Annotated data for semantic role labeling of crisis events in Indonesian Tweets

Social media platforms like Twitter provide essential real-time information about crisis events. Although the text data generated is rich, its vast volume and unstructured format make manual analysis challenging. Information extraction technologies such as Semantic Role Labeling (SRL) are needed to identify a sentence's semantic roles, such as who is the victim, what happened, when and where the event occurred, and what objects are affected in the crisis text to speed up and facilitate the emergency response process. However, the availability of public SRL datasets, especially for Indonesian, still considered a low-resource language, is very limited. We aim to develop an Indonesian-language SRL dataset based on Twitter text focusing on crisis events. This dataset includes entity labels for Named Entity Recognition (NER), another information extraction technique besides SRL. Text data was obtained through a crawling process on Twitter using specific keywords from 2018–2023, then preprocessed to obtain clean and relevant data for crisis events in Indonesia. The cleaned text data was then manually annotated by two experts based on guidelines designed to maintain consistency, resulting in 99,206 tokens labeled with SRL and NER. The high inter-annotator agreement value (Cohen's Kappa >0.90) indicates reliable data quality. This dataset is designed to support the development of automated models for information extraction, such as SRL and NER. The results of this extraction will be used for disaster impact analysis, mapping affected areas, and planning for crisis mitigation. By providing this dataset, the research opens up new opportunities for developing Natural Language Processing (NLP) in Indonesian, especially in crisis event analysis.

Design ethnomathematics mobile module to improve mathematics thinking ability

The aims of this study are (1) analyzing the need for teaching materials in the form of mobile modules in mathematics learning; (2) produce a draft outline of the ethnomathematics mobile module. The subjects of this study were the principal, mathematics teacher, seventh-grade students of Junior High School in Kudus, Indonesia. Data obtained from literature studies and field surveys include questionnaires, interviews, and FGD. The data analysis technique used is data triangulation with stages: reduction, data presentation, and conclusions based on data descriptions. The results showed that (1) students’ mathematical thinking skills are still low, teachers have not used application-based media, teachers have not developed ethnomathematical-based media, students need learning media that can improve mathematical thinking skills and make students interested in learning mathematics; (2) the ethnomathematics component of the mobile module is divided into 3 main parts, namely the introduction, the core, and the end. The introductory section includes the initial login page, instructions for use, and information regarding basic competencies. The core section contains the content of learning activities that contain ASEP (apperception), JAYA (cultural bridge), SITI (material description), EDI (self-evaluation). The last part contains motivational sentences.

Design and build of android-based mathematics learning media with traditional game ethnomatics approach

This study aims to create an application for learning mathematics by using the ethnomathematics of traditional Sundanese games as an integration of mathematics and culture. Reveal in depth how traditional games can be used as material to develop learning with an ethnomathematical approach. The method used in this study is R&D (Research and Development) with a Borg and Gall model approach. The stages of this research are divided into several stages, namely: a) Potential Problems, b) Gathering Information, c) Product Design, d) Design Testing, e) Design Improvement, f) Product Trial, g) Product Revision, h) Trial Use of, i) Mass Production of Products. The potential problem from this research is that online learning is still being carried out until now, so there is a need for innovation in making learning media so that students can better understand learning materials based on their experiences. Collecting supporting data information in the form of data on traditional games in West Java, selecting and identifying which ones contain ethnomathematical elements and what materials are suitable for the game. Conducting observations and interviews as well as ethnographic studies to teachers, students, parents, cultural observers and experts. The product design is in the form of an application screen display, this research stage is only on the design of the application to be made, so the results of the research in the discussion of this article are in the form of application screen design.

This research was conducted to analyze the sentiment of Fintech users in Tegal City, especially the Ovo application since it currently has a very massive market and promotion. Users choosing the Fintech application generally consider convenience, security, transaction suitability, convenience, and cashback. The problem is that the user's trust in Fintech is still in doubt. Currently the application provides reviews to share their experiences. With the number of reviews displayed, it needs analysis that can classify the review into positive or negative classes. This research is using experimental method. Data is taken from Google Play in the OVO Application. The method used is the method of Support Vector Machine (SVM) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Data processing is using the Application RapidMiner Studio 7.6.003. The result is that the Ovo application gets the best value with an accuracy of 82.33%. So that it can be concluded that the results of the review might convince users of other positive customer experiences while negative experiences can be used as a contribution to the thinking of the next product development to be better so they can compete. © 2019 IEEE.

