Offsets Reconstruction Method for Clock Skew Measurement Over High-Jitter Communication

Measuring clock skew of devices over a network fully relies on the offsets, the differences between sending and receiving times. Offsets that shape a thick line are the most ideal one as their slope is directly the clock skew sought. When some outliers separate from the thick line due to higher delay jitter, current advanced approaches use the lower bound or the majority of offsets to derive accurate clock skew. However, outliers in offsets that shape parallel dotted lines, reduce the availability of offsets in the lower region, and scatter widely the offsets from their majority zone. These conditions drive the current skew estimation approaches to lose their accuracy. This paper then developed a new method, which reconstructs back the outliers into their origin positions, in order to provide ideal offsets for clock skew measurement. The experimental evaluations have demonstrated that the clock skew accuracy of dotted-lines offsets tampered by outliers was improved from 2.1 to 0.9 ppm by the proposed reconstruction method. For a broader purpose, the reconstruction method has been adjusted to be implemented also on non-dotted-lines offsets. The robustness of the proposed method for this case has also been exhibited by the very ideal reconstructed offsets that shape like a thick line. © The Author(s) 2025.

Geotourism is rapidly experiencing rapid growth in developing countries, such as Indonesia, and it is a component of sustainable tourism. In addition, the country has many areas of geodiversity in cities or towns that potentially can become urban geotourism destinations, such as the Bandung Basin area. This region is characterized by geological features, including young volcanic rocks surrounding the mountains, alluvial fans, and lake deposits at lower elevations extending from Rancaekek to the base of Mount Lagadar in the western part of the area. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the respective roles of stakeholders in urban geotourism development. The study used literature review and interview methodology, where data was interpreted with stakeholder analysis, and complemented by descriptive analysis. The results showed that stakeholders were divided into primary (quadrant 1), key (quadrant 2), and secondary (quadrant 3) categories, each with distinct interests and degree of influence. As urban tourism expands, it presents ongoing opportunities to cultivate sustainable practices within these locales. The establishment of urban geotourism necessitates the identification and evaluation of engaged stakeholders. The subsequent planning and management initiatives for the Bandung Basin area can be enhanced through the active participation of stakeholders. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Stroke is one of the cerebrovascular health disorders caused by a blockage of blood flow to the brain. Data from South East Asian Medical Information Center (SEAMIC) explain that the most significant stroke mortality occurred in Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia, and Thailand. There are several methods for diagnosing stroke, one of which is an electroencephalograph (EEG). EEG is one of the more widely used BCI methods due to its lower price, portability, ease of use, and high temporal resolution than other methods. Most EEG require signals from various places on the scalp to achieve good performance. However, using a large number of channels can degrade signal performance in the EEG. Spatial selection can be used for channel selection in the EEG stroke signal which can then be useful for evaluation of stroke therapy. Therefore, this study will select the optimized channel using the spatial selection method to see which channels are relevant to the EEG stroke signal. Also, using the Power Spectral Density extraction feature and Extreme Learning Machine classification. The L2-norm energy calculation method gets better results than other methods. This method can also select the active channel relevant to the stroke EEG signal. The results show that the spatial selection method can increase accuracy by 15 percent and optimize the system with 37.5 percent channel reductions. © 2022 IEEE.

The development of telematics technology is increasing rapidly and this capability is supported by multimedia devices or even telematics that supports the development of multimedia itself. For instance, in the configuration of telematics with websites to control air traffic with a voice communication system, multimedia applications serve as devices for monitoring the use of this technology. Consider the research trends, this study aims to evaluate the current development and trends of research on telematics and its multimedia applications through bibliometric analysis over the last two decades and a half (1999-2023). Several publication characteristics were analyzed, including the most cited articles in this field. This study uses data from the Scopus database to evaluate the productivity, impact, countries, research institutions, authors, and research performance of journals based on the impact factor, citation counts, and h-index. According to the result, the annual number of publications on this topic fluctuates but tends to increase, with Germany being the most prolific country producing articles in this field. Additionally, the most researched telematics and its multimedia applications and most cited lists offer insight into the future. This is the first study to use bibliometric analysis to evaluate research on telematics and its multimedia applications and is expected to be useful for telematics researchers by identifying potential research directions. In addition, this research serves as a valuable resource for future researchers and practitioners. However, improvements can be made by incorporating additional analysis, such as content analysis. © 2023 IEEE.

Sawdust is one of the industrial wastes which naturally contains low energy density. An effective method is needed to utilize this biomass as a solid fuel product. This work aimed to investigate the physical and combustion properties of bio-pellets produced from sawdust under the wet torrefaction method. To prepare sawdust bio-pellet a number of steps were carried out including the wet torrefaction process, dough preparation, pelletizing, and drying. Wet torrefaction was performed by hydrothermally treating the sample in an autoclave at a temperature of 130°C and pressure of 2 atm (g) for 80 minutes. For the hydrothermal process, the used acetic acid solution was varied with variations of 1.3 M, 1.8 M, and 2.3 M. Properties of the product were analyzed under proximate and bomb calorimetry analyses. To evaluate the combustion properties a purposely built test apparatus was developed equipped with a data logger system. Based on the results it can be observed that increases in torrefaction temperature and acetic acid concentration resulted in an increase in the calorific value as well as decreases in the ash content. The highest calorific value was 4745 kcal/kg obtained from sawdust torrefied in acetic acid with a concentration of 2.3 M at a temperature of 130?. This sample also exhibits the lowest ash content which is only 1.97%. The combustion test disclosed a maximum combustion temperature of 589? with a burning rate of 0.711 g/min. Overall, the wet torrefaction applied in this investigation was beneficially enhanced the properties of bio-pellet products. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

