Variable Length Multi-Objective Whale Optimization for Trust Aware Data Gathering in Wireless Sensor Network

Efficient data collection in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is crucial. While traditional approaches rely on stationary data sinks, the use of mobile sinks, like unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), has shown promise in enhancing data-gathering capabilities. However, existing methods often overlook the importance of trust, leaving the network susceptible to malicious or faulty nodes. To address this issue, we propose a novel trust-aware data-gathering algorithm, Variable Length Multi-Objective Whale Optimization Data Gathering (VLMOWO-DG). Our algorithm simultaneously optimizes energy consumption, delay, and trust while employing mobile sinks to collect data from sensor nodes. By considering trust as a key performance metric, we improve data reliability and security. The VLMOWO-DG algorithm introduces flexibility through variable-length solution representation and application-oriented operators, allowing for efficient exploration of the solution space. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed algorithm significantly outperforms established benchmarks, NSGA-II and NSGA-III, in terms of domination and hypervolume. This leads to a remarkable improvement of 200% in data gathering performance. © 2015 The Authors.

One of the methods used to increase channel capacity is the Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) methods. The increase in channel capacity in PD-NOMA multiple access means that the maximum power used by each user in each narrow band achieves increased power efficiency. Therefore, this research focuses on facilitating the increase in channel capacity by designing an antenna that produces a radiation pattern with many sharp main lobes and high gain. The multi-beam radiation pattern is obtained by using edge weighting. Therefore the antenna is designed with odd and even numbers represented by 1x5 and 1x6 antennas on the microstrip patch rectangular antenna at a frequency of 2.6 GHz. The effect of parasitic and non-parasite effects on the radiation pattern of a planar antenna with edge modeling is manageable in the main lobe, only in the side level lobe, which is not too significant. However, the number of main lobes on the 1x6 antenna has seven beam patterns, and the 1x5 antenna has five. The highest gain value obtains in the 1x6 design with a parasitic of 6.01 dB. This value meets the Gain requirements for 5G cellular systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Citrus fruit is a fruit that has good vitamins and is popular with the public. This fruit also has various types with different benefits. Each type of orange also has a variety of colors. Types of oranges can be checked manually by looking directly at the color and texture of the fruit. This manual method is very simple but also very subjective because of the different understanding of each person about the types of oranges. Therefore, this research discusses and explains how to determine the type of fruit by comparing several methods, namely using the SVM method (Support Vector Machine), the CNN method (Convolutional Neural Network), the K-NN method (K-Nearest Neighbor), and the Naïve Bayes method by taking several samples of citrus fruit images consisting of sweet oranges, lemons and limes using a mobile phone camera. The total dataset used in this study is 90 datasets consisting of 30 sweet orange images, 30 lime images and 30 lemon images. Of the 90 datasets are divided into training data and test data. From the results of the study, it was obtained that the accuracy of compatibility with a percentage of 100% using the CNN method (Convolutional Neural Network). © 2023 IEEE.

The problems and challenges for the government in seeing disease growth trend patterns are very important. This research focuses on infectious diseases, namely Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF), while non-communicable illnesses focus on epilepsy and thalassemia in 2023-2024. The priority in this research is that the Health Service can take action to prevent disease distribution patterns that are seen based on the results of identifying patterns and trends using the fuzzy c-means model and mapping for each region. The research methodology includes collecting patient data, inputted by recorded medical data consisting of sub-district data and the number of incidents. The research results of the Fuzzy C-means model in analyzing infectious disease trend patterns show 3 clusters. The first cluster of vulnerable areas has four sub-districts: Sawang, Syamtalira Bayu, Dewantara and Muara Batu. Then, the second cluster still consists of 18 sub-districts. Finally, the safe cluster consists of 8 sub-districts. Meanwhile, the results of the ward model research showed that there were 2 clusters, namely vulnerable consisting of 19 sub-districts and safe eight sub-districts, which were then included in the spatial map. Meanwhile, analysis of non-communicable disease patterns using fuzzy c-means, namely thalassemia and epilepsy in cluster C1 (High) in 4 and 7 sub-districts, medium cluster in 9 and 7, and low cluster in 14 and 16 sub-districts. Therefore, this research can provide an important picture for the Health Service in analyzing trends in cluster patterns of growth of infectious and non-communicable diseases in children. © 2023 IEEE.

The need for a communication system using VSAT technology on the Ku-Band band is now starting to develop in Indonesia, both the need for pay TV or internet provision, The problem in using VSAT Ku-band technology is propagation that occurs due to weather disturbances, especially rain. As a result of these weather conditions, it produces a high enough attenuation which can result in disruption, disturbance at a certain level can have an impact on service down. The switch diversity program is used to move channels from transmission networks that are affected by interference to other transmission channels. The fiber optic diversity channel under study has two channels. In this study, researchers conducted an analysis by making a comparison between two fiber optic cores using a diversity switch to determine the quality of the signal when the transmission path is exposed to rain. The results of the research on fiber optic links from the two transmission lines of one transmission obtain a signal quality that is less strong below the fair reference limit value where the value is-10.73 dB. Meanwhile, one transmission path has a fairly low attenuation value and signal reception is better close to the reference value. Anemia, a prevalent global medical condition affecting approximately 33% of the world's population in 2015 and 32% of Indonesian adolescents in 2018, is characterized by a reduction in red blood cell count or hemoglobin levels, resulting in diminished oxygen-carrying capacity within the bloodstream. The conventional method for detecting anemia involves Complete Blood Count (CBC), which demands specialized hematology analyzers and substantial time. In response to these constraints, the Hemocount, a portable microscope utilizing the reverse lens technique, was developed to capture high-quality images of red blood cells. This innovative approach requires blood sample standardization for optimal Hemocount performance. The technique involves inverting the mobile camera lens, aligning the sensor focus with the sample, while a preparation table and light source illuminate from below. Experiments with various lens, table, and light source configurations identified the optimal setup as employing the front camera lens from an iPhone 5s, a transparent table, and a cool white light source, yielding a digital image resolution of 42.19 nm/px. This resolution allows for blood cell detection within the size range of 165.92 px to 189.62 px. For optimal results when using Hemocount, a recommended blood concentration of 50% minimizes standard deviation, while concentrations of 30% maximize the correlation coefficient R, and 25% yield clear images by preventing red blood cell enlargement due to osmosis. © 2023 IEEE.

