This study investigates visitor preferences and willingness to pay (WTP) for circular economy attributes in Bali’s tourism sector, segmenting tourists into three groups: 3R champions, circular supporters, and traditionalists. It focuses on four core circular economy design principles: design for longevity, design for service, design for reuse in manufacturing, and design for material recovery. The results reveal strong visitor preferences for sustainable tourism practices that reduce waste, support local artisans, and lower carbon emissions. To operationalize these principles, four hypothetical tourism scenarios were developed: (1) local transitioning support, highlighting the use of locally sourced materials and recycled crafts;(2) eco-friendly adoptive package, prioritizing carbon footprint reduction through integrated services and advanced recycling systems;(3) renewable-by-design experience, featuring accommodations with reused art and recyclable materials;and (4) circular tourism development, which integrates all circular economy attributes. These findings offer strategic insights for designing a more sustainable and resilient tourism model in Bali. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Acid mine drainage (AMD) treatment leaves residue in the form of sludge that contains large amounts of metal, silica, ferric, and alum. This research aims to determine the capabilities that AMD sludge-synthesized coagulant has in reducing COD and TSS concentration in domestic wastewater. The domestic wastewater sample used in this research is an artificial domestic wastewater with a COD concentration of 285 mg/l and a TSS concentration of 245.31 mg/l. After going through Acidification process, AMD sludge coagulant contains Si (43.66%), Fe (30.02%), dan Al (12.35%). A jar test is then performed in order to determine the optimal coagulant dosage. In this process, a coagulant dosage of 40 mg/;60 mg/l;80 mg/l;100 mg/l;140 mg/l;180 mg/l;and 200 mg/l was used with 100 mg/l being the optimal coagulant dosage. The AMD sludge containing the optimal coagulant dosage of 100 mg/l is found to be able to reduce COD concentration by 34.74% and TSS concentration by 95.63% from the tested domestic wastewater sample. This research can illustrate the vast potential that the AMD sludge has as a coagulant. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This research focuses on Sanur Harbor, an inter-island ferry port located in southern Bali. The majority of visitors to Sanur Harbor are tourists who want to travel to Nusa Penida Island. At this port, facilities are available in the form of a Public Address System (PAS) and Information officers whose job is to provide information regarding the arrival and departure of ships. However, the effectiveness of this facility is limited for deaf people. Deaf people often have difficulty getting this information independently and often have to rely on manual assistance from officers. This research aims to develop software based on sign language video integration which aims to increase the accessibility of departure and arrival information at Sanur Harbor for deaf people in Bali. The software development method uses a user-centered design development approach which involves the stages of needs analysis, design, implementation, and evaluation. Sign language videos will be integrated into the software as a medium to convey important information about ship departure and arrival schedules, travel routes, pier names, fast boat names, and other important information to deaf users. Evaluation is carried out through user testing and collecting feedback from users regarding understandability, usability, and user satisfaction with the software being developed. It is hoped that the results of this research can make a positive contribution to increasing information accessibility for deaf people in Sanur Harbor and can become a basis for developing similar technology in other locations.

Acid mine drainage (AMD) sludge is by-product from AMD treatment that formed by iron deposition. This sludge has a potential to be used as an active adsorbent to remove phosphate from domestic wastewater. The adsorbent that was used in this research is AMD sludge from PT Bukit Asam Tbk., Tanjung Enim that majorly composed of Si, Fe and Al compound (determined by the XRD test). Phosphate adsorption was done by AMD sludge and MD sludge that was activated by hydrogen peroxide. Activation process by hydrogen peroxide affected the chemical and physic characteristic of sludge and it showed from the results that the concentration of Si, Fe and Al were shifted by 7.33%, 7.03%, and 1.49%, respectively. Meanwhile for the physical characteristic;specific surface area, pore volume, and pore size were shifted by 19.51 m2/g, 0.0635 cm3/g, and 142.694 nm, respectively. Phosphate removal by AMD sludge has a greater result than activated sludge. Adsorption capacity of AMD sludge was well described by Freundlich isotherm model, which is equal to 6.358 mg P/g. Meanwhile, adsorption capacity of activated sludge was well described by Langmuir isotherm model, which is equal to 0.48 mg P/g. Results in this study indicated that the activation process with hydrogen peroxide affects the ability of phosphate adsorption that was showed by the difference of removal percentage. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Waste generation from food manufacturing facilities poses a serious hazard like environmental degradation, water pollution, and land pollution due to its high nutrient composition. Specifically, solid waste(powder) disposal requires additional energy sources in terms of scientific treatment, structured collection, and disposal packaging according to the safety regulation. Thus, this research discusses the viewpoint of integrating food processing waste as an organic carbon source with BG-11 medium for Chlorella vulgaris(FSP-E) growth. The food processing waste powders investigated in this study were obtained from milk, and biscuit manufacturing facilities. The culture medium was modified by combining both BG-11 and food processing waste powders to identify the optimal algal growth and biochemical *** to the microalgae grown in BG-11 alone(IBG), the combination of biscuit waste and IBG produced higher biomass concentration(44%), with increased lipid(11%), protein(20%), and carbohydrate(57%) contents. Chlorella vulgaris was able to uptake nutrients from the culture medium with combination of food processing waste and IBG thus enhancing its growth. The results obtained also indicate that an integrated culture system using food processing waste and synthetic sources can generate energy out of waste by improving the bio-composition of the microalgae biomass.

