Exploration of the effects of different S/N ratios on the accumulation of NO2-N in the autotrophic denitrification process is crucial due to no need for an external organic carbon supply. Herein, thiosulfate-driven autotrophic denitrification (SADN) was established in a sequencing batch reactor treating nitrate-containing wastewater. The long-term and batch tests observed that when sufficient thiosulfate was present, the branched thiosulfate oxidation (BTO) reaction occured. Therefore, the sulfur-to-nitrogen (S/N) molar ratio had to be maintained over 2.19 to provide enough electron donors for complete denitrification with SNaRR of 13.13 mg NO3-N/g ***. If the S/N molar ratio declined to 1.75, some nitrite accumulation would utilize the stored elemental sulfur. SNiRR increased from 0.4 – 20.1 mg NO2-N/g *** when the S/N ratio rose from 1.46 to 4.38. Under a sufficient S/N ratio, the change in nitrogen concentration followed a zero order reaction. The microbial analysis identified Desulfobacterota as key microbes, with autotrophic denitrifying bacteria accounting for more than 70%. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Coral triangle eco-region is hotspot of coastal blue carbon, and contributes to the global carbon cycling. This study aimed to elucidate the blue carbon dynamics in mangroves and their importance services as source of blue carbon in the coastal zone of coral triangle ecoregion. The blue carbon content in mangrove sediment was analyzed, while blue carbon production and its export frommangroves leaf litterfallwasestimated. The results showed that the blue carbon content in mangrove sediment was significantly higher in deep of 40-50 cm than other layers(P © 2021 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Geotourism is rapidly experiencing rapid growth in developing countries, such as Indonesia, and it is a component of sustainable tourism. In addition, the country has many areas of geodiversity in cities or towns that potentially can become urban geotourism destinations, such as the Bandung Basin area. This region is characterized by geological features, including young volcanic rocks surrounding the mountains, alluvial fans, and lake deposits at lower elevations extending from Rancaekek to the base of Mount Lagadar in the western part of the area. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the respective roles of stakeholders in urban geotourism development. The study used literature review and interview methodology, where data was interpreted with stakeholder analysis, and complemented by descriptive analysis. The results showed that stakeholders were divided into primary (quadrant 1), key (quadrant 2), and secondary (quadrant 3) categories, each with distinct interests and degree of influence. As urban tourism expands, it presents ongoing opportunities to cultivate sustainable practices within these locales. The establishment of urban geotourism necessitates the identification and evaluation of engaged stakeholders. The subsequent planning and management initiatives for the Bandung Basin area can be enhanced through the active participation of stakeholders. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

There are 19.292.789 global cancer cases, with 9.958.133 fatalities. Lung cancer is the leading cause of death among men with 1.796.144 cases, and breast cancer is most prevalent in women with 684.996 cases. In Indonesia, there were 396.914 new cases and 234.511 deaths [1]–[2]. Metastatic cancer or stage 4 cancer, is characterized by highly aggressive cancer cells that have spread to other areas of the body. Approximately 60% of advanced cancer patients with pain struggle with daily activities, impacting sleep, and exacerbating emotional distress. Depression rates among cancer patients are three times higher than the general population. Addressing these challenges without medication, PALIAVEST integrates therapies like TENS, thermotherapy, aromatherapy, and multimedia with real-time ECG monitoring via IoT. Validated trials show high accuracy of ECG sensors more than 95% with 0.8% error and TENS therapy (2 Hz and 100 Hz) at over 95% with 0.52% error. PALIAVEST ensures consistent therapeutic temperatures, enhancing care reliability and promising better patient quality of life through comprehensive palliative approaches.

Potatoes are a food source that is beneficial for humans in various aspects, such as having nutritional and economic value. However, potato plants are susceptible to many diseases. To address this issue, various researchers have suggested methods utilizing machine learning and image processing for automatic disease type detection. This paper introduces a disease detection model for potato leaf images, employing two computer vision techniques: Vision Transformer (ViT) and CoAtNet. The dataset used in this paper consisted of 30,760 augmented images divided into seven classes. The ViT model had a test accuracy of 99.32% and a validation accuracy of99.12%. Meanwhile, the CoAtNEt model had a test accuracy of 99.58 % and a validation accuracy of 99.48 %. These results show that both models can be used in the detection of potato leaf diseases.

