Suspension is a very important part of the functionality of a car. It supports the comfort of the passengers and can be used to improve the car's stability. If a magnetorheological (MR) damper is used, the damping performance can be adjusted according to the road condition. In this research, an attempt to model an MR damper using multiple artificial neural networks (ANNs) was conducted. The measurement data was obtained by using a damper dynamometer. Eight measurements were conducted to cover the coil current range between 0 and 1,400 mA. The MR damper model was then integrated into the semi-active suspension of a quarter-car model. Furthermore, the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) design for the semi-active suspension system was conducted. This artificial intelligence control deployed a novel approach in using the frequency content of the road surface as the input. The control scheme was tested by giving a sinusoidal bumpy road and a pseudo-random bumpy road as the input to the quarter-car model. The FLC performed well and was able to reduce the transmitted excitation from the road to the car chassis. © 2024, Politechnica University of Bucharest. All rights reserved.

This research delves into the comparative assessment of diverse deep learning architectures for the automated identification of pulmonary diseases in chest X-ray images, aligning with the diagnostic framework of the International Classification of Deseases, 10th Revision (ICD-10). The evaluated architectures encompass Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), MobileNetV2, DenseNet, VGG16, and InceptionV3. Through an extensive investigation conducted on a comprehensive dataset comprising 108,948 chest X-ray images, we scrutinize the performance metrics and diagnostic accuracy of each architecture. Notably, our findings reveal MobileNetV2 as the frontrunner, exhibiting an outstanding accuracy rate of 97% for Emphysema disease. This remarkable accuracy underscores the robustness and efficiency of MobileNetV2, even amidst large-scale diasets, positioning it as a promising solution for the automated detection of pulmonary ailments from medical imaging. Additionally, we analyze the computational efficiency and resource requirements of each architecture, providing insights into their practical applicability in real-world clinical settings. The implications of our study extend beyond technical benchmarks, offering valuable insights for healthcare practitioners, researchers, and developers working towards enhancing diagnostic processes in pulmonary healthcare. By elucidating the comparative strengths and limitations of various deep learning architectures, this research contributes to the advancement of computer-aided diagnosis systems, paving the way for more accurate and efficient detection of lung diseases from chest X-ray imaging data. © 2025 The Authors.

Renewable energy is a key focus of government policy aimed at reducing dependence on fossil fuels. In alignment with the Renewable Energy mix target and government initiatives promoting solar power, PLN Indonesia Power Bali PGU has installed a floating solar power plant on the surface of the Muara Nusa Dua reservoir. The 100 kWp floating solar power plant at Muara Nusa Dua serves as a showcase project for the G20 activities in Bali. This study presents a feasibility analysis of the 100 kWp Floating Solar Power Plant in the Muara Nusa Dua reservoir, conducted by PLN Indonesia Power Bali PGU from both technical and economic perspectives. Data collection involved real-time monitoring of energy production from October 2022 onwards and detailed tracking of monthly investment costs for the PLTS. Simulation results indicate that the PLTS can generate 145,930.08 kWh annually, yielding an economic benefit of approximately Rp. 236,406,730.00 per year. The analysis concludes that the 100 kWp Muara Nusa Dua Floating PLTS is viable and beneficial both technically and economically. © 2024 IEEE.

This article presents the development and implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT) based Smart Controlled Poultry Farm Management System to enhance the efficiency and welfare of day-old chicks. The system prototype employs a DS18B20 temperature sensor and a microcontroller to automatically monitor and regulate the temperature, feeding, and drinking processes within the cage. Additionally, a web platform is provided for real-time condition monitoring informing the owner of any problems that may occurred. Temperature within the cage is maintained in the range of 30°C to 35°C with a measurement error rate of ±1°C. This temperature range is controlled by switching the fan on and off, as well as opening and closing the curtain. Experimental results indicate that the system has the potential to improve the efficiency of maintaining optimal chick weight and temperature, as well as ensuring consistent feeding times, all of which are crucial for sustainable poultry production. These parameters were monitored over a period of 21 days. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents the smart parking system using NodeMCU ESP8266 for web-based car reservation in public areas. Conventional parking system made car users take a long time to find the parking in public areas like shopping centers or malls. Therefore, its necessary to overcome this problem by implementing the smart parking system of car reservation. The system prototype integrates the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, NodeMCU ESP8266 (microcontroller), Ultrasonic Sensor HC-SR04 (vehicle detector sensor in parking area), IR obstacle sensor (entry and exit), SG90 Servo (at the entry and exit gate) and Firebase to create a real-time database connected to a web platform. The system provides real-time slot availability information via the web platform and LCD as information at the entrance gate. Users can easily make and cancel reservations with additional features such as OTP verification, and automatic booking cancellation have been successfully implemented. The prototype test method consist of calibration test, sending OTP test, automatic booking cancellation test and manual booking cancellation test. The result of calibration test on 10 cm range have a 80% success rate for ultrasonic sensor 1 as well as the result of ultrasonic sensor 2. While, additional features test result such as sending OTP, automatic booking cancellation, and manual booking cancellation having 100% success rate. It can be concluded that this prototype is successfully implemented and reach the goals with minimum error can be tolerated. The authors suggest to adding a keypad and payment system to this prototype for improvement in the future. © 2024 IEEE.

