Disasters are a global problem in many countries. Particularly in Indonesia,where has many prone areas to disasters. The perspective of disastermanagement has entered a new paradigm, from previously only focusing onemergency response activities to mitigation and preparedness approaches. Mitigation andpreparedness are carried out when disasters do not occur. Indisaster risk mitigation, it is necessary to involve active communityparticipation, especially in planning for disaster-related development. So far, the communities are mostly only passive object in the development program that only accepts any initiatives of disaster-based development made by thegovernment. The communities need to be placed as active subjectsparticipating in the disaster-related development in their community. Many disaster-based infrastructure developments so far still use the top-downmechanism, namely disaster planning, and management entirely based on the initiation of the government or organization. In Disaster Management Law No.24/2007, it is stated that the community has the right to be actively involved indisaster management efforts in their communities. This paper aims to identifywhat forms of community participation in disaster-based development,especially at the planning stage of infrastructure development activities. © 2020 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

An analysis of the damage level and reconstruction priority of elementary school buildings in the Central Lombok District

In Central Lombok District, the allocation of funds for the rehabilitation of elementary schools is very small compared to the number of schools that need reconstruction. The percentage of classroom rehabilitation work based on the target schools only reached 9.96%. Consequently, it needs to study to analyze the damage level of buildings and find out the most influenced criteria in formulating decisions for selecting school priorities that must be rehabilitated. Due to controlled aspects and standards are quite a lot and more sophisticated, accordingly the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method is the proper method for solving these complex problems. The sample in this study was 13 of the 25 schools that received special funds in 2018. The application of the AHP method was preceded by a survey involving experts who were competent in their fields. The results showed that the number of schools with moderate damage was six and severely damaged as many as seven schools. At the same time, based on the order of priority, building repairs are determined by the most influential criteria, namely the level of damage and primary education data.

Experimental study of shear strengthening by using abaca fiber as composite material of natural fiber reinforced polymer (NFRP) on reinforced concrete beam

The use of Synthetic Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) as a composite material, both external and internal to the structure, is one of the alternative materials that has been widely used for strengthening and repairing reinforced concrete structures. However, the high price is the obstacle in applying synthetic FRP materials in developing countries such as Indonesia. Utilization of natural fiber as a Natural Fiber Reinforced Polymer (NFRP) is an alternative because it is environmentally friendly and has good tensile strength. In this study, abaca fiber was used as a substitute for synthetic polymer fibers for the shear reinforcement of reinforced concrete beams. This study aims to evaluate the shear strength capacity of reinforced concrete beams and their failure behavior in the presence of shear reinforcement using NFRP. The benefit of this research is to provide an overview of the behavior of beams against shear reinforced with NFRP and later can be applied to the reinforcement and repair of reinforced concrete structures. The shear behavior of the beam reinforced with NFRP will be evaluated experimentally using a test object measuring 150x300x2200 mm with a design concrete quality of 35 MPa. Parameters used are fiber width, variation of layers, and configuration of NFRP attachment. The result shows that the addition of abaca fiber NFRP to reinforced concrete beams was able to increase the shear capacity. The increasing shear capacity of BSTV1 (25), BSTV1 (50), BSTV1 (75), BSTV2 (50), and BSTD1 (50) were 2.71%, 12.98%, 1.28%, 22.75%, and 6.65% respectively. (50)

Analysis the effect of moisture content of normal concrete using hammer test

The Hammer test as one of non-destructive concrete strength test should in a non-moist structural condition to produce a high accuracy reading. Since, the strength is only taken from the concrete surface which can be affected by moisture and does not represent the overall properties of the concrete samples. For this reason, hammer test is necessary to compare between the destructive test using a Compression Testing Machine (CTM) a standard concrete strength test and Hammer test. This research used normal concrete with the concrete strength target of 20 MPa, with variations in moisture measured at 0 day, 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, 4 days, 5 days, 6 days, 9 days 14 days and 21 days after removal from curing chamber, as well as the dried samples with 2 days oven to obtain low moisture. The concrete strength test includes compressive and split tensile strength using a cube sample with 15 cm size. The result shows that the compressive strength value of the Hammer test is lower than the CTM test of 12.34 MPa at 40% moisture, and the difference is higher as the moisture of the concrete surface increases. At various moisture content, the ratio of split tensile strength towards the compressive strength ranges 9.94% - 13.65%.

Structural performance level of two bridge piers subjected to the Pidie Jaya earthquake

Following the 6.5 Mw Pidie Jaya, Aceh earthquake, it was observed by the engineering reconnaissance team that several bridges in the region experienced a severe level of damage. The quality of bridge construction and the seismic regulation used for the design were thought to be a few reasons causing the damage of the bridges. This observation raised questions from the engineering community about whether the existing bridge across the Aceh region, in particular, has a sufficient capacity to withstand future earthquakes having similar magnitude to those that previously occurred in Pidie Jaya. Therefore, this study was undertaken to understand the seismic performance of existing bridges, with the focus on the pier bridge, to sustain earthquakes with a magnitude of 6.5 Mw or greater. Two bridges, including the Teunom Bridge in Aceh Jaya Regency and the Kuala Bubon Bridge in West Aceh Regency, were seismically assessed using the MIDAS civil software, adopting a pushover analysis method. The assessment results showed that the Teunom and Kuala Bubon bridges were forecast to exhibit minor damage when the ground motion exceeded 0.13g and 0.12g, respectively. The analysis results showed that the maximum lateral displacement of 10 mm was obtained for the Teunom bridge, which indicated that the pier was forecast to exhibit moderate damage. Meanwhile, the maximum lateral displacement of 28 mm was calculated for the Kuala Bubon bridge, which was predicted to experience extensive damage when subjected to the Pidie Jaya earthquake.

