Indonesian government has a flagship program that is to promote the nation through the maritime sector and make Indonesia as Global Maritime Fulcrum. To achieve that, sea transportation is very important for the development of Indonesia. But sea transportation is also the highest contributor to the air pollution and global warming. In order to reduce the source of global warming Indonesian Government has a strategic plan to gradually replace the use of fossil energy with renewable energy. One of the renewable energy that can be used effectively in Indonesia is solar energy, because Indonesia located along the equator and has a high intensity of sunlight that means it has excellent solar energy availability. In attempt to contribute to the Government's energy strategic plan, the research is aimed to design a solar-powered electric boat with single pilot. The project is a further development of the solar boat created by the Universitas Indonesia team that participated in the International Solar-boat Challenge competition in the Netherlands. The paper is focused on the design and calculation of its mechanical system. The system is divided into propulsion system, steering system, and bilge pump system. The research is conducted based on literature study, discussion with experts, and surveys to the solar-powered electric boat had been designed previously for the race. Collected data are then used as input for the calculation and simulation of the vessel being designed. It is expected that the study could optimize the mechanical system of the solar-powered electric boat, and can be developed for recreational use in Indonesian waters.

The road of Cisarua - Ngamprah has winding conditions and can result in accidents from a geometric perspective. Some of the reasons are because the radius, visibility, and pavement widening at bends have inappropriate road slopes. This research aims implementation of centrifugal force in the geometric design of road for safety driving Conveniencet at the Cisarua sta. 0+050 - 1+450. This research method uses evaluative and quantitative methods. Data collection is carried out by observing road locations and the agencies responsible for completing geometric traffic data. Data analysis was carried out on centrifugal strength calculation, the highway gradient, arch sharpness calculation, and centrifugal forces implementation on road bends. These actions are lumped through plunging the aftereffect of greater centrifugal force strength. Moreover, this implementation is also able to reduce the chance of accidents due to centrifugal force impacts based on road geometry calculations. Based on the evaluation and implementation of a smaller centrifugal force design, the use of a spiral-circle-spiral bend type with a transition curve can increase safety driving comfort.

SCOR (Supply Chain Operations Reference) model is a tool for diagnosing Supply Chain Management (SCM) that allows users to understand all processes in a business organization. This study aimed to analyze activities related to Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM), especially in the palm oil sector, and to determine the performance of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) at PT. Sutopo Lestari Jaya using the green score model. The results showed that the highest Green Objectives (GO) weight in environmentally friendly garden management was located on protected forest land used as plantation land by 38.82%, while waste minimization was found in Crude palm oil water content of 48%. Meanwhile, in minimizing and handling greenhouse gas emissions, the highest weight is found in the amount of fuel used in Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) shipments of 54.07%. For plantation management and palm oil management mills, the highest weight is in the percentage of water use per ton of FFB in PPKS 60.7%, while in waste management, the highest percentage lies in the standardized wastewater Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) of 38.8%. In maximizing the use of new and renewable energy, the highest weight lies in renewable energy per tonne of FFB and the use of solid waste (empty shells and shells) as a substitute for fossil fuels of 45.5% each. © 2022

Vernacular architecture is a potential phenomenon that capable of generating local theory for settlement arrangement in accordance with the condition of natural environment and local culture which is the development of sustainable architecture. In this research they study the phenomenon of architecture settlement which is focused on spatial layout of Bajo tribe in Kabalutan Island, using phenomenology method. The purpose of this research, to find the concept of spatial layout that underlies the order of Bajo settlements in Kabalutan Island. This research produces a spatial layout based on the concept of ethnic fraternity, integrating with the natural conditions that are adaptations of Bajo people's behaviour. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Indonesia is the world's largest archipelago with more than 17 000 islands, and the best marine tourism destination due to its beautiful beaches and underwater scenery, but Indonesia is also the most vulnerable country to be affected by climate change due to the greenhouse effect. Besides industry, the transportation sector is the highest contributor to the global greenhouse effect. In order to reduce the source of the greenhouse effect, the Indonesian Government has committed to using new and renewable energy as an alternative to fossil-based fuel. In an attempt to contribute to the Government's efforts and to advance the national marine tourism, the research is aimed to design water recreational and sport vessel that powered by a solar generated electric engine, as further development of Universitas Indonesia's solar boat participated in International Solar-boat Challenge competition in the Netherlands. The research is focused on the effective use of solar energy as the main source for powering the vessel's electrical engine, based on the existing optimum shape and dimensions of the boat. Information and data regarding the arrangement of the vessel, solar electric generation processes and vessel powering system obtained from literature study, discussion with experts, and on the spot surveys of various recreational vessels were used as input for the calculation and simulation of the vessel being investigated. The research results are expected could be further developed for other related usages such as fish farming, coastal fishing rig, floating restaurant, etc. © 2019 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.

