Earthquakes frequently cause significant damage to residential buildings and lead to loss of life. As a result, houses in earthquake-prone areas must adhere to earthquake-resistant building codes. Recently, RISHA (Simple Healthy Instant House), developed by PUSKIM (Center for Settlement Research and Housing Development), has been commonly implemented as housing in areas impacted by earthquakes, including East Nusa Tenggara, West Nusa Tenggara, Aceh, and Cianjur Regency, RISHA homes have been provided to residents in relocation areas. This study aims to assess the viability of using RISHA as a replacement for conventional houses in Cianjur Regency. The analysis predicts the structural response of RISHA and conventional houses to the Cianjur earthquake, using the spectrum response method based on SNI 1726:2019. Using SAP2000 software, the study evaluates deflection, bending moment, and base shear force. The findings indicate that RISHA exhibits lower deflection, bending moment, and shear force compared to conventional houses, with values being 12.5%, 65%, and 66.5% of those in traditional houses, respectively. Based on these results, it is concluded that RISHA offers superior structural performance in resisting earthquakes compared to conventional residential buildings. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Microbial electrosynthesis system (MES) is a promising method that can use carbon dioxide,which is a greenhouse gas,to produce methane which acts as an energy source,without using organic ***,this bioelectrical reduction reaction can proceed at a certain high applied voltage when coupled with water oxidation in the anode coated with metallic *** coupled with the oxidation of HS–to SO_(4)^(2-),methane production is thermodynamically more feasible,thus implying its production at a considerably lower applied *** this study,we demonstrated the possibility of electrotrophic methane production coupled with HS–oxidation in a cost-effective bioanode chamber in the MES without organic substrates at a low applied voltage of 0.2 *** addition,microbial community analyses of biomass enriched in the bioanode and biocathode were used to reveal the most probable pathway for methane production from HS–*** the bioanode,electroautotrophic SO_(4)^(2-)production accompanied with electron donation to the electrode is performed mainly by the following two steps:first,incomplete sulfide oxidation to sulfur cycle intermediates (SCI) is performed;then the produced SCI are disproportionated to HS^(–)and SO_(4)^(2-).In the biocathode,methane is produced mainly via H_(2)and acetate by electronaccepting syntrophic bacteria,homoacetogens,and acetoclastic ***,a new ecofriendly MES with biological H_(2)S removal is established.

This study aims to develop an edible coating based on virgin coconut oil (VCO) nanoemulsion, iota-carrageenan and alginate to prolong the shelf life of pindang (mildly salted cooked) fish products. The research involved three stages: material preparation, characterization and determination of factors and responses for experimental design;parameter optimization to achieve optimal conditions;and application and analysis of pre- and post-coating characteristics of pindang fish. The parameter ranges were 0.5–1.5% for alginate concentration, 0.5–1.5% for iota-carrageenan concentration and 0.5–1.0% for VCO nanoemulsion concentration. The result of this study was an optimized food coating solution that was clear and bright white in color. Pindang fish coated with this layer showed improved quality in terms of water content (48.46%), weight loss (0.39%), pH (5.84), total volatile base (47.01%), salt content (2.9%), appearance (7), texture (7) and slime (7). At the same time, the total bacterial count remained unchanged (8 log colony-forming units (CFU)/g), the mold count remained unchanged (5 log CFU/g) and the aroma and taste received a score of 6. Thus, this study successfully produced an optimized edible coating that can enhance the quality and extend the shelf life of pindang fish, making it suitable for broader market distribution. © 2023 ICE Publishing. Effective spatio-temporal measurements of water surface elevation (water waves) in laboratory experiments are essential for scientific and engineering research. Existing techniques are often cumbersome, computationally heavy and generally suffer from limited wavenumber/frequency response. To address this challenge, we propose the Wave (from) Polarized Light Learning (WPLL), a learning based remote sensing method for laboratory implementation, capable of inferring surface elevation and slope maps in high resolution. The method uses the polarization properties of the light reflected from the water surface. The WPLL uses a deep neural network (DNN) model that approximates the water surface slopes from the polarized light intensities. Once trained on simple monochromatic wave trains, the WPLL is capable of producing high-resolution and accurate reconstruction of the 2D water surface slopes and elevation in a variety of irregular wave fields. The method’s robustness is demonstrated by showcasing its high wavenumber/frequency response, its ability to reconstruct wave fields propagating in arbitrary angles relative to the camera optical axis, and its computational efficiency. This developed methodology is an accurate and cost-effective near-real time remote sensing tool for laboratory water surface waves measurements, setting the path for upscaling to open sea application for research, monitoring, and short-time forecasting. © 2024, CC BY-NC-ND.

