Learning media is one of the learning tools that is needed so that the learning process can run smoothly and students can have competencies in accordance with the expected competency goals. This paper discusses: (1) developing a Human Machine Interface (HMI) training kit as a learning medium in the Industrial Automation engineering Practical Course;(2) the performance of the HMI training kit;(3) the feasibility of the HMI training kit based on the assessment of media experts, material experts and student responses as training kit users. In developing this training kit using the ADDIE model which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation. Data collection was carried out by testing the performance of the media, and giving a questionnaire to media experts to assess the feasibility of the media aspect, a material expert questionnaire to assess the appropriateness of the material and a questionnaire to determine student responses as users. The data were analyzed by means of quantitative descriptive analysis which were then categorized. The result of this development is HMI practice learning media for industrial automation engineering practice courses which consist of HMI practice hardware, and jobsheets. The performance of the HMI training kit for input and output parameters, visualization of engine control in the form of buttons, sliders, output visualization, indicator lights, and overall graphics have a 100% correct performance. Based on media experts, design aspects, technical aspects and usefulness aspects were rated very well, so that overall the media aspect received an assessment in the very proper category Based on material experts, technical aspects and aspects of usefullness received an assessment in the very good category, so that overall the material aspect received an assessment in the very proper category. Bioethanol has many functions both as a chemical, food and as a source of energy. The development of bioethanol production is currently leading to the residue of the main product. So that in this study the biomass of arena or Arenga Pinatta was used with a large availability of waste. Therefore, a performance and economic analysis was carried out in the production of bioethanol from palm biomass with ionic liquid (IL) using SuperPro Designer (SPD) Software. As a preparatory stage, the process of testing the characteristics of the biomass is carried out to obtain the most optimal composition of palm sugar in bioethanol production. After simulating the conditions according to the experimental process on the most optimal palm biomass composition, it was found that the most optimal Ionic Liquid (IL) and biomass ratio was at 0.5 g/g with the ethanol concentration obtained at 90.6 g/L at 13 hours which corresponds to theoretical yield of 96% conversion of biomass to ethanol. Meanwhile, the production of ethanol in a factory for energy can minimize the price of ethanol by 30% from the initial price. Thus, with the abundant availability of biomass, bioethanol production with aren biomass has the potential to be developed in Indonesia. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been widely utilized in various fields, including traffic monitoring. UAVs have the potential to provide wide area coverage for traffic monitoring. In this article, we will discuss real-time traffic monitoring using UAVs with live-streaming video. The UAVs are equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) features for object detection on the road. Direct experiments were conducted by implementing UAVs monitoring on Jalan Setiabudi Bandung, West Java. The results show that the UAVs's accuracy for object detection has an average value of 76.78%. The AI processing on the UAVs produces 1.43125 and 1.466 Frames per second (FPS) for real-time object detection video frames. The UAVs monitoring website works well, and the website features can be accessed smoothly. Overall, the results demonstrate the potential of using UAVs with AI technology for traffic monitoring and surveillance. © 2023 IEEE.

The pandemic has brought many negative impacts on human life. One of the negative impacts is economic downturn of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) actors in Bangka Belitung Province. To solve this problem, a website-based marketplace platform called Yobagi was created. As we know, a new software product must have a good user experience. By having a good user experience means that the product has met the needs of its users. For this reason, an evaluation of the user experience is necessary. This study aims to measure the user experience of using Yobagi. The evaluation uses the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) tool, which consists of six scales: Attractiveness, Efficiency, Perspicuity, Dependability, Stimulation, and Novelty. There were 40 respondents who were taken from the top of MSME actors. As the UX evaluation results, it is known that the final score of the six scales is above 0.8 and at the excellent level. This means that Yobagi users have a very good user experience in using Yobagi. In addition, Yobagi has met the criteria for good software by having an excellent user experience value. © 2022 IEEE.

Knowing what customer’s interest when they visit a store may help them increasing its efficiency and turnover. Using current technology advancements, this project intends to create a system that recognizes the presence of consumers visiting a store by constructing designated bounding boxes to compute how long the client stays in each retail area. Our system was developed utilizing the COCO dataset using SSD MobileNet V2 system based on Raspberry Pi. The Raspberry Pi is linked to a camera, which records customer activity in each indicated location and calculates the customer's time spent. A low-cost specification allows the system to be easily implemented in the real environment. From the simulations with two bounding boxes, in region 1 there are 7 people with an average time spent of 12 seconds and in region 2 there are 13 people with an average time spent reaching 20 seconds with an accuracy of 87.5 percent and 70 percent, respectively.