The electric power system must have a protection system with reliable electric power isolation, so that the supply of electrical energy works properly and optimally. There are several kinds of disturbances in the electric power distribution system, one of which is a partial discharge. This study aims to investigate the effect of plate-rod electrodes on partial discharge, partial discharge voltage limits in solid insulation, and the characteristics of partial discharge in electrode media, and waveforms in partial discharge detection sensors. After conducting research, it was found that in the plate-rod type electrode media, the PDIV voltage appeared earlier than the plate-plate electrode media due to the cross-sectional area of the electrode media. And the limit of the pre-discharge voltage of PCB type solid insulation on the plate-bar electrodes is at a voltage of 1.3 kV. Several indicators to determine the characteristics of the partial discharge are background noise off (BGN off), background noise on (BGN on), partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV), and partial discharge voltage. After being examined, the value of each partial discharge detection voltage was obtained at negative and positive polarity voltages on the electrode plates and plate needles respectively 2.85 kV, 2.95 kV and 1.32 kV, 1.57 kV. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. Coastal regions play a pivotal role in various aspects of human activity, including environmental conservation, disaster response, and navigation. Effective shoreline detection in remote sensing imagery is crucial for these applications, but the accuracy of shoreline detection is closely tied to the quality of the input imagery. Remote sensing images often suffer from issues related to contrast and noise, which can obscure critical shoreline features. This study presents a novel framework for shoreline detection, combining Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) and advanced noise removal techniques to address these issues. CLAHE is employed to enhance local contrast and improve visibility, while noise reduction techniques mitigate the impact of inherent noise in remote sensing data. Key objectives of this research include evaluating the impact of CLAHE on image contrast and shoreline visibility, assessing the effectiveness of noise removal techniques in enhancing image quality, and investigating the combined effect of CLAHE and noise removal on shoreline detection accuracy. The experimental results demonstrate the framework's potential for improving shoreline detection accuracy, with notable enhancements in contrast and visibility. By optimizing image quality, this framework contributes to the field of coastal management, environmental monitoring, and disaster response, offering a valuable tool for the accurate delineation of shorelines in remote sensing imagery. © 2023 IEEE.

Early detection of heart rate conditions in autistic children is crucial for anticipating tantrum reactions and providing prompt medical intervention. Previous research designed a prototype for acquiring Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals using the AD8232 sensor, but it required a long time to identify heart rate conditions. This study aims to develop the previous prototype using Internet of Things (IoT) implementation to acquire and identify the heart rate conditions of autistic children in real time. The ECG signal data is analyzed using Butterworth Filter and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) integrated into Raspberry Pi and results are transmitted to the Blynk App. Testing over 20 minutes showed that in the first 10 minutes, the system identified a normal heart rate at 105.19 BPM with 67% accuracy, while in the second 10 minutes, the heart rate rose to 117.19 BPM with tantrum symptoms and 75% accuracy. This system helps medical personnel provide immediate intervention during tantrums. © 2024 IEEE.

A remote telescope system has been established at Universitas Nusa Cendana, Kupang. Bosscha Observatory, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), and the Physics study program at Universitas Nusa Cendana (Undana) collaborated to develop the system. The ITB-Undana Telescope system has a QSI 616 CCD camera and BV RI Bessel filter attached to a 20-cm (f/10) Schmidt-Cassegrain reflector. Several research and public outreach activities have been conducted using the ITB-Undana remote telescope throughout 2023. When establishing a new astronomical observation site, it is imperative to conduct sky characterization and quality assessment. This process involves measuring night sky brightness and atmospheric extinction coefficients. In May 2023, we observed photometric standard stars using the absolute photometry technique with BV RI Bessel filters. We also utilized the Sky Quality Meter (SQM) to measure night sky brightness over three nights from May 24th to May 26th, 2023, to compare the sky brightness values obtained through the absolute photometry method. Our initial measurement shows a first-order extinction coefficient value ranging from kb′ = 0.269 to 0.520, kv′ = 0.216 to 0.297, kr′ = 0.019 to 0.206, and ki′ = 0.127 to 0.163, for B, V, R, and I filter, respectively. Application of extinction coefficient value in the sky field gives a mean sky brightness value in V bandpass, Vsky = 19.431 ± 0.022, with color index (B - V )sky = 0.492 ± 0.039. These night sky brightness values are suitable for measurements using the SQM. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
