Application of semi-transparent photovoltaic (PV) windows in buildings has now become an emerging trend towards sustainable design practice. Such application requires a careful thought on finding the optimum window orientation. From the perspective of energy generation, equator-facing orientation is the best option. However, such orientation may lead to glare and visual discomfort. To solve this problem, optimisation is required, but the outcome often depends on the weighting factors of each metric considered. This study therefore aims to quantify the uncertainty of weighting factors in optimising PV window orientation, by considering various annual daylight metrics and energy yield. Computational modelling and simulation using Rhinoceros and Grasshopper were performed for a building prototype with a single, semi-transparent monocrystalline PV window, under the climate of Gowa, Indonesia (5.2 degrees S). Weighting factor for each metric was randomised using Monte Carlo simulation for 1000 scenarios, and the uncertainty were analysed. When all metrics are considered, on average, the South orientation appears as the best orientation in 73% of the cases, followed by East (24%) and North (3%). When a single metric is assigned to each metric group, the South orientation still appears as the best orientation in 62% of the cases.

This study is based on phenomenon of shophouse's facade transformation in cities which is made after shophouses are built for business identity. Viewed from sustainability perspective where 'sustainability' is defined as able to maintain continuation with minimal long-term effect on the environment—the changes on shophouses building façade materials is indicated as energy wasting problems. The study was conducted in Bandung, Indonesia. The first part of this study is intended to draw typology out of the quantity changes of building facade and to trace the driving factors for its typology. The Conclusion of this study shows a high requirement for facade transformation which is categorized as Minor, Medium and Major changes that forced by inadequacy of the original design in representing the accommodated function, activities or products. The next part of the study aims to provide several recommendations and innovative solution to prevent excessive use of building materials as well as energy waste that goes against sustainability principles.

The increase in the transmission of the COVID-19 disease, creating an effort to prevent transmission by controlling total of space users in the Dean's Office Building, University of Bengkulu to avoid overcrowding users of space in buildings. The control has an impact on the increasing number of space users in the transition space of outdoor (terraces, hallways, corridors) in the eight Dean's Office Buildings. The thermal comfort of the outdoor transition space needs to be considered because the post-pandemic adaptation behavior causes the change in the function of the transition area as buffer between outdoor and indoor spaces, is currently becoming a waiting room for entering buildings with uncertain waiting times. In addition, University of Bengkulu is located in coastal area with air temperatures during the day between 30 °C- 34 °C and wind speed ranging from 0-2,2 m/s. The purpose of this research is to determine the perception of thermal comfort of space users in the transition space, Dean's Office Building, University of Bengkulu. Measurement data in the form of air temperature, air humidity, and wind speed at the peak of the dry month were carried out at 08.00-16.00 for 10 working days and interview data on the perception of thermal comfort of space users. Interview and measurement data will be inputted on the Ray-man measuring instrument to obtain the PET, PMV, SET values.

This research aims to find the spectrum of a park service scope from two city parks in Denpasar, a densely populated city. The city parks in study are Lapangan Puputan Badung and Lapangan Puputan Margarana as city public facilities of Denpasar – Bali that is said to improve citizen quality of life and environment as well. However, this research focuses to see how city parks in Bali serve their users. This study uses a survey research method. Sample of respondents are chosen using accidental sampling technique with questionnaire as media of data collection. Data series include, users' age, frequency of visit, activities, and domicile. Research findings are analysed spatially and descriptively as well. Result shows that most visitors are young people who spend time mostly for exercising and other recreational activities. It is also interesting to see that both city park users are regular visitors. They visit the parks at least 1 to 2 time per week and spend 1 to 2 hours in there. The parks users mostly come from densely populated areas. That shows the importance of city parks as complement to a city. However, as a city that going to smart city, ICT has not been recognized much. As conclusion, the spectrum of city parks service scope of Denpasar still ranging in traditional functions of public green open space. A city park serves a man-made nature-like place for people to get refresh within an urban landscape setting.

Mild steel in buildings tends to only be used as a roof frame. The phenomenon in the field that lightweight steel roof truss can be combined with mortar mixture. In general this union is found on the walls of the construction of the red stone horses. This phenomenon is captured and applied dynamically, creatively, and innovatively with new idioms. Mild steel can be used as a beam reinforcement. This research is important in order to find alternative reinforcement of beams other than iron and strong beam reinforcement. This study aims to determine the ratio of flexural strength between concrete from mild steel reinforcement and concrete from steel reinforcement. This study uses a concrete flexural strength test and simple test beam method. The test beam is loaded and centered directly. Press testing machine is used as a flexural test device. The machine is equipped with two support beams and one load beam, load construction, and support blocks. Six beams are used as specimens. Test objects are made of different reinforcement. Concrete beams are made from a cross section of 600 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm, used reinforcing iron diameter of 6 mm, and amounting to three (first test object). Concrete beams are made from a cross section of 600 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm, mild steel is used with the profile shape C73.35.10 mm, and there are three pieces (second test object). This study concluded that the test beam was made from a cross section of 600 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm. and mild steel (profile C73.35.10 mm) has twice the maximum flexural strength compared to 600 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm cross section beam and reinforcing iron (6 mm diameter).

One of the efforts of urban food problems can be resolved by urban farming activities with green roofs application on sloping roofs in crowded settlement. The study aims to know the body movements comfort in the planting activity on the green roof for productive plants with a case study of sloping roofs using simulation. This study is an experimental research by using simulation methods. The experimental variables in this study were height, sex and the range of the planting process. The simulation research uses a growing media module which is placed at an angle of 15 degrees and 30 degrees. The obtained data tested T test method to find the differences level of male and female respondents data. After the T test, a simple regression test was performed to determine the effect of the respondent's height on the range of the planting process. T test results show that male and female data in each module with slopes 15 degrees and 30 degrees have different results. ANOVA test regression analysis results showed a significant influence between height and distance of planting range in male respondents was 47.5 percent in the 15 degrees module and 49.02 percent in the 30 degrees module, while in the female respondents had a 31.64 percent result at modules 15 degrees and 54.44 percent in the 30 degrees module. The results of both data (male and female) showed that the slope of 30 degrees is more comfortable than the slope of 15 degrees.