The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is widely utilized for accurate *** commonly applied method to obtain precise coordinate estimates is by implementing the relative positioning in network ***,this approach can be complex and ***,The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) offers freely available satellite orbit and clock correction products called Multi-GNSS Advanced Demonstration Tool for Orbit and Clock Analysis (MADOCA),which can enhance positioning accuracy through the precise point positioning (PPP) *** study focuses on evaluating PPP static mode positioning using MADOCA products and comparing the results with the highly precise relative positioning *** analyzing a network of 20 GNSS stations in Indonesia,we found that the PPP method using MADOCA products provided favorable positioning *** median discrepancies and the corresponding median absolute deviation (MAD) for easting,northing,and up components were estimated as 9±18 mm,10±9 mm,and 3±40 mm,*** results indicate that PPP with MADOCA products can be a reliable alternative for establishing Indonesia's horizontal control networks,particularly for orders 0,1,2,and 3,and for a broad spectrum of geoscience monitoring ***,considerations such as epoch transformations and seismic activities should be taken into account for accurate positioning applications that comply with the definition of the national reference framework.

One of the potential implementations of mobile robots in mitigating the risk of communicable diseases is for delivering items and handling materials with no-human contact. In that scenario, mobile robots require the capability of performing simultaneous multi-object detection and distance estimation for dynamic exploration in a real-world environment. Some existing research papers have contributed to the development of object detection or distance estimation, separately. However, there is still a lack of studies on simultaneous multi-object detection and distance estimation for robot navigation, especially in terms of performance analysis of the integrated techniques. One of the most challenging issues of integrating multi-object detection and distance estimation is the validation and evaluation of the type of objects with their relevant estimated distance to the robot. For that reason, this research aims to analyze the mobile robot's sensing performance in integrated simultaneous multi-object detection and distance estimation during navigation scenarios. A depth camera of Intel RealSense D455 and a rotating LIDAR of Slamtec RPLidar A1M8 are utilized in the experiments. The result of experiments shows that the object detection algorithm using Mobilenet SSD V2 can perform an accuracy of 74%, with precision, recall, and F1-Score consecutively achieving 74,54%, 74,00%, and 74,22%. The multi-object distance estimator also performs satisfactory results with a low measurement average error of 10.3 cm for indoor experiments. The integrated multiobject detector and distance estimator system can work in a real-time mode of 30 FPS, thence significantly improving the navigation performance of the mobile robot.

Polymer-based dampening layer application to improve the operating shock tolerance of hard disk drive

This paper discusses a passive vibration control method to improve the shock tolerance of hard disk drives (HDDs) in operating condition (op-shock tolerance). Past works in improving the HDDs’ op-shock tolerance includes (i) parking the head when shock is detected, (ii) installing a lift-off limiter, (iii) structural modification of the suspension, and (iv) installing an external vibration isolation. Methods (i) and (iv) have practical issues, method (ii) works only on single shock direction, and method (iii) requires major engineering design/manufacturing work. Compared to these works, this paper proposes a method which has no practical issues and without requiring major engineering design/manufacturing work. The proposed method is to apply a polymer-based dampening layer on the backside of the baseplate with the purpose of increasing the damping ratio of the 1st bending mode of the baseplate. The location of the dampening layer on the baseplate is first determined by modal analysis and then fine-tuned by non-op-shock tests. The op-shock tolerance improvement is confirmed by op-shock tests where 2.5″ HDD with the dampening layer on the baseplate can withstand a 300G 0.5-ms shock without failure while unmodified HDD can only withstand 250G 0.5-ms shock without failure. © 2022, The Author(s).

Coplanar waveguide (CPW) antennas are widely used in wireless communication systems because they can be easily integrated with microwave circuits. This article describes a method for improving the performance of CPW antennas by incorporating a slot into the patch design. The antenna was fabricated on an FR4 substrate with dimensions of 43 mm x 40 mm and a thickness of 1.6 mm. The patch section of the antenna was modified by incorporating a slot. The size and shape of the slot were adjusted to achieve optimal performance. The most effective modified design was then fabricated and its properties were measured. The fabricated antenna exhibited an operational frequency range of 2.24 GHz to 7.30 GHz. It also had an omnidirectional radiation pattern and a maximum gain of 5.825 dB. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper presents an innovative approach to integrating ML-Agents into a microgame-based kart racing environment, showcasing the potential for enhancing gameplay experiences through AI-driven opponents. Kart Unity Game is a racing game that uses small motorized vehicles but still uses the concept of racing in the real world. One of the racing game development platforms is Unity. Unity has developed a platform, Unity Karting Microgame, which users can modify. Unity Karting Microgame applies self-driving to ML-Agents trained and designed to drive their karts with suitable sensors and actuators. The method used to develop the game is to modify the racetrack and modify ML-Agents to make the game more exciting and fun. As a result of this study, successful implementation of ML-Agents in a microgame-based kart racing environment. The study highlights the potential of using Unity ML-Agents to create AI-driven opponents that enrich gameplay experiences. Games can run well and seem varied. ML-Agents can also control their karts on their lanes. Thus, kart racing games can be implemented. © 2023 IEEE.
