The Meninting diversion-spillway tunnel is a part of the Meninting dam project located in West Lombok District. The construction commenced in 2017;then, a series of severe Lombok earthquakes halted the construction of the tunnel for a while in 2018, where some landslides occurred around the site. This possibly caused rock masses around the tunnel to be sheared off during the earthquake events. Updated probability seismic hazard analysis shows increased seismic parameters, including peak ground, short spectrum and long spectrum accelerations, which then resulted in increased stresses around the tunnel. Thus, the stability of the tunnel decreased in terms of its factors of safety. Although, the overall factor of safety was about 2.5, the tunnel was still stable in current conditions;the tunnel certainly requires more stability improvements to face possible similar severe earthquakes in future. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Geothermal reservoirs are significant sources of renewable energy. Accurate geometric modeling of these reservoirs is essential for understanding the distribution of heat and fluid dynamics within them. This study aims to develop a geometric model of the Sibayak geothermal field using borehole data. Borehole data provide detailed geological information, which is crucial for constructing a realistic geometric model. The methodology of this research involves several key steps: the collection of borehole data from the Sibayak geothermal field, the construction of a 3D geometric model of the reservoir using COMSOL Multiphysics based on the borehole data, and the validation of the model through comparison with field data and previous research findings. The results indicate that the developed geometric model successfully identifies zones with high geothermal potential and provides an accurate depiction of the reservoir's boundaries and characteristics. Modeling the geometry of geothermal reservoirs using borehole data offers profound insights into the internal dynamics of the reservoir and can serve as a valuable tool for planning and optimizing geothermal energy exploitation. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. Base saturation flow is a critical constraint used for evaluating the capacity of signalized intersections. The Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM, 2023) is frequently used for signalized intersection planning in Indonesia. In heterogeneous traffic environments, the driver characteristics and behaviors exhibit significant variations. However, the base saturation flow was also influenced by traffic volume during the observation period. This study modeled the base saturation flow by analyzing differences in morning and afternoon peak hour data. The objective was to examine the base saturation flow at pretimed signal in Banda Aceh, with a focus on traffic volume fluctuations during peak hours. Four intersections were investigated in this study. Unmanned aerial vehicles were employed to record discharge flow pattern within targeted signalized intersection. Manual timing was conducted using stopwatches and geometric road data were collected through direct field measurements. Bayesian linear regression with a Gibbs sampling approach was utilized to recalibrate the saturation flow rate coefficients. The base saturation flow during the morning peak is 284 We, while in the afternoon peak, it is 285 We, with We representing the effective intersection approach. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. The Tamblang Dam break analysis using HEC-RAS 5.0.7 and PenRis hazard classification in Indonesia

Tamblang Dam is one of the dams, north of Bali Island, with a capacity of 7.6 million m3, and the downstream areas are in the form of agricultural land, citizen settlements, schools, offices, and other public facilities for approximately 10 km2. Considering such a downstream and its large capacity, the Tamblang Dam would have a significant damage impact if it is a failure. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the failure of the Tamblang Dam. The study aims to analyze the areas affected by floods due to the dam’s failures and to measure the damage risk. The failures were simulated using HEC-RAS 5.0.7 with four scenarios, such as overtopping, upper-piping, middle-piping, and bottom-piping. The simulation result showed that the Tamblang Dam’s failure with the overtopping scenario had the worst impact as it has the highest velocity and discharge compared to the other scenarios. The overtopping scenario inundated 355 ha areas along the river. Six villages would become the victims, namely, Bengkala, Bila, Menyali, Jagaraga, Bungkulan, and Kubutambahan. Tamblang Dam failures’ danger level was figured out in this research according to the PenRis Hazard Classification of Dams in Indonesia. For this case, it is found that 2527 residents are at immediate risk of flooding caused by the failures. Therefore, following the Danger Classification from the Public Work and Housing Guidelines of Indonesia, it can be stated that the Tamblang Dam is a 4-class dam with an extremely high danger status level.

The incorporation of information and communication technology (ICT) to improve infrastructure and establish a efficient and responsive environment is a key element of Denpasar Citys ambition to evolve into a Smart City. This research delves into the utilization of E Government, via the Dama Mandala app underscoring its significance in this transition. Through surveys and interviews employing a methodology the study demonstrates that the Dama Mandala app has greatly enriched the lives of Denpasar Citys inhabitants by granting them access to government services and information online. These results imply that the app plays a role, in realizing Denpasar Citys aspiration of becoming a culture oriented Smart City advancing towards the vision of Denpasar Maju.