Predicting earthquake occurrences in time series data remains a challenging task in seismology. NARX (Nonlinear Autoregressive with eXogenous input) neural networks have recently shown promise for accurate predictions. While previous research has demonstrated NARX's effectiveness in estimating earthquake frequencies, the architecture still relies on several pre-determined parameters. These parameters include the number of hidden layers, number of neurons, and delay time. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of Ensemble Deep Learning NARX neural networks in predicting time series of earthquakes. The proposed ensemble model integrates multiple NARX neural networks, each trained on a distinct subset of earthquake data. This approach aims to enhance prediction accuracy and bolster model robustness. The dataset consists of time series records detailing earthquake occurrence frequencies and magnitudes. The results show performance evaluation metrics in terms of Mean Square Error (MSE) values. For training frequency data, the MSE is 4.10e-26, and for testing, it is 6.05e-22. Regarding training magnitude data, the MSE is 2.86e-21 for training and 3.17e-19 for testing. This study makes a valuable contribution to the advancement of earthquake prediction techniques, underscoring the potential of Ensemble Deep Learning NARX neural networks for precise time series estimation in seismology.

Recently, thermal cameras have been used in various fields, including surveillance systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), as they perform better in low light than visible-light cameras. Some challenges in the surveillance system or ADAS field related to thermal cameras are occlusion and thermal crossover between objects with similar appearances during object detection or object tracking tasks, which can lead to misdetection, false positives, and lost tracking. In this paper, performance analysis of you-only-look-once (YOLO) combined with deep online real-time tracking (DeepSORT) on thermal video-based online multi-object tracking (MOT) in occlusion and thermal crossover scene is presented. YOLO, as one of state-of-the-art method for detection task, is used for detection system. Then, the detected object from YOLO is tracked using DeepSORT. The results demonstrate that the online MOT of sequential thermal images using YOLO-DeepSORT achieved a MOTA score of 44.2% and IDF1 of 45.3%. Thus, negative example was added in YOLO training process to reduce false detection, and it gives improvement with MOTA score of 63.8% and IDF1 score of 54.6%.

One of the challenges for small and medium-sized businesses is how to develop marketing targets for the products they produce, this can be done by utilizing information technology. However, based on the records of the Central Bureau of Statistics, most of the education levels of small and medium-sized business actors are elementary school graduates, which is 48% which causes them to not use information technology as a means to expand their product marketing. In this study, researchers conducted trials on the Kalamansi Syrup Business to apply information technology in the form of social media and sales applications such as Shopee, Facebook, Lazada etc. From this application, it is found that there is an increase in the number of customers who are influenced by information from the application of information technology. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper describes the design and implementation of the Ludo game on Microsoft Hololens to create a mixed reality-based application with Hololens technology connected to many services. The Ludo game is made for two players, with player one playing on Hololens and player two sending and receiving player one's data via the console. The Ludo game with Hololens is one of the results of the development of Hololens technology and the RabbitMQ Messaging Server. The Ludo game is made on Visual Studio software using UrhoSharp Framework and RabbitMQ Messaging Server service with the AMQP protocol. As application frameworks, Hololens and UrhoSharp function as devices for visualization and running games. At the same time, the RabbitMQ Messaging Server and AMQP protocol serve as services that connect two players from the Hololens and console by sending the data needed by the application. The test results show that Hololens is running successfully and communicating with other console players. Thus, the results obtained are the purpose of this paper, which is to create a mixed reality-based application with Hololens technology connected to many services.

The change in morphological patterns upstream of Ogan River were investigated to analyze land-use and climate change impact on the river meandering. This study aimed to investigate morphological changes of Ogan River in Lengkiti area between 1996 and 2019. Two sets of Landsat areal (1990 and 2016) were used to identify the morphological changes during flood periods. Data analysis used the maximum likelihood approach, t-test and Spearman correlation analysis. The morphometric indicators such as river width (W), meander neck length (L), axis length (A), curvature radius (R), water flow and sinuosity of meander (C) were extracted to identify the morphological pattern of river meandering. Analysis of land-use change used Support Vector Machine (SVM) and kernel function method to interpret the meander parameter change. Ogan River in Lengkiti, such as Batu Kuning and Marga Jaya segments, which have rice field and settlement cover from 1996 to 2019, had been cut off. Cut-off occurred due to landslides that entered river's body and narrowed riverbed. This fasted river flow even though river discharge was same, caused intensive erosion and sedimentation. The increase in water velocity increased flow power, shortened flow distance and cut-off caused reduced meander's sinuosity (C). © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
