Synthetic zeolite is considered a more effective adsorbent due to its high purity and high removal efficiency. On the other hand, acid mine drainage contains various metal ions, such as zinc, copper, iron, and manganese which are toxic for the ecosystem in a certain concentration. One of the solutions to remove these metal ions is through adsorption. Therefore, the study of adsorption and desorption of zinc and copper onto synthetic zeolite was conducted. The synthetic zeolite was synthesized from coal fly ash and the acid mine drainage was prepared artificially. The adsorption experiment was carried out using a batch system. NaCl, H2SO4, and HNO3 were used as desorption agent. The adsorption studies revealed that the removal efficiency of both Zn2+ and Cu2+ onto the studied adsorbent decrease with the increase of adsorbate concentration. While the adsorption selectivity for multi-system synthetic AMD solution by the studied adsorbent were found to the order of Fe2+> Cu2+> Zn2+> Mn2+.After being reused three times, the synthetic zeolite shows a decrease in for Zn2+ and Cu2+ adsorption efficiency of about 10%. Furthermore, the desorption study shows the ineffective use of NaCl, H2SO4, and HNO3 as desorption agents in this study. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Sugarcane bagasse is a biomass with very potential, especially in agricultural countries. In this research, a study related to pretreatment and the ratio of C/N to biogas production from sugarcane bagasse was conducted. The study was carried out on a laboratory scale with physical pretreatment by grinding with a size of 6 mesh, then biological pretreatment with the microbial consortium 5 % g/V, and variations in the C/N ratio at 25 and 30. Cow rumen fluid was used in this study as a source of anaerobic bacteria and technical urea is used to adjust the C/N ratio. The solid total is set at 7 %. Based on research that has been carried out for 60 days, it was found that physical pretreatment by grinding with a size of 6 mesh can increase biogas production. Biogas production increased both at C/N ratio conditions of 25 and 30. Furthermore, biological pretreatment with the microbial consortium 5 % g/V was proven to increase biogas production at both C/N ratios of 25 and 30. Further studies on the C/N ratio, it was found that the C/N ratio of 25 was better than the C/N ratio of 30. This is evident in several variables, including raw and fine substrate conditions, as well as on variables with or without a microbial consortium, with the amount of biogas productivity at a C/N 25 ratio of 53-90.5 % higher than the C/N 30 ratio. © 2023 The Authors. Acid mine drainage (AMD) treatment leaves residue in the form of sludge that contains large amounts of metal, silica, ferric, and alum. This research aims to determine the capabilities that AMD sludge-synthesized coagulant has in reducing COD and TSS concentration in domestic wastewater. The domestic wastewater sample used in this research is an artificial domestic wastewater with a COD concentration of 285 mg/l and a TSS concentration of 245.31 mg/l. After going through Acidification process, AMD sludge coagulant contains Si (43.66%), Fe (30.02%), dan Al (12.35%). A jar test is then performed in order to determine the optimal coagulant dosage. In this process, a coagulant dosage of 40 mg/;60 mg/l;80 mg/l;100 mg/l;140 mg/l;180 mg/l;and 200 mg/l was used with 100 mg/l being the optimal coagulant dosage. The AMD sludge containing the optimal coagulant dosage of 100 mg/l is found to be able to reduce COD concentration by 34.74% and TSS concentration by 95.63% from the tested domestic wastewater sample. This research can illustrate the vast potential that the AMD sludge has as a coagulant. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The high-temperature lead-free solder alloys of Al-95Zn with the modification of the addition of Sn have been investigated. Its proportion is used to adjust the metallographic microstructure, solidified precipitate phase, and liquidus temperature of the solder alloy. The characterization results, such as scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), will be discussed in this study. The study results show that the Al-Sn-Zn-based alloy has (Zn)+β- Sn+(Al) precipitates when heat-treated at 900°C for 36 h. Its liquidus temperature of Al-95Zn + xSn is between 342-385°C, and increased Sn content will decrease its liquidus temperature. © 2023 Japan Institute of Electronics Packaging.

