Quantum-Dot Cellular Automata (QCA) is a well accepted for the next generation computer technology as it is capable of overcoming certain technical limitations of existing CMOS technology. We have designed the Gray code counter using two-dot one-electron QCA. As the Set-Reset flipflop is the building block of the Gray code counter, we also designed the Set-Reset flipflop. Computing the potential energies we have substantiated and analyzed the proposed design and calculated the energy and power related parameters. We have also compared our work with the four-dot two-electron QCA architecture and found that the proposed designs are superior to the existing ones in terms of space utilization, energy and power dissipation. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2017.

Handwritten identification of digit, analysis of pattern has been a major area of research in the field of character recognition. Several models are formed by changing various values of weights when applied through the neural network. The paper analyzes the study of time complexity in two different algorithms KNN and CNN. The K-Nearest Neighbor Algorithm is used as a classifier capable of computing the Euclidean distance between data set input images. The dataset is fetched for training through neural network contains various (28 × 28) pixel size images and therefore, our first layer of neural network contains 784 neurons as input. We will analyze these images by varying values so as to obtain output layer of our network 10 neurons, each neuron if fixed gives any output between 0 to 9. After reading in data appropriately from MNIST and testing it on Gaussian distribution, KNN classifier then presented the result with Python tool. So, to avoid such a long waiting another algorithm Convolutional Neural Networks has been used. CNN has been implemented on Keras including Tensorflow and produces accuracy. It is then shown that KNN and CNN perform competitively with their respective algorithm on this dataset, while CNN produces high accuracy than KNN and hence chosen as a better approach. © 2017 IEEE.

This paper presents EinsteinPy (version 0.3), a community-developed Python package for gravitational and relativistic astrophysics. Python is a free, easy to use a high-level programming language which has seen a huge expansion in the number of its users and developers in recent years. Specifically, a lot of recent studies show that the use of Python in Astrophysics and general physics has increased exponentially. We aim to provide a very high level of abstraction, an easy to use interface and pleasing user experience. EinsteinPy is developed keeping in mind the state of a theoretical gravitational physicist with little or no background in computer programming and trying to work in the field of numerical relativity or trying to use simulations in their research. Currently, EinsteinPy supports simulation of time-like and null geodesics and calculates trajectories in different background geometries some of which are Schwarzschild, Kerr, and KerrNewmann along with coordinate inter-conversion pipeline. It has a partially developed pipeline for plotting and visualization with dependencies on libraries like Plotly, matplotlib, etc. One of the unique features of EinsteinPy is a sufficiently developed symbolic tensor manipulation utilities which are a great tool in itself for teaching yourself tensor algebra which for many beginner students can be overwhelmingly tricky. Statics is a backbone course for several engineering disciplines and also a pre-requisite for dynamics and mechanics of materials. Researchers have identified a lack of understanding of statics as a significant source of difficulties in terms of both conceptual understanding, representation of free body diagrams (FBD) and problem-solving ability. Our approach to improve the learning of the concept of friction focuses on students' understanding of acting forces and specific components of such forces of a system. The presented quasi-experimental study investigates how the use of visuo-haptic simulations can improve students understanding and use of FBD. Specifically, we compared two visuo-haptic simulations; one that explicitly visually depicts FBD of multiple objects interacting with different surfaces, while the other only provides haptic feedback while students engage in the same forms of interaction. Our results suggest that using the visuo-haptic simulator with FBD leads to better learning results. These findings support the hypothesis that appropriately sequenced visuo-haptic simulators with well-designed visual cues can help students to better understand and use FBD.

Remotely sensed images have detailed stored information spreaded over many spectral bands coving full Electromagnetic spectrum. This information needs to be carefully extracted based on the type of segmentation one is doing or on the type of objects to be classified. In this paper, segmentation of high resolution image is done through bi-level and multi-level thresholding techniques. For bi-level, traditional OTSU method is used and Differential Evolution with OTSU technique as its objective function is used for multi-level thresholding. Segmented results with both the techniques are shown and it is clearly seen that differential evolution with OTSU method yield better results.

Despite substantial declines since 2000, lower respiratory infections (LRIs), diarrhoeal diseases, and malaria remain among the leading causes of nonfatal and fatal disease burden for children under 5 years of age (under 5), primarily in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The spatial burden of each of these diseases has been estimated subnationally across SSA, yet no prior analyses have examined the pattern of their combined burden. Here we synthesise subnational estimates of the burden of LRIs, diarrhoea, and malaria in children under-5 from 2000 to 2017 for 43 sub-Saharan countries. Some units faced a relatively equal burden from each of the three diseases, while others had one or two dominant sources of unit-level burden, with no consistent pattern geographically across the entire subcontinent. Using a subnational counterfactual analysis, we show that nearly 300 million DALYs could have been averted since 2000 by raising all units to their national average. Our findings are directly relevant for decision-makers in determining which and targeting where the most appropriate interventions are for increasing child survival. © 2022, The Author(s).

A novel approach is proposed for the purpose of market analysis by optimizing the reviews of customers using differential evolutionary algorithm. The approach is further compared with the genetic algorithm for improved results analysis. The customer reviews are analyzed in terms of their hidden sentiments and these sentiments form the basis for the recommendation of a product in comparison to the other product reviews. The differential evolutionary and the genetic algorithms provide an advantage of optimized Sentiwords analysis and further enabling a more efficient product recommendation in terms of the reviews of that product, plus more. © Springer science+Business Media Singapore 2016.

Music is and has been an integral part of our society since time immemorial. It is a subtle display of a person’s emotions. Over the decades even though the way music is composed or heard has greatly evolved but what has remained constant is the entwined relationship it shares with mood. The kind of music one listens is to be governed solely by their mood at that instant. This paper proposes an automated and efficient method of classifying music on the basis of the mood it depicts, by extracting suitable features that show significant variation across songs. A database of 300 popular Bollywood songs was taken into consideration in which timbral and temporal features were extracted to classify songs into four moods: Happy, sad, relaxed and romantic. 200 songs were used to train the model by using Multilayer perceptron with backpropagation algorithm. The model exhibited an accuracy of 75% when tested over a set of 100 songs. © Springer science+Business Media Singapore 2016.
