finite element method (FEM) to ascertain soil foundation capacities. The results showed the safety factor, Fs, for dike height, Hd, of 3.5 m and width bottom, B1, of 12.5m appeared below 2.0 for soil friction s of 10~ 15°, while estimates above 2.0 depicts soil friction s of 20°. Furthermore, the soil stresses beneath the dike were determined empirically at qmax of 5.97 t/m2 and σs of 4.57 t/m2, while FEM evaluated the deformation elastic at 12.5 cm.

On the delay factors of the private construction projects in Medan city

The delay in construction projects undertaken by contractors is impeding the economic growth of a region. Medan city which is one of the big cities in Indonesia is suffering from it. This study aims to identify the dominant factors causing delays in construction projects conducted by private contractors. The interview method with questionnaires is used to involve 20 contractors, 10 consultants, and 10 owner representatives in the study. From the 45 identified factors causing delays, the highest ranking is the change of work demand by the project owners with 71.84% importance index.

Load-Displacement Response of Oil Palm Shell Concrete Compressive Test Using Digital Image Correlation

study of compressive strength of oil palm shell (OPS) concrete has been conducted by varying the content of admixture of silica fume and fly ash to increase concrete strength. Digital Image Correlation (DIC) was used as a tool to capture the physical change of concrete cube during the test which can be converted to load-displacement response by using open source sotware, Ncorr. It is evident that DIC can be carried out with ordinary camera DSLR which reveal from test result. Poison's ratio as a ratio between lateral and vertical displacement is succesly obtained. The value are between 0.2096 to 0.2264. Concrete strength improved by 30% to 43% by adding the admixture, silica fume and fly ash.

An analysis of the damage level and reconstruction priority of elementary school buildings in the Central Lombok District

In Central Lombok District, the allocation of funds for the rehabilitation of elementary schools is very small compared to the number of schools that need reconstruction. The percentage of classroom rehabilitation work based on the target schools only reached 9.96%. Consequently, it needs to study to analyze the damage level of buildings and find out the most influenced criteria in formulating decisions for selecting school priorities that must be rehabilitated. Due to controlled aspects and standards are quite a lot and more sophisticated, accordingly the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is the proper method for solving these complex problems. The sample in this study was 13 of the 25 schools that received special funds in 2018. The application of the AHP method was preceded by a survey involving experts who were competent in their fields. The results showed that the number of schools with moderate damage was six and severely damaged as many as seven schools. At the same time, based on the order of priority, building repairs are determined by the most influential criteria, namely the level of damage and primary education data.

Risk Management of Flood Disaster (A Case study of Kendal River)

Kendal River, which runs through the city of Kendal, often overflows causing flood for the immediate areas. This study uses the concept of risk management aimed at relevant stakeholders. Data analysis of this study applied the Risk Breakdown Structure (RBS) method to describe each classification of risk sources to risk sub-classification. The results depicted that there were 20 (twenty) risks of causing flooding in Kendal City, with 5 (five) risks being the main cause. According to the Central Java Provincial Government, there was a 35% risk at the extreme level, 60% at the high level, and 5% at the middle level. On the scale of risk acceptance, there were 35% classified as unacceptable, and 65% classified as unexpected. According to the Kendal District Government, there was a 60% risk at extreme levels and 40% at high levels. On the risk acceptance scale, there were 60% classified as unacceptable and 40% classified as unexpected. The results of this study expected to provide a guideline for stakeholders in risk response according to their role both at the Provincial Government and District Government levels based on priority scales.

Nonlinear dynamic soil structure interaction in adjacent basement

This research was conducted to analyze the lateral dynamic pressure distribution on the basement walls and amplification of earthquake motion on the surface using the finite element method Midas GTS-NX. Dynamic soil-structure interaction analysis was carried out by using a sensitivity program to influence soil conditions, earthquake acceleration in bedrock, basement depth, bedrock depth and stiffness of the basement structure with a distance between basements of 15,0 m. From this study, the lateral pressure distribution of the dynamic soil reaches the maximum at the base of the basement with an increase in pressure that is almost linear in soft and nonlinear soil conditions in medium and hard soil conditions. The greatest increase in gradient occurs at a depth of four per five basement walls measured from the surface to the bottom of the basement. The analysis shows that the dynamic lateral pressure distribution has a maximum value at the top end of the basement and tends to shrink to the bottom of the basement.

Determining the priority criteria and ranking of provincial bridge maintenance in West Sumatra using a combination of the Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process and VIKOR-Modification methods

There are many bridges that need to be maintained in a provincial road network, with limited funds for bridge maintenance, many bridge criteria (average daily traffic, economic benefits, fund budget, technical conditions, bridge hierarchy, spatial planning, flood potential, type of damage, erosion potential, age and surface concrete, etc.), and various levels of conditions, are a number of criteria that are taken into account in the decision making by the government as an institution responsible for the functioning of roads and bridges. The selection of bridge maintenance priorities in West Sumatra Province was decided through a coordination meeting between agencies, and sometimes relatively without going through sufficient technical analysis. This research initiated, the selected criteria to be taken into consideration, the order of the important criteria in the selected network segment. This study involved a number of road and bridge maintenance experts at the Ministry of Public Works, Road and Bridge Research and Development Institutions, as well as the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning of West Sumatra Province. A combination of Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (to determine weighted criteria) and VIKOR-Modification methods (to determine the order of choice of bridges to be handled) are selected. There are eight criteria that can be used in determining the priority of bridge maintenance, and the priority sequence of the most important are: bridge technical conditions, aging of the bridge, average daily traffic, economic benefits, road function, budget, disaster risk (Flood, Landslides, Tsunamis) and Spatial Plans.