Information technology plays an essential role in the business world because it may affect the operations of the organization within the organization that also uses information technology to provide information. One of the departments that use information technology is the Information Engineering Department of Musamus Merauke University, which is used to provide information related to the Department of Information Engineering. But in the use of information technology is still flawed. Therefore, it is necessary to have a standard in information technology management to measure overall standards and governance in information technology management, ie using COBIT. Based on this study, we will design an information technology management model for the Department of Information Engineering. Control objectives for information and related technologies (COBIT) are 4 (4) primary domains, including domains, planning, and organization (PO), acquisition and implementation (AI), transmission and support (DS) and tracking. And evaluating (ME) in research. This will use two domains, namely the delivery domain and support (DS) and monitoring and evaluation (ME) by adjusting the problems and requirements of the information engineering department in the arrangement. Information technology support for information technology service processes and support for monitoring and evaluation of information technology, the results showed that the level of maturity of information technology supervision in the information engineering department is at level 2. Activity and student learning outcomes are still low on the material crossing-over Therefore, an Android-based learning media is needed as a supplement to the Genetics course. The type of research is research and development using a 4-D model. This article reports the defined stage (student needs questionnaire design). Questionnaire design stages, namely 1) plan the variable to be measured, 2) the questionnaire formulation, and 3) examination and repair. The results of the study obtained a questionnaire with 3 variables and 3 indicators of student needs for Android-based learning media. Variables and indicators number 1 consist of 11 items of questions. Variables and indicators number 2 consist of 1 question item. Variables and indicators number 3 consists of 1 question item. The quality of research data depends on the quality of the instrument and the quality of the data collection techniques.

Spam filters have become an important tool for ISP(Internet service Provider) to address the growing spam in cyberspace. Spam filtering is a program used to detect spam, prevent it and enter users' mailboxes. With the rapid growth of Internet technology, email communication is becoming increasingly important in people's daily lives. In addition, the amount of spam contained in emails has increased considerably in recent years. In this study, the authors will compare the performance of the decision tree classification models using or not using Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) in spam filtering. The results of this test will be compared with the results of level accuracy, recall, precision, and F1 Score using or not using the RFE method. where in the results of this level measurement, the model used can be a reference or solution to filter spam correctly, especially through the use of supervised learning data. © 2019 IEEE.

Development of collective behavior in newborn artificial agents

Collective behavior is widespread across the animal kingdom. To date, however, the developmental and mechanistic foundations of collective behavior have not been formally established. What learning mechanisms drive the development of collective behavior in newborn animals? Here, we used deep reinforcement learning and curiosity-driven learning—two learning mechanisms deeply rooted in psychological and neuroscientific research—to build "newborn" artificial agents that develop collective behavior. Like newborn animals, our agents learn collective behavior from raw sensory inputs in naturalistic environments. Our agents also learn collective behavior without external rewards, using only intrinsic motivation (curiosity) to drive learning. Specifically, when we raise our artificial agents in natural visual environments with groupmates, the agents spontaneously develop ego-motion, object recognition, and a preference for groupmates, rapidly learning all of the core skills required for collective behavior. This work bridges the divide between high-dimensional sensory inputs and collective action, resulting in a "pixels-to-actions" model of collective animal behavior. More generally, we show that two generic learning mechanisms—deep reinforcement learning and curiosity-driven learning—are sufficient to learn collective behavior from unsupervised natural experience. © 2021, CC BY.

Exergy evaluation while drying fish waste in the forced convection rotary dryer

This study focuses on the exergy analysis of the fish waste drying system using a rotary dryer. The effect of the initial mass of fish waste on the exergy parameters was carried out. The exergy balance was applied in the drying chamber. The exergy parameters analyzed include exergy inflow, exergy outflow, exergy loss, and exergy efficiency. In terms of exergy sustainability, the sustainability index, environmental impact factor, waste energy ratio, and improvement potential were also analyzed. As a result, it was found that the exergy inflow for all initial masses was not significantly different. Meanwhile, if the fish waste’s initial mass is decreasing, the exergy outflow and exergy efficiency increase, and exergy loss decrease. The sustainability index decreases, and the environmental impact factor increases with increasing initial mass. Waste energy ratio and improvement potential increase with increasing initial mass.

This study aims to determine the best distance to install a CCTV camera in identifying a person's face in the passenger inspection area at the airport, which can be developed for suspect detection systems. The training data used is in the form of an image with five different angles per person, while the testing data is in the form of video. The initial stage conducted is face detection based on local features (a pair of eyes, nose, and mouth) in the input data using the Viola-Jones method. The face detection results process with pre-processing, feature extraction, and classification. In the pre-processing stage, the Brightness Enhancement (BE), Grayscale and Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) methods are used to improve the quality of the detected face. Furthermore, the feature extraction and classification stages use the Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HOG) and the Multi-class Support Vector Machine (MSVM) methods, respectively. The result shows that the best accuracy obtained is 86.76% for a CCTV camera distance of 300 cm and a height of 250 cm. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