This work deals with optimization problems in the field of audio signals with particular emphasis on recognizing guitar chords. As an extension to the previous works done in this field, the primary goal was to minimize the feature extraction length without loss of recognition performance. In this case, this work used two such well known methods in audio signal processing as the Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) and the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). This method is based on the iterative analysis of three main system attributes: the frame blocking length;the choice of wavelet functions;and the DWT coefficient selection offset. After careful tuning of these parameters, this work was able to optimize the feature extraction length to only three, which however represents a modest improvement on the previous works in this field. The system developed in this research obtained recognition accuracy of up to 91.43% when the optimized feature extraction length was employed. The significance of this study extends to the non-conventional applications of guitar chord recognition. Shortening the feature extraction length is expected to improve more usages in the different applications of the music technology. © 2024 IEEE.

Solar energy is a renewable energy that is currently being widely used. In general, independent solar power plant systems that are installed in residential homes use an off-grid system to simplify the installation process. However, the off-grid system has a weakness that the load on the independent solar power plant system would be limited and it is difficult to transfer the source of electrical energy when the storage battery capacity on the solar panel has run out. Transferring the source of electrical energy can be conducted but the load will be in a momentary blackout during the load transfer process. This would have a negative impact on sensitive loads such as compressors and refrigerators. To avoid the problem, a system for transferring electrical energy sources is required using the phase synchronization method at the source that will change by using the ESP32 as a control center which has supporting functions such as reading parameters, calculating the amount of electrical power used, recording data (data logging), and storing data on electronic media such as MicroSD Card. The result of this study was a Smart ATS system design that could transfer loads with a power rating of 450W using a source synchronization method that was able to display parameter data and record data regularly every 10 minutes. After testing the system, a saving value in the use of electrical energy was obtained by 0.1 kWh of the total use of 0.5kWh in which that the system created could save 20% of the use of electrical energy © 2023 IEEE.

Knowing what customer's interest when they visit a store may help them increasing its efficiency and turnover. Using current technology advancements, this project intends to create a system that recognizes the presence of consumers visiting a store by constructing designated bounding boxes to compute how long the client stays in each retail area. Our system was developed utilizing the COCO dataset using SSD MobileNet V2 system based on Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi is linked to a camera, which records customer activity in each indicated location and calculates the customer's time spent. A low-cost specification allows the system to be easily implemented in the real environment. From the simulations with two bounding boxes, in region 1 there are 7 people with an average time spent of 12 seconds and in region 2 there are 13 people with an average time spent reaching 20 seconds with an accuracy of 87.5 percent and 70 percent, respectively. © 2023 IEEE.

Diesel engines is an internal combustion engine with high thermal efficiency,which also uses biodiesel fuel,an environmentally friendly,non-toxic,and low sulfur *** has been around for a long time due to its similar characteristics to diesel fuels which has limited ***,several disadvantages are associated with biodiesel,such as poor volatility and high viscosity,which reduces engine ***,this study was carried out to improve the diesel engine performance by mixing biodiesel with ecodiesel(ED),an additive produced from natural ingredients that is dissolvable in *** biodiesel fuel properties used are density 860 kg/m3,dynamic viscosity 4.50E-06 m2/s,cetane number 45,and flashpoint 52°*** results showed that biodiesel-ED mixture could improve engine performance and the optimum performance was at a speed of 3000 rpm on 43.30(kW),124.93(N.m)of the engine torque,and 2.45E–5(kg/kW.s)of the specific fuel *** to paired sample t-test,the difference in the engine performance is only experienced in the torque,which has a significant increase in the composition of the biodiesel+ED by 0.07 gr mixture.

The demand for a high-efficiency lamp results in the development of different kinds of lighting sources, such as LED panels, and fluorescent lights. Those inventions provide high illumination with less heat, in comparison than incandescent lamps. However, the specifications (by manufacturers) are not always shown on the product packaging, or might be slightly different, a little bit higher or lower compared to the characteristics of the lighting sources. In this paper, the research group utilizes an integrating sphere system, one of the most well known experiment-based methods, by using an all-in-one integrating sphere system from the Lisun Group to characterize different kinds of lamps. From the experimental result, various parameters, such as power consumption, luminous efficacy, luminous flux, correlated color temperature, and color rendering index will be compared with the information on the packaging.