This paper presents the smart parking system using NodeMCU ESP8266 for web-based car reservation in public areas. Conventional parking system made car users take a long time to find the parking in public areas like shopping centers or malls. Therefore, its necessary to overcome this problem by implementing the smart parking system of car reservation. The system prototype integrates the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, NodeMCU ESP8266 (microcontroller), Ultrasonic Sensor HC-SR04 (vehicle detector sensor in parking area), IR obstacle sensor (entry and exit), SG90 Servo (at the entry and exit gate) and Firebase to create a real-time database connected to a web platform. The system provides real-time slot availability information via the web platform and LCD as information at the entrance gate. Users can easily make and cancel reservations with additional features such as OTP verification, and automatic booking cancellation have been successfully implemented. The prototype test method consist of calibration test, sending OTP test, automatic booking cancellation test and manual booking cancellation test. The result of calibration test on 10 cm range have a 80% success rate for ultrasonic sensor 1 as well as the result of ultrasonic sensor 2. While, additional features test result such as sending OTP, automatic booking cancellation, and manual booking cancellation having 100% success rate. It can be concluded that this prototype is successfully implemented and reach the goals with minimum error can be tolerated. The authors suggest to adding a keypad and payment system to this prototype for improvement in the future.

Technology advancements in energy harvesting have been sparked by increasing demand for renewable energy sources that are sustainable. This research work outlines the development and experiment of a prototype of piezoelectric voltage generation for energy harvesting from human footsteps. The study addresses the feasibility of generating electricity by converting mechanical energy from the vibrations generated by foot traffic in public areas such as stairs and entrance doors. The objectives of this study are to implement a sustainable and efficient method of generating electricity using piezoelectric materials, explore, and also optimize the mechanical design of the prototype to maximize the conversion of mechanical energy into electrical energy. The proposed system was developed on 2 different devices which are Tile A (25 parallel and 5 series sensor connections) and Tile B (20 parallel and 5 series sensor connections) and tested under different circumstances such as different tile placements, weights, and conditions which are 100, 200, and 300 steps to address the consistency on each predetermined parameter. Furthermore, the final system has the highest voltage generated up to 0.98 V from tile A and 2.54 V from tile B. This is due to the different approach of human footsteps when stepping on stairs and entrance door.

This paper describes the design and implementation of the Ludo game on Microsoft Hololens to create a mixed reality-based application with Hololens technology connected to many services. The Ludo game is made for two players, with player one playing on Hololens and player two sending and receiving player one's data via the console. The Ludo game with Hololens is one of the results of the development of Hololens technology and the RabbitMQ Messaging Server. The Ludo game is made on Visual Studio software using UrhoSharp Framework and RabbitMQ Messaging Server service with the AMQP protocol. As application frameworks, Hololens and UrhoSharp function as devices for visualization and running games. At the same time, the RabbitMQ Messaging Server and AMQP protocol serve as services that connect two players from the Hololens and console by sending the data needed by the application. The test results show that Hololens is running successfully and communicating with other console players. Thus, the results obtained are the purpose of this paper, which is to create a mixed reality-based application with Hololens technology connected to many services. © 2023 IEEE.

The aims of this research are: (1) producing a mobile applications android based for sensor and transducer field of study on vocational education;(2) know the quality of the product mobile applications android based for sensor and transducer field study on vocational education. The method used is the Software Development Life Cycle with the Waterfall model. The stages in Waterfall model are: (1) requirements definition;(2) system and software design;(3) implementation and unit testing;(4) integration and system testing;(5) operation and maintenance. The black box test results show the performance of Sensor application software can all function properly. Learning media is one of the learning tools that is needed so that the learning process can run smoothly and students can have competencies in accordance with the expected competency goals. This paper discusses: (1) developing a Human Machine Interface (HMI) training kit as a learning medium in the Industrial Automation engineering Practical Course;(2) the performance of the HMI training kit;(3) the feasibility of the HMI training kit based on the assessment of media experts, material experts and student responses as training kit users. In developing this training kit using the ADDIE model which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. Data collection was carried out by testing the performance of the media, and giving a questionnaire to media experts to assess the feasibility of the media aspect, a material expert questionnaire to assess the appropriateness of the material and a questionnaire to determine student responses as users. The data were analyzed by means of quantitative descriptive analysis which were then categorized. The result of this development is HMI practice learning media for industrial automation engineering practice courses which consist of HMI practice hardware, and jobsheets. The performance of the HMI training kit for input and output parameters, visualization of engine control in the form of buttons, sliders, output visualization, indicator lights, and overall graphics have a 100% correct performance. Based on media experts, design aspects, technical aspects and usefulness aspects were rated very well, so that overall the media aspect received an assessment in the very proper category Based on material experts, technical aspects and aspects of usefullness received an assessment in the very good category, so that overall the material aspect received an assessment in the very proper category.