The road of Cisarua - Ngamprah has winding conditions and can result in accidents from a geometric perspective. Some of the reasons are because the radius, visibility, and pavement widening at bends have inappropriate road slopes. This research aims implementation of centrifugal force in the geometric design of road for safety driving Conveniencet at the Cisarua sta. 0+050 -1+450. This research method uses evaluative and quantitative methods. Data collection is carried out by observing road locations and the agencies responsible for completing geometric traffic data. Data analysis was carried out on centrifugal strength calculation, the highway gradient, arch sharpness calculation, and centrifugal forces implementation on road bends. These actions are lumped through plunging the aftereffect of greater centrifugal force strength. Moreover, this implementation is also able to reduce the chance of accidents due to centrifugal force impacts based on road geometry calculations. Based on the evaluation and implementation of a smaller centrifugal force design, the use of a spiral-circle-spiral bend type with a transition curve can increase safety driving comfort.

Floods occur every year and threaten communities worldwide. Indonesia is among the countries faced with this problem and still struggling to seek practical solutions to date. Further, as the country’s centers of trade, business, and technology, the island of Java cannot even perform better in dealing with floods. To further understand possible damage and losses, this research investigated structural mitigation measures as part of flood management in the Pepe River, notably river channelization to increase hydraulic efficiency. For the analysis, it used HEC-RAS to observe the river capacity. Existing conditions revealed that the river could not accommodate the predicted floods based on the return periods derived from the synthetic unit hydrograph of Nakayasu. However, after running the mitigation scenario wherein hydraulic modification was applied, flood risk could be reduced by lowering the river water level. Based on the results, it can be concluded that Indonesia needs to pay more attention to other aspects: ecology, green infrastructure, and water governance, to achieve more effective flood mitigation measures because structural mitigation only provides a temporary solution. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Increasing amount of waste poses substantial environmental issues because poor waste management emits higher greenhouse gas (GHG, contributing to global warming and climate change. As Indonesia's most populous city, Jakarta faces challenges related to waste management. The city generates significant waste daily, with limited resources and funding to manage it *** study aims to analyze GHG emissions from Jakarta's waste sector and design management scenarios to optimize GHG emission reductions. The research examines local factors to determine the most effective scenario for Jakarta from three proposed waste management designs. The findings may serve as a basis for policymaking that promotes low-carbon and climate-resilient regional development. The study demonstrates that integrated waste management can significantly reduce GHG emissions compared to current practices in Jakarta. However, challenges related to policy and legal frameworks, stakeholder engagement, waste facility technologies, and financial resources must be addressed to achieve these reductions. © 2024, The Authors. Concrete has been criticized more recently because of the greenhouse gas (carbon dioxide) emissions it produces in the cement portland production process. With these considerations, a new concrete binder called geopolymer concrete was developed. One of the materials used in the manufacture of geopolymer concrete is fly ash. Using fly ash as a substitute for cement is considered to be able to preserve the environment and reduce development costs. In this study, the specimen used was cylindrical, with a diameter of 15 cm and a height of 30 cm. The concrete compressive strength test was carried out at the age of 28 days. Variations in concrete testing include: Test the strength of the concrete on the variation of the binder ratio: coarse aggregate of 20%:80%, 25%:75%, 30%:70%, 35%:75% 40%:60% and the variation of stirring time 5 minutes, 7.5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes. From the test results, it can be concluded that the optimum mixing time for the concrete mix is 7.5 minutes. If it is less than 7.5 minutes it will result in less than maximum binder binding power. And if the mixing time is more than 7.5 minutes it will decrease the adhesion of the binder. Regarding the variation of concrete on the amount of use of fly ash, it can be concluded that the higher the fly ash content, there is a tendency for low compressive strength, this is due to the influence of the water content used in the mixture is obtained based on the weight of fly ash in each variation. So if the weight of fly ash is higher, the water demand will also be higher and it will result in too dilute fresh concrete, so that the compressive strength of the concrete decreases. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The inclusion of rainwater often compounds the damage to the road before reaching the plan life through the surface and shoulders of roads. This can lead to the release of aggregates and exfoliation of asphalt on the surface layer. The study aims to determine the level of road durability against the Marshall, volumetric, and durability properties of the HRS-WC mixture. The study used various static loading 100 Kpa, 150 Kpa, and 200 Kpa with immersion. In the immersion method, there are two differences, namely, immersion with and immersion without loading. The test objects' loading using a simple and economical test tool utilizes the beams and iron cylinders obtained from the laboratory, testing using Marshall Test. The results of the analysis obtained the durability of unloading soaked value higher than the load. The analysis results showed that the durability of the mixture was soaked seven days with a load of 100 KPa was 77.40%, for 150 Kpa amounted to 52.02%, and for 200 KPa, which is 47.67%. Analysis results showed a 7-day immersion value with a cumulative load of 68.38%, while analysis results showed a seven day immersion value with periodic loading of 75.43%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