The experiment was carried out by growing BaTiO3 (Undoped or Li-doped) on p-type Si(1 0 0) substrates using the Chemical Solution Deposition (CSD) method and spin coating at a rotational speed of 3000 rpm for 60 s, followed by heating at 850 °C. The characterization results show that the bandgap energy value of the thin film due to lithium doping reduces the bandgap energy value. This is presumably because the donor atom added to a semiconductor causes the allowable energy level to be slightly below the conduction band. The presence of this new band causes the thin film bandgap energy to decrease with a five-valent tantalum dip. The morphological properties showed that the BaTiO3/Si(1 0 0) thin film particles in the deposited lithium had a fairly homogeneous grain. With the addition of lithium acetate as a binder into barium titanate, the grain size is getting smaller because it is suspected that the lithium-ion radius is smaller than the barium-ion radius. Measurement of I-V on the thin film shows that the output voltage value increases with more light intensity hitting the surface of the thin film. The greater the light intensity, the greater the energy of the photons, so the electrons are easier to jump. The three things above (both electrical and morphological properties) conclude that the thin films grown have the potential for photovoltaics. © 2023

The pandemic has brought many negative impacts on human life. One of the negative impacts is economic downturn of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSME) actors in Bangka Belitung Province. To solve this problem, a website-based marketplace platform called Yobagi was created. As we know, a new software product must have a good user experience. By having a good user experience means that the product has met the needs of its users. For this reason, an evaluation of the user experience is necessary. This study aims to measure the user experience of using Yobagi. The evaluation uses the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) tool, which consists of six scales: Attractiveness, Efficiency, Perspicuity, Dependability, Stimulation, and Novelty. There were 40 respondents who were taken from the top of MSME actors. As the UX evaluation results, it is known that the final score of the six scales is above 0.8 and at the excellent level. This means that Yobagi users have a very good user experience in using Yobagi. In addition, Yobagi has met the criteria for good software by having an excellent user experience value. © 2022 IEEE.

High performance polysulfone (PSf) membrane has been prepared for treating of batik palembang wastewater. Many investigations attempted the use of polysulfone (PSf) membranes to filtrate dilute contaminant in textile wastewater. The matrix membrane is a mixture of PSf which is produced by adding inorganic materials to obtain a polymer that functions to manufacture the membrane by increasing hydrophilicity and impurity resistance. MMM were fabricated from a dope solution containing PSf/LiCl/DMF at different additives composition. Antifouling properties of membranes could be enhance with 0.0 - 10 wt.% LiCl that has been added into dope solution. Pure water permeation flux analysis (PWP), AFM and FESEM. From the results of research on FESEM, the PSf / LiCL membrane showed a fairly symmetrical cross-sectional structure containing two layers. The layers of the tiny finger-like structure on the edge of the perforated fibers and the holes like the larger fingers are mixed with the macrovoid layer in the middle section. PWP flux is not proportional to mean rough outer surface but higher water permeation. Therefore, PSf/LiCl exhibited a better performance that resulted a much lower fouling tendency than the naked membrane in batik Palembang wastewater treatment. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The local government of a city as an organization depends on decision makers in government management to support the vision and mission of the city to achieve eco-city goals based on data and information from several knowledge domains. Knowledge management is seen as an increasingly important scientific discipline that encourages the creation, sharing and utilization of knowledge in an organization. Knowledge management is also related to the concept of intellectual capital, the most valuable organizational resource. Knowledge sharing systems are designed to help decision makers and stakeholders share their knowledge. Most knowledge management systems in organizations are designed to share the explicit knowledge of individuals, organizations and finally distributed to the community. This research is the approach in the development model that can be used in the governance to achieve eco-city goals. Complex knowledge about eco-cities requires policies that are based on current knowledge and can be implemented immediately with a thorough understanding of all aspects. The results of this study are understanding the problem of knowledge sharing as a valuable organizational asset, designing a knowledge sharing systems model, and improving systems to improve the quality of knowledge. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Robots have become increasingly important in a variety of life domains as a result of the rapid advancement of technology. Additionally, robots are employed in education as teaching assistants in science, art, and language courses. This research aims to explore the potential of robotic systems as a multipurpose tool for increasing cultural awareness, language proficiency, and communicative competence in the GenAI era. Language games, conversation simulations, and real-time feedback mechanisms are just a few examples of interactive scenarios enabled by virtual robot systems or tutor robots that enable immersive language experiences that go beyond the limitations of conventional schooling. This research contributes knowledge that explores how AI can be used to personalize language teaching according to the needs and learning styles of each student in higher education. The total population of undergraduate students involved in this research was 350 for the 2023 academic year, with 24 students selected purposefully based on sample characteristics from this group who were exposed to using AI for one semester. The research method used is a mix method with quantitative analysis of the results of surveys and interviews with students who are known to have given positive responses and proposes a comprehensive strategy for using AI robot technology in EFL classrooms, which can significantly improve effective learning outcomes. The survey results also show that if educators have a solid understanding of the relationship between linguistic acquisition and technological advances, they will be better prepared to design engaging, individualized lessons that prepare their students to use the language effectively in real-world contexts. The robot-assisted language learning (RALL) approach used in this study, with the integration of robots in the classroom, has the potential to change the way people learn languages to make it more interesting, fun, and motivating, increase engagement
