The growth of technology and the emergence of a challenging era of disruption have changed the paradigm of the construction industry in Indonesia. As an education that covers this, TVET needs to respond and prepare for this condition. Through industry surveys and literature studies, this research aims to describe the direction of development of the construction industry in the era of disruption. It was found that the adoption of technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) is key to construction efficiency. However, challenges arise in integrating the required skills with the TVET curriculum.

The spatial phenomenon of Kin's settlements in the UNNES campus area: study of activities and the meaning of spaces

The development of campuses on the outskirts of the city is forming new satellite cities, including the Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) expanding its new campus in Sekaran Village, Gunungpati sub-district. The existence of this campus has a major impact on regional development, and affects land use. The characteristics of the countryside with local wisdom still seem to color the socio-cultural life of the people of Sekaran, and also affect the space and environment of the settlements where they live. This phenomenon indicates that there is a strong kinship among the sedentary groups. This study aims to: (1) explore the spatial phenomenon of kin's settlements; (2) revealing the activities and meaning of spaces. In order to achieve the objectives, this research uses a phenomenological approach. The results of the study illustrate that the setting of kins settlements is formed by internal aspects, namely: the location of inheritance land, orientation between dwellings, access between dwellings, kin's activities and the influence of the UNNES Campus which encourages the formation of new functions in kin's settlements that have economic value. The existence of space and activities together strengthens the meaning of shared space in kin's settlements.

Post occupancy evaluation for green building certificated (case study UGM law centre building)

Green building has recently become the main approach in the construction of a building, including in Indonesia. A building that has been certified as a green building does not mean that it has all the components that meet the requirements of comfort, health and safety, especially if the main goal for certification is to pursue energy efficiency in buildings. The purpose of this study is to describe the level of user satisfaction of the UGM Law Learning Center building after the building is certified as a green building. This type of research is a post-occupancy evaluation (POE) in the form of survey research with a quantitative descriptive approach. The steps to be taken are: identification of building performance based on the EDGE instrument, identification of building data, interviews, observations, data search through questionnaires, quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study indicate that, in general, the spaces in the building have met the activity needs and user comfort, but there are several aspects that need to be improved, namely: visual comfort, cleanliness, and spatial efficiency.

Building design recommendation for thermal comfort in cities on the island of Java, Indonesia

Thermal comfort is a person's state of mind that expresses a person's level of satisfaction with his environment. Optimal thermal comfort can be achieved by considering several factors, including building orientation, air conditioning, position and size of openings, building materials, and others. The purpose of this study is to find recommendations for designing thermal comfort in cities on the island of Java using Mahoney Tables. Mahoney Tables is a collection of reference tables used in construction as climate-friendly design references. In this study, climate and meteorological data will be taken in certain cities on the island of Java. From the results of the above discussion, it can be concluded that the building must pay attention to 4 aspects, namely openings, the building must have wide openings located on the south-north side of the building and the openings must be as high as the human body; The room must be one room without a partition; Building envelopes, buildings must be protected from direct sunlight and rain by paying attention to the selection of materials; and building utilities must pay attention to drainage. The recommendations above are expected to be used by architects/researchers who will design/research buildings to be comfortable.

Green campus development of UNNES postgraduate program: potential identification and performance analysis

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) with the vision of conservation-minded university with international reputation continues to develop a conservation-based academic life, namely the value of caring for the environment. This vision is supported by one of the internal UNNES Green Campus programs, namely H-BAT (green, clean and healthy). Based on the results of the H-BAT assessment in period of June 202, it showed that the achievement of the UNNES Postgraduate program (it's called PPs UNNES) performance was 62.24%. This performance achievement is a low indicator for PPs UNNES in its efforts to develop a green campus. The formulation of the problem that can be raised is how to improve the performance of PPs UNNES's H-BAT achievement in the field of conservation. The purpose of this study is to identify potential and analyse campus performance in accordance with the H-BAT indicator assessment criteria. The method used in this research is descriptive exploratory. The results show that the achievement of 62.24% of the H-BAT assessment illustrates that the PPs UNNES green campus governance is not optimal, both in administration, programs, policies and implementation in the field. PPs UNNES has great potential to be able to better improve H-BAT achievement, but it seems that there are obstacles that may be the cause of the low H-BAT performance achievements in the past period. It needs a lot of efforts to optimize the existing potential so that it can fulfil the H-BAT assessment indicators more optimally.