To protect the estuary from sedimentation and waves need a jetty structure. This study discusses the alternative jetty design to be simulated for waves and sediments. The research was located in Batang Regency, Central Java Province. The study objective is to simulate wave and sediment for alternative estuary protection. Preliminary data are collected include topography and bathymetry, tidal observation data that include research area. The secondary data were wind data from BMKG of Semarang Station. The wind data used was each hour data for 16 years in the years 2004 to 2019. To simulate the wave and sediment, a software MIKE was used for the two alternative design. The first alternative using 2 jetties with 100 m length and the second alternative using two jetties with addition length for east side. Based on the sediment transport simulation result, the second alternative design put less 5 cm a year then the first alternative. The evaluation based on cost, time period construction, construction methods, According to the scoring, the first alternative design will be choose to the design and construction step.

Orthotropic Levy-type solution plates considering shear deformation were solved by using the Spectral Element Method (SEM). In SEM, the exact solution of structural dynamic related problems can be solved by using the frequency-dependent shape functions. The solutions of SEM are accurate in decreasing the amount of Degree Of Freedoms (DOF) to discard the cost and computational disadvantages in the Finite Element Method (FEM). This study investigates the free vibration problems of orthotropic Levy-type solution plates solutions based on the two variable Refined Plate Theory (RPT). SEM for orthotropic Levy-type solution plates in the frequency domain was formulated to solve free vibration problems. The differential governing equations of the orthotropic plate element in SEM are formulated into the form of transcendental stiffness matrices. The boundary conditions of the spectral element model consist of four edge-type DOFs at each side of the orthotropic Levy-type solution plates. The natural frequencies of the plate are calculated by means of the Wittrick-Williams procedure. The numerical investigations are presented to show the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of SEM without any discretization scheme. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The development of the construction is growing rapidly, both large-scale projects and small-scale projects. In practice, when the project is seen in terms of cost and resources, construction has limitation. With this limitation, a construction project management is needed. Schedule planning and cost planning for a project is one part of construction project management. Apart from quality, the achievement of a project can be in terms of cost and time. A symptom of poor project management will cause irregularities in terms of project completion time and in terms of cost. With good project management it will be possible to take preventative measures so that the project is carried out according to plan. Planning work schedules and planning costs that have been incurred must be measured in advance. In its implementation, a project may experience delays, acceleration, or on time according to the project plan schedule. In terms of cost, implementation in a project may experience advantages or disadvantages. Schedule and cost management planning is something that cannot be separated from each other. In this study will examine what are schedule management's indicators and cost management's indicator that influential or most important in interior construction.

Analysis of Important Factors in Choosing or Using Process Alternative Dispute Resolution of Construction Project From Contractor's Perspective (Case Study in XYZ Company, Ltd's)

When a construction contract have been signed and going through execution, there would be a chance for disputes or disagreement due to the differences in construction interpretation as well as due to other physical and non-physical at the time of planning and construction of the project. According to Oberlender, Garold D, the disputes that generally happens in a project are being caused by several reasons such as the uncertainity of scope of work and being too focused on cost/project budgeting, timeline or schedule and quality. According to Law No 30 of 1999 about Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), a dispute can be solved using these methods: Litigation, Arbitration, Consultation, Negotiation, Mediation, Conciliation, and Expert Judgement [1]. The aim of this research is to give XYZ Company, Ltd or other construction company on how to deal with a construction project from private sectors and for future researchers about how to use the ADR effectively. The research methods are qualitative methods such as literature study from books, research paper as well as scientific studies in correlation with the XYZ Company, Ltd's dispute case by describing and Analysis those data collected from the references mentioned above. Measurement tool use three expert judgement or expert opinion respectively in their field. The research analysis will be taken from XYZ Company, Ltd's project data in the last 5 years which consists of three construction project.

The implementation of non-unit-based scheduling method in a housing project

Of the various types of construction projects, contractors often encounter repetitive projects. Many methods have been used for scheduling repetitive projects, but most repetitive scheduling methods have the basis that they are composed of many identical production units. Scheduling repetitive projects using unit-based methods has several constraints such as modeling and applying them to construction projects requiring simplification of repetitive activities to have a single duration and in a fixed production sequence. Therefore, a non-unit-based scheduling method is developed. In this analysis, the project data was obtained from a housing project. Based on the data, an analysis was conducted to look for the effect of changes in the factors used in the non- unit-based scheduling method on the final duration of the project. From the analysis it was found that the factors used in the non-unit-based scheduling method such as duration, priority order of activities, number of resource groups, and relationships between activities greatly influenced the final duration of the project.
