Building-Integrated Photovoltaic(BIPV)on vertical façades is a potential PV application in today’s *** performance of BIPV on façades is significantly influenced by the façade *** tropical cities,the optimum façade orientation,in terms of maximum energy yield and daylight performance,cannot be simply determined,due to relatively symmetrical sun path throughout the *** study therefore aims to determine the optimum orientation for BIPV on tropical building faç*** achieve the objective,experiment,modelling,and computational simulation are conducted to evaluate the BIPV energy yield and to predict the indoor daylight performance in a scale-model building with a 105Wp monocrystalline silicon PV,facing each cardinal orienta-tion in Bandung,*** South orientation yields practically zero ASE_(1000,250),providing the best annual daylight performance,and yielding the most desirable value in four out of five daylight *** greatest annual energy yield is at the North orientation,providing 179-186 kWh(95%prediction interval)per year,but with larger uncertainty compared to that at the South,due to direct sunlight *** on three different objective functions,the South orientation is considered optimum for placing the BIPV panel on the prototype façade in the location.

Model of Sustainable Urban Infrastructure at Coastal Reclamation of North Jakarta

High economic growth in the city was not balanced with adequate infrastructure provision. Northern Jakarta has been a tangible example of how the development of the city had ignored the environmental conditions, this region has been developed into a very dense and slums areas, and compounded with a huge problem of the exceeding of environment carrying capacity. A massive development of coastal reclamation at north of Jakarta could be used as a model of development based on ecological approach. This study is aiming to examine the concept of sustainable urban infrastructure at coastal reclamation of North Jakarta, which is an approach that integrates urban development components namely city community capital, the city infrastructure needs and ecological city components. To analyze the relationship between these components, this research was carried out by Structural Equation Model (SEM) which is multivariate analysis that analyzes the relationship between complex and simultaneous variables. The application of sustainable urban infrastructure model was done by Goodness of Fit Index (GOFI) value indicators to see how the data support the model on on total of 147 survey respondents. The indicators for each of these six models showed a good fit to ecological city theory, with chi-square of 3.60, df of 4 p-value of 0.45306, and root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) below 0.08. Latent variable Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) test showed very good match, model is saturated/perfect fit. Therefore, it can be stated that the data strongly support a model for the latent variables. This model of sustainable urban infrastructure in coastal reclamation can be applied to overcome the problems of urban sustainable development.

study of Cost and Construction Speed of Cladding Wall for Lightweight Steel Frame (LSF)

The strategic issue faced by the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Republic of Indonesia (PUPR) is the large housing backlog, especially in the urban areas. Low-income communities earning less than 2 USD/day are found as the most vulnerable to lack of access to affordable housing. This experiment aims to find an alternative solution on building construction material in accordance with the Ministry of Public Housing regulation No. 11 of 2011 about affordable housing guidelines. The experiment was carried out on an LSF to compare four different wall cladding materials. The building area was 36 m(2) and the total wall cladding area was 95 m(2). The wall cladding materials used were metal sheet, lightweight concrete brick, gypsum reinforced cement (GRC) board, and unplasticized polyvinyl chloride (uPVC) fiber. The experiment collected data on purchases of materials to develop the S-curve and measure construction progress. Then, the work unit price analysis (WUPA) approach was carried out to simulate the labor coefficient of construction speed and its comparison to the material costs of the four wall cladding materials. The experiment on this 36 m(2) house found that metal sheet is the most efficient material, which took 22.7 h to cover a 95 m(2) wall. Later, it was followed by uPVC fiber with 46.6 h, GRC board with 59.7 h, and finally lightweight con-bricks with 85.7 h. Apparently, the metal sheet not only presented the most efficient construction time, but also provided the lowest construction cost with 115.960 IDR/m(2) (8.24 USD/m(2)). It was followed by uPVC fiber at 133.37 IDR/m(2) (9.48 USD/m(2));GRC board at 146.91 IDR/m(2) (10.44 USD/m(2)) and finally lightweight con-bricks at 156.88 IDR/m(2) (11.15 USD/m(2)). Through WUPA, this study also found that efficient workmanship (construction speed) of the labor greatly affects construction costs.

Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Ganesha Campus, Indonesia, has an area of 28.86 hectares. The campus is located in Bandung. Starting from 2012, new buildings were constructed within the area, reducing the area of permeable surface significantly. In the past few years, there were several excess run off incidents in the campus. The insufficient area of permeable surface as well as the inadequate capacity of the drainage system contributes to the excess surface run off. The drainage system has only two outlets. Moreover, in some areas, the drainage systems are disconnected. Thus, most the surface run off are stored within the drainage system. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of infiltration wells for reducing the local excess run off in ITB. Precipitation data and drained service area are used to estimate the design discharge from each building in ITB. In order to avoid the excess surface run off of certain locations in ITB, then the infiltration wells are proposed to balance the area of impermeable surface. The effectiveness of the infiltration wells are evaluated by assessing their number to their contribution in reducing the excess surface runs off.

Peri-urban areas are playing an increasingly crucial role in the agricultural development and intensification in ***-urban agriculture is highly vulnerable to change compared with urban and rural agriculture,due to its location in transitional *** of peri-urban agricultural intensity can help guide regional *** this study,we assessed the sustainability of peri-urban areas based on agricultural intensity in Karawang Regency,*** developed a village-based index to assess the region’s agricultural intensity by rescaling the village agriculture index(VAI)and combining the local sustainability index(LSI)with factor *** the unit of analysis is the village,we modified the LSI to the village sustainability index(VSI).In addition,we also developed a logical matrix analysis to determine the level of agricultural sustainability(LoAS)of each *** combined results of the three indices(VAI,VSI,and LoAS)generated information about agricultural *** results indicated that peri-urban villages with high agricultural intensity tended to exhibit low levels of social welfare,economic development,and disaster ***,high agricultural intensity did not necessarily ensure the prosperity of the ***,there was the economic disparity among the villages in the study *** diversity of agricultural intensity seems to be more critical than promoting agricultural intensity ***,this study highlights the distinctive characteristics and dynamic of peri-urban *** approaches,variables,and information regarding the combination of agricultural intensity and sustainability need to be developed as valuable tools for regional planning.

