In this study, the iron oxide/titanium dioxide (a-Fe2O3/TiO2) nanocomposites derived from Logas natural sand were prepared by ball milling method. The effects of milling time on the magnetic, optical properties and chemical composition of the nanocomposites were investigated using vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), Uv-Vis spectroscopy and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectroscopy, respectively. The magnetization measurement results of all the samples showed the presence of ferromagnetic behaviour characterized by their low coercivity value ranged from 360.10 Oe to 86.50Oe. The optical properties of the samples strongly depend on milling time and showed that the band gaps of the iron oxide/titanium dioxide (a-Fe2O3/TiO2) nanocomposites decrease with increasing milling time. Some other elements such as silicon, aluminium and others were detected, which shows that the milled sample is not purely a-Fe2O3/TiO2 nanocomposites as confirmed by X-Ray Fluorescence. This study demonstrates the simple way of preparing the a-Fe2O3/TiO2 nanocomposites for environmental application. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Exploration of the effects of different S/N ratios on the accumulation of NO2-N in the autotrophic denitrification process is crucial due to no need for an external organic carbon supply. Herein, thiosulfate-driven autotrophic denitrification (SADN) was established in a sequencing batch reactor treating nitrate-containing wastewater. The long-term and batch tests observed that when sufficient thiosulfate was present, the branched thiosulfate oxidation (BTO) reaction occured. Therefore, the sulfur-to-nitrogen (S/N) molar ratio had to be maintained over 2.19 to provide enough electron donors for complete denitrification with SNaRR of 13.13 mg NO3-N/g ***. If the S/N molar ratio declined to 1.75, some nitrite accumulation would utilize the stored elemental sulfur. SNiRR increased from 0.4 – 20.1 mg NO2-N/g *** when the S/N ratio rose from 1.46 to 4.38. Under a sufficient S/N ratio, the change in nitrogen concentration followed a zero order reaction. The microbial analysis identified Desulfobacterota as key microbes, with autotrophic denitrifying bacteria accounting for more than 70%. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The student of vocational high school nowadays are classified as generation Z. They are common to use information and communication technology. They prefer audio-visual learning media rather than podcast recording or text media. This study aimed to develop a video on making dry banana for the Agriculture Product Processing course and assessing the video's feasibility. This study was a research & development (R&D) study using the 4D (define, design, develop, and disseminate) approach. Analysis of content, curriculum, and student needs was carried out in the define stage. The scriptwriting and production team selection was conducted in the design stage. Video recording, editing, and feasibility test from experts were performed in the development stage. The video was evaluated by two content experts and one media expert. In the disseminate stage, thirty students as prospective consumers evaluated the video feasibility. The data were analyzed descriptively. The video was in the mp4 format and had a duration of 13 minuter and 13 seconds. The video has been provided with high-definition images, captions, pictures, 2D animations, transitions, and effects. The experts and the students rated this video to be very feasible to be used as instructional media. © 2021 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Production losses of agricultural commodities on agricultural land due to product defects depend on the level of pest and disease attacks. Defects cause the product not to be harvested or rejected by the market. Data from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia in 2021 shows the percentage of defective products for this commodity is 5%. This study aims to detect defects in agricultural products using image processing and artificial neural networks. We used the screening threshold method with potato research samples from Dieng, Indonesia. The study results for spot defects showed that from 100 training data, there were five incorrect identification data, so the accuracy of the training process was 95%. At the same time, the hole defect accuracy is better, which is 97%. It shows that defects in agricultural commodities can be detected using this method. For further research, the development of agricultural product sorting can combine sorting techniques with this method. © 2022 IEEE.