Acid mine drainage (AMD) sludge is by-product from AMD treatment that formed by iron deposition. This sludge has a potential to be used as an active adsorbent to remove phosphate from domestic wastewater. The adsorbent that was used in this research is AMD sludge from PT Bukit Asam Tbk., Tanjung Enim that majorly composed of Si, Fe and Al compound (determined by the XRD test). Phosphate adsorption was done by AMD sludge and MD sludge that was activated by hydrogen peroxide. Activation process by hydrogen peroxide affected the chemical and physic characteristic of sludge and it showed from the results that the concentration of Si, Fe and Al were shifted by 7.33%, 7.03%, and 1.49%, respectively. Meanwhile for the physical characteristic;specific surface area, pore volume, and pore size were shifted by 19.51 m2/g, 0.0635 cm3/g, and 142.694 nm, respectively. Phosphate removal by AMD sludge has a greater result than activated sludge. Adsorption capacity of AMD sludge was well described by Freundlich isotherm model, which is equal to 6.358 mg P/g. Meanwhile, adsorption capacity of activated sludge was well described by Langmuir isotherm model, which is equal to 0.48 mg P/g. Results in this study indicated that the activation process with hydrogen peroxide affects the ability of phosphate adsorption that was showed by the difference of removal percentage. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Smallholder coffee farmers can increase their income and competitiveness by increasing the quality of green beans produced. One of the suitable coffee bean processing technologies to be adopted in Telemung Village, Banyuwangi Regency, East Java is honey processing method. This method will produce green beans at twice the selling price of traditional processing. This quantitative research involved 15 respondents as smallholder coffee farmers. The sample in this study uses a purposive sampling technique, namely farmers who have received training on the honey processing method. The data were collected using a structured questionnaire with face-to-face interviews. The analysis showed a significant relationship between perceived ease of use and intention to adopt the technology (r= 0.724;p= 0.002), and this result was supported by a significant correlation between perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness (r= 0.730;p= 0.002). It can be concluded that farmers have a positive perception regarding the ease of use and usefulness of the honey process method. However, the barrier to technology adoption is marketing uncertainty and this technology has not been practiced in the local community. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Whiteboard animation videos are engaging learning media for Generation Z. This study aimed to develop and assess the feasibility of a whiteboard animation video for vitamin in the Nutrition Science subject for class X culinary vocational school. This study was research and development using a 4D approach (define, design, develop, disseminate). The define stage analyzed the curriculum, material, student character, learning media, and school facilities. The design stage included the writing and assessing the material, the writing and assessing of storyboards, and production team selection. The develop stage was making a video and assessing the feasibility. Animation images were created using Paint Tool Sai. Image conversion from JPEG to SVG was performed with Inkscape. The dubber's voice was recorded with Universal Audio using the Apollo Twin audio interface and Avantone CV12 microphone. The audio was edited in Pro Tools 2020.9. To produce a whiteboard animation video, animation images, captions, dubber's voice, and back sound were combined with VideoScribe. Videos used mpg format. In order to maintain video duration below 10 minutes, the video was divided into two parts. The assessment of video feasibility was carried out by one media expert and two content experts. The assessment of feasibility at the disseminate stage was carried out to 30 users. Based on the feasibility assessment, this video was very suitable to be applied as a learning medium. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

The inclusion of rainwater often compounds the damage to the road before reaching the plan life through the surface and shoulders of roads. This can lead to the release of aggregates and exfoliation of asphalt on the surface layer. The study aims to determine the level of road durability against the Marshall, volumetric, and durability properties of the HRS-WC mixture. The study used various static loading 100 Kpa, 150 Kpa, and 200 Kpa with immersion. In the immersion method, there are two differences, namely, immersion with and immersion without loading. The test objects' loading using a simple and economical test tool utilizes the beams and iron cylinders obtained from the laboratory, testing using Marshall Test. The results of the analysis obtained the durability of unloading soaked value higher than the load. The analysis results showed that the durability of the mixture was soaked seven days with a load of 100 KPa was 77.40%, for 150 Kpa amounted to 52.02%, and for 200 KPa, which is 47.67%. Analysis results showed a 7-day immersion value with a cumulative load of 68.38%, while analysis results showed a seven day immersion value with periodic loading of 75.43%. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Lifting spreader construction with a maximum capability of 180 tons every day works by carrying transformer loads that vary up to maximum loads. The loads tested were 105 tons, 125 tons, 150 tons and 180 tonsThe tool not only experiences vertical tensile load but also experiences horizontal load due to acceleration or deceleration of the overhead crane. To prevent fracture due to fatigue, the lifting spreader needs to be analyzed its service life. Obtained data of mass transformers per year and construction specification will be dynamically analyzed using SAP2000 software to gain informationmaximum and minimum stress from each of its shell nodes. Data Collectionof stress will be processed through the S-N Curve mechanism and Palmsgren Miner rules to determine the cyclic load of the fatigue life plate of spreader. This analysis found that maximum capacity 180 tons value Sf above from endurance limit state. And the assessmentdecline fatigue life of the lifting spreader based data within 45 years. The researcher recommends a decrease in the value of the capacity till to 10 percent for things that are not expected that result in a decrease in the quality of construction. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Gurami is a native fish from Indonesian waters that is much-loved by Indonesian people for daily food consumption. The gurami inhabits still waters such as swamps, lakes, and ponds. Besides that, carp cannot live in a water content that is too alkaline or acidic, the oxygen content in the water must be stable. Water quality is a very important factor and can affect the survival of cultivated fish. Several parameters must be considered in improving the development of carp, one of which is the temperature and pH of the water and automatic drainage of water. In this paper, we conduct IoT-based research that focuses on controlling water temperature and pH and automatically draining pool water. Water temperature and pH control such as a pH sensor temperature sensor and a water turbidity sensor will later be connected to the ESP 32 microcontroller which already has a wi-fi module. A system that is linked to electrical power and the internet then the sensor will read the water quality including the pH temperature value and water turbidity from inside the fish pond, after getting the data, the data will go to ESP 32. This research can help gurami cultivating farmers to make it easy to control the pH temperature and perform automatic pool water draining. The results of sensor testing with actual data are pretty accurate with the average error value of the ds18b20 sensor being 0.05% while the value of the pH sensor itself is 0.07%.