Limited piped water services in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) are likely to increase the use of multiple water sources, impactingaccess to safely managed water. The aim of this study was to analyze monthly variations of households'water source preferences in threesubdistricts in Bekasi, adjacent to the capital city of Indonesia, through a monthly telephone survey of 87 households during 12 *** with 1, 2, and 3-4 drinking water sources formed 70, 27, and 3% of the 755 total responses, respectively. Of the 53 householdsthat completed at least 11 of the 12 monthly surveys, around 32% of households resorted to other water sources as an alternative for drink-ing water and other domestic purposes. Households switched from borehole water to bottled water for their primary drinking water in thewet season but still used borehole water as their complementary source. Unimproved source use as primary drinking water also increasedduring the wet season from 6 to 8%. Monitoring and risk assessment of water sources need to consider the use of multiple water sourceswhile balancing out the limited resources to protect the population, especially the vulnerable, from unacceptable health risks.

Morotai is one of the regions which has become a new growth center in North Maluku Province (Malut). Meanwhile, the development carried out at Morotai is still constrained by the limited supply of clean water in three regions. This research was conducted to: 1) Clean water problems based on geographical conditions;2) Map technology needs and propose technologies which can be used to provide clean water in Morotai Island;3) Factors related to people's willingness to pay for the application of water technology. Research was carried out through an action research with a case study method in three regions in Morotai in which has tourist attractions based on different geographical conditions. The sample of this study was 70 households in each location. Data were analyzed descriptively and in comparison. The result of this study shows that the main obstacles to provide clean water are poor quality of raw water due to high salt concentrations in Koloray, pollution load caused by flood in rainy season in Muhajirin, and lack of raw water especially in the dry season in Juanga. Appropriate technology is needed to solve the problem such as rainwater treatment, brackish water treatment, utilization of ACS, and merotek models of rainwater. Factors related to people's willingness to pay for the application of water technology are perception towards clean water problem, head of household income, number of family members, technology needs for clean water improvement.

The Leang-Leang prehistoric park is one of four leading destinations in Bantimurung Bulusarung National Park, however, the evaluation of visitor perspectives and satisfaction index in this site were still limited. This study aimed to analyze the importance-performance analysis based on visitor perspectives and to assess visitor satisfaction index in the Leang-Leang destination. Fifty people selected through convenience sampling method were involved as respondents. Consumer perspective assessment was focused on 33 ecotourism potential subcomponents and the scoring method referred to Likert scale, prior to group into the IPA matrix/Cartesian diagram. The visitor satisfaction assessment was calculated based on the formula of customer satisfaction index. The result showed that there were 7 ecotourism potential subcomponents that need to be prioritized by managerial team, i.e local cultural arts, guide and interpreter, public lavatory, garbage dump, rest area, security facility (tourist police) and shopping facility. Flora attraction, panorama, specific attraction, historical heritage, hospitality of local people, the easiness access to locations, the easiness access to get information about the distance from the nearest city, brochures, maps or other directions, clean water availability, service, care and skill of human resource had been already in the good condition, so keep up the good work. Fauna attraction, local traditions and customs, festival, carvings and crafts, local food, homestay, hotel, camping ground, the easiness access to get transportation, telephone, faximile or internet and health facility were included in low priority subcomponents. Moreover, cultural landscape, local people daily life and transportation costs were categorized as possible overkill subcomponent. The score of visitor satisfaction index was 55.57 and categorized as a moderate satisfaction level.

This paper presents a parametric and Multi-Objective Optimisation approach to investigate daylight performance of the expanded-metal shading depicting the sky conditions in Kitakyushu, Japan. The study is an initial design method utilising a robust computational calculation aiming to verify expanded metal as an environmentally friendly building material concerning its function as a shading device. The proposed platform generatively iterates the logic of expanded metal as dynamic design variables, such as Bond, Strand, Length, Height and Angle, to achieve the optimisation goals of minimising Annual Sunlight Exposure (ASE) while simultaneously maximising Spatial Daylight Autonomy, Useful Daylight Illuminance (UDI) and the openness of the expanded metal profile. Ladybug and Honeybee were utilised in a parametric platform, Grasshopper, to perform daylight simulation, while Octopus was employed to optimise the results. A thorough analysis was conducted to determine the significance of each expanded-metal parameter in achieving the daylight and View objectives. The results showed that adopting the proposed framework successfully fulfilled the LEED v4.1 daylight requirements by reducing ASE by 100% and improving UDI by approximately 50% over the baseline model. Furthermore, the iteration process revealed a wide range of aesthetic patterns, providing another factor for designers to consider during the design decision-making process.

In this paper, we propose the use of the composite kernel function (CKL) technique for the multi-fidelity Kriging (MFK) surrogate model. The principle of MFK-CKL is to automatically learn the best combination of single kernels in both low- and high-fidelity Kriging to create a more accurate Kriging model. The combination is in the form of a weighted sum in which the weights are treated as extra hyperparameters. We implement the CKL into the recursive co-Kriging approach. It is relatively straightforward to do the same for other MFK approaches. Demonstrations on a set of non-algebraic problems show the high efficacy of MFK with CKL, outperforming the single kernel approach in terms of approximation error. Besides, the use of CKL successfully eliminates the non-trivial process of manual kernel selection in multi-fidelity Kriging.