Whiteboard animation videos are engaging learning media for Generation Z. This study aimed to develop and assess the feasibility of a whiteboard animation video for vitamin in the Nutrition Science subject for class X culinary vocational school. This study was research and development using a 4D approach (define, design, develop, disseminate). The define stage analyzed the curriculum, material, student character, learning media, and school facilities. The design stage included the writing and assessing the material, the writing and assessing of storyboards, and production team selection. The develop stage was making a video and assessing the feasibility. Animation images were created using Paint Tool Sai. Image conversion from JPEG to SVG was performed with Inkscape. The dubber's voice was recorded with Universal Audio using the Apollo Twin audio interface and Avantone CV12 microphone. The audio was edited in Pro Tools 2020.9. To produce a whiteboard animation video, animation images, captions, dubber's voice, and back sound were combined with VideoScribe. Videos used mpg format. In order to maintain video duration below 10 minutes, the video was divided into two parts. The assessment of video feasibility was carried out by one media expert and two content experts. The assessment of feasibility at the disseminate stage was carried out to 30 users. Based on the feasibility assessment, this video was very suitable to be applied as a learning medium. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have an important role in improving the economy of small communities and the stability of the Indonesian economy. However, they still face various problems such as capital, raw materials, distribution, licensing, and others. This study developed a special treatment recommendation system to increase the independence of MSMEs by adopting a ranking-based method to produce recommendations related to problem-solving steps from MSMEs. The ranking method used Normalized Rating Frequency (NRF). This method performed an aggregation process of the ratings given by MSMEs in looking at the priority level of problem-solving based on previous experience. The result of the experiment showed that an average NDCG value was 0.7916. This explained that the quality of the ranking was good so that it was feasible to be recommended in solving problems in the form of special treatment to acquire to the independence of MSMEs. © 2021 IEEE

This research aimed to observe the relationship between cohesiveness, social justice, and innovativeness with environmental sanitation behaviour on households at Sukakarya, West Java. The method used was survey method with a correlational study by involving 85 samples. There were four instruments which measured environmental sanitation behaviour, cohesiveness, social justice, and innovativeness. Data has been analysed using ANOVA. Research results revealed that there is a positive and significant correlation among those variables, even though it has been controlled by second-order correlation, it is still significant among them. Therefore, it may be concluded that if environmental sanitation behaviour would be improved, then cohesiveness, social justice, and innovativeness should be taken into consideration. We study the carbon dioxide reduction reaction(CO_(2)RR)activity and selectivity of Fe single-atom catalyst(Fe-SAC)and Fe dual-atom catalyst(Fe-DAC)active sites at the interior of graphene and the edges of graphitic nanopore by using a combination of DFT calculations and microkinetic *** trend of limiting potentials for CO_(2)RR to produce CO can be described by using either the adsorption energy of COOH,CO,or their ***_(2)RR process with reasonable reaction rates can be achieved only on the active site configurations with weak tendencies toward CO *** efficiency of CO_(2)RR on a catalyst depends on its ability to suppress the parasitic hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),which is directly related to the behavior of H adsorption on the catalyst’s active *** find that the edges of the graphitic nanopore can act as potential adsorption sites for an H atom,and in some cases,the edge site can bind the H atom much stronger than the main Fe *** linear scaling between CO and H adsorptions is broken if this condition is *** condition also allows some edge active site configurations to have their CO_(2)RR limiting potential lower than the HER process favoring CO production over H2 production.

A collaborative course called Global Awareness for Technology Implementation was conducted by the faculty of engineering, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, and the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. The objective of this course was to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, perspectives, and experiences between Thai and Japanese students through project work, using an engineering design approach and the design thinking process to create innovation relevant to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). During the class, experts shared their knowledge and experiences with the students. The students then worked on their respective projects to develop solution concepts using the design thinking process. The proposed ideas include the application for English class, smart water quality checker, hydrogen-based energy system for rural area, reduced wasted fashion solution, and auto waste sorting machine. Finally, this study concluded with a summary of the results and findings on the empathy process in the chosen SDGs, and of the commonalities and differences between Thailand and Japan in terms of ideation. © 2023 IEEE.

Cataracts are the main factor causing blindness in Indonesia. Traditional diagnostic methods involving clinical examination by an ophthalmologist using a slit-lamp and visual tests have many challenges such as limited resources, time, and medical expertise may not be available in all locations, especially in less developed areas. Utilizing medical image technology is a wise choice because it allows early detection and monitoring of the development of this cataract disease Technology is needed to identify medical images that have valuable information so that early detection or monitoring of cataract development can be carried out. CNN as a part of deep learning has the ability to perform automatic feature extraction so that it can identify eye images. A CNN model for recognizing cataracts in eye images taken directly from Bhayangkara Hospital in Denpasar Bali has been developed in this research. The model developed is equipped with a dropout layer technique to prevent overfitting. The test results show that the CNN developed in this research produces very good performance with an average accuracy level of 92% on public dataset images, and 94% on primary dataset images. Tested using the primary dataset and public dataset, this CNN model shows very good performance because it can correctly identify an average of 94% of eye images in the primary dataset, and 92% of eye images in the public dataset..