PurposeOne of the crucial elements of addressing global climate challenges through urban tourism is the continuing existence of urban forests. The reasoning is that the ecological attraction of urban forests can impact visitors' intention to conduct pro-environmental behavior, including low-carbon actions. Thus, more visitors to urban forests will positively affect enhancing the quality of the urban environment. However, the extent to which ecological attraction can influence pro-environmental behavior warrants further investigation due to the complexity of psychosocial factors that impact behavioral intention. The main objective of this research is to examine the effects of the ecological attractiveness of urban forests on the pro-environmental behavior of visitors by exploring motivation, ecological experience, perceived value and knowledge as mediators. Moreover, whether the nature of the urban forest and facilities attract visitors simultaneously is also ***/methodology/approachData were collected from 615 respondents who visited three urban forests in Bandung, the second-most populous city in Indonesia, by five-point Likert questionnaires. As an analytical tool, SEM PLS was applied to establish the effect of the ecological performance of the urban forest on the increase in environmentally conscious behavior among urban forest *** findings demonstrate that the attractiveness of an urban forest affects the growth of environmentally responsible behaviors. Nonetheless, the attractiveness of urban forests is dictated more by their infrastructure than their ecological function. On the contrary, the visitors' knowledge level can improve their motivation, environmental experience and perceived environmental value. These findings show the significance of developing educational programs with an emphasis on the experience of the visitors so that their ecological performance can contribute to improved low-carbon behavior. The adaptive reuse of cultural heritage buildings as tourist attractions is a growing trend. From an architectural point of view, this concept can be optimized with green architectural retrofit strategies, which help minimize construction waste and encourage environmental conservation. The challenge lies in technically implementing green architectural strategies to transform cultural heritage buildings to ensure safe and comfortable use as tourist destinations. This research uses method in-depth observations of several case studies to identify the subject's strengths and weaknesses through SWOT analysis. The findings from this analysis are used to develop strategies for managing cultural heritage buildings through green retrofit architecture. The research results provide detailed insights into the effectiveness of management practices based on previous research, addressing issues such as limited awareness and capacity, challenges in interpreting and managing cultural heritage, data management, costs, and inadequate knowledge. Research recommends applying green retrofit techniques such as energy efficiency, water and waste management, landscaping, building material, and indoor air quality to cultural heritage buildings. This approach aims to optimize and increase energy efficiency by revitalizing buildings through landscape designs that consider environmental conservation and climate change.

In the interplay between scale models and intellectual paradigms, architectural models construct immaterial ideas. This confluence of material and immaterial in architectural modeling is explored through an examination of Gerrit Rietveld's design for the Rietveld Schroder house (1924). His first wood massing model of the project is often considered to have been created before the idea of flowing space and as an instance of Thomas Kuhn's paradigm shift. Instead, through Gaston Bachelard's concept of paradigm nesting, the model is shown to be integral to Rietveld's design process that used three mutually exclusive notions of mass across different conceptual terrains.

The expansion of land development for settlement and other infrastructure has impact for lessen of green open space that serves to absorb rainwater. Accordingly to that, there is a need of effort to increase the absorbtion rate of rainwater into the ground;one of the methods is using biopori holes. The area that uses as a sample to observe the infiltration rate using biopori holes is Kopelma Darussalam, Banda Aceh. The aim of this study is to measure the infiltration rate before and after the application of biopori holes, find out the amount of holes that required, discover the differences of ground water level every 2, 5, and 10 years return period and find out the amount of water that absorbed to ground water. The data which uses to calculate the water level is the annual maximum daily rainfall, land area under forest cover and texture, and infiltration rate. Meanwhile, the data which uses in order to calculate the volume of water infiltrated into the soil in each month is monthly rainfall data, land area which classified by the cover and texture and infiltration rate. Inundation height at annual maximum rainfalll plan for 2, 5, and 10 years return period with using 100, 160 and 400 holes for each 100 m2 is lower from 9.01% to 77.43% compared to not using biopori holes. In addition, the amount of water that infiltrated after using biopori holes is increasing up to 4120 m3 for each month.

The study is aimed to assess the navigation safety in the port surrounding the area as part of the Indonesian Government°s efforts to increase the port performance and minimize the cost of maritime logistics. The port navigation system and infrastructure such as vessels traffic management system, navigation lanes, port basin, quay, etc. play an important role in determining the productivity and efficiency of the port, especially in the busy port such as Tanjung Priok, Indonesia. Any accident would interrupt port activities and creates unnecessary costs. Formal Safety Assessment method, as introduced by the International Maritime Organization was implemented in the study. The assessment was carried out using qualitative and quantitative risks analyses, based on the available data and information gathered from various sources. It was identified that accidents occurred in the port waterfront were mainly due to the ships, environment, human factors, and management. Results of the assessment were then used as the basis for proposing an improvement strategy. © 2019 The Authors, published by EDP Sciences.