Wastewater produced by batik industry in Cibelok Village, Pemalang that is disposed straight into the sewage will increase the concentration of Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), ammonia (NH3), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), watercolour, acidity (pH), and dissolved oxygen (DO). Disposed batik wastewater without treatment will contaminate the environment, mainly its water and soil. The main purpose of this research is to reduce the concentration of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), ammonia (NH3), chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), watercolour, acidity, and dissolved oxygen (DO) by treating batik Cibelok's waste and not contaminate the surrounding environment. Laboratory test results on batik waste in COD, BOD, DO, ammonia, chromium, lead, colour, and acidity (pH). These results are not in accordance with the 2014 Waste Water Quality Standard Number 5 by the Regulation of the Minister of Environment of the Republic of Indonesia. Alternatives that have been done to treat Cibelok Village's batik waste is to lower dangerous substances concentration through electrocoagulation and filtration. The processes could lower COD level around 57.6%, ammonia 98%, chromium 85%, and BOD 67%. Reducing the concentration of the substance makes the batik waste safer and environmentally friendly when it's finally disposed to the sewage. © 2020 IOP Publishing Ltd.

Evaluation of the lighting system in drawing studio at the E12 building, Faculty of engineering UNNES

A room can be said to be a good one if the lighting following the requirements of needs depends on the function of the room. The room studied in this study was a drawing studio room in E12 Building, Faculty of engineering UNNES. This room has a condition where the spread of light entering from the window is uneven so during the day the lights must always be turned on. The purpose of this study is to measure and evaluate the lighting intensity of the drawing studio space. This research was conducted using descriptive and evaluative methods. The data obtained is sourced from the results of direct light intensity measurements on the object of research conducted in the morning, afternoon, and evening for three days using a lux meter and measurements made referring to SNI 16-7062-2004 about measuring the intensity of lighting at work. The results of the measurement of lighting intensity in the image studio room will be compared with the SNI recommended standards. According to SNI 03-6575-2001, the standard requirement for a lux studio drawing space is 750 lux. The result, both when the lamp is turned on and the lamp turns off the measurement results do not meet the standards. It is recommended to increase the intensity of artificial lighting (lights) in the drawing studio until it meets the SNI 750 lux standard. From the results of calculations with the lumen method, it is recommended to replace each lamp with a lamp that has a light current of 9360 lumens.

An affordable vertical house, which is known as rusun in Indonesian term becomes the utopia of a compact city. The rusun to be the main actor contributing to the creation of liveable comfort in dense areas by relocating squatters and slum inhabitants to better living places. Technical guidelines and building standards play a major role in a building's environmental impact. These standards will be reviewed based on their impact on building performance. There are two prototypes of rusun referenced in 05/PRT/M/2007, and the assessment of these prototypes has been done by using ENVi-met. The meteorological data for the ENVI-met configuration input is adapted to the same weather and climate conditions taken from the data measured on June 13th, 2012. The analysis of this assessment will focus on building orientation, building length, building height, and also the microclimate which is impacted by these prototypes. Based on the assessment, it is recommended that the layout of outdoor space on the north side should provide as much green coverage as possible, either for shadowing or for the benefit of its albedo. The simulation shows that building ratio of 1:3 produces higher wind speed, which also controls air temperature and humidity. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Aceh Government is trying to plan the integrated transportation system. Aceh Government has planned the construction of 6 Corridors of Trans Koetaradja Bus, some of them are Corridors II A and II B. The previous public transport cannot accommodate the transportation service needs of the route of Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport - city center - Ulee Lheue Crossing Port. However, currently, the Banda Aceh Trans Koetaradja Public Bus Transportation is projected to be able to improve the services optimally. The purpose of this study is to assess the level of performance and to improve the quality of the service up to the customers' satisfaction expectations. The method of this research comprises the survey, which is sampling Kouto and distributing questionnaires and data analysis. The questionnaire distribution uses statistic test method and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) through the SERVQUAL approach, namely: reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and physical evidence. The result of the study is that the current performance of the services of Trans Koetaradja public bus transportation is rated as good; the importance of the service regarding the customers' expectation is rated good; the quality of service provided to customers is rated 94.52%. The conclusion of this study is that there are several shortages of transportation performance, such as the timeliness of arrival, waiting time at bus stops, passenger assistance, and available seats.