The purpose of this study was to obtain pie susu mocaf-spirulina products with local fruit varieties (pineapple and Balinese grapes). Mocaf (modified cassava flour) has characteristics similar to low protein flour and gluten free. Spirulina is a type of blue-green algae that is considered a super food because of its nutritional properties that are very good for health. The research method includes 1) experimental trials of the formula for mocaf spirulina pie susu, in the variation of the addition of spirulina to the formulation of mocaf pie susu 2) conduct an Organoleptic Test, with an instrument using the Visual Analog Score (VAS) for the Hedonic test (preference) 3) Perform an Organoleptic Test, with an instrument using VAS for the Hedonic Quality test (quality). The results showed: 1) obtained a pastry formulation (skin) of mocaf pie susu with the addition of 2.5 gr of spirulina (0.5% of the weight of the ingredients) ained mocaf pie susu formulation with the addition of 2.5gr spirulina to mocaf pie susu with pineapple and grape vla;2) The level of preference for mocaf spirulina pie susu (pineapple vla and grape vla) is the color of the likes category, the texture of the likes, the aroma of the likes and the taste of the likes. 3) the quality level of mocaf spirulina pie susu (pineapple vla and grape vla) is greenish color, crunchy texture, pastry fragrant aroma and sweet taste. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Ultrathin carbon biphenylene network as an anisotropic thermoelectric material with high temperature stability under mechanical strain

Carbon biphenylene network (C-BPN), which is an ultrathin material consisting of carbon atoms arranged in square-hexagonal-octagonal (4-6-8) periodic rings, has intriguing properties for nano-scale device design due to its unique crystal structure. Here, using the Landauer formalism in combination with first-principles calculations, we show that C-BPN is a highly stable thermoelectric material at elevated temperatures under mechanical strain, where its thermoelectric efficiency can be anisotropically engineered. Transport calculations reveal that C-BPN's transmission spectrum has significant degrees of directional anisotropy and it undergoes a metal-insulator transition under strain, which leads to an increase in its Seebeck coefficient. C-BPN's lattice thermal conductance can be selectively tuned up to 35% bidirectionally at room temperature by strain engineering. Enhancement in its power factor and the suppression of its lattice thermal conductance improves the p-type figure of merit up to 0.31 and 0.46 at 300 and 500 K, respectively. Our findings reveal that C-BPN has high potency to be used in thermoelectric nanodevices with selective anisotropic properties at elevated temperatures.

To mitigate floods and droughts in Thailand, the reservoir operations need accurate and reliable hydro-parameter information, e.g., inflow, to support decision making. In this paper, we explore and develop the predictive models for predicting the next-day inflow of the Bhumibol Dam, one of the major reservoirs of Thailand. We applied the machine learning techniques including decision tree, support vector regression, random forest, and extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost). Daily reservoir and climate Data from 2000 to 2021 were used in the analysis. After the series of experiments of model development, we finalize the model with the random forest algorithm having the best performance of MAE=4.232, MSE=83.823, and R2=0.867. However, we believe that the models and the feature sets can be further explored and developed to achieve the better accuracy. As a result, we could practically incorporate the inflow prediction model to aid decision making in the reservoir operation. © 2022 IEEE.

The rapid development of technology presents a new paradigm, one of which is in the transportation sector. The concept of smart mobility is one of the components in the realization of a smart city, which is closely related to the transportation sector. The Purwokerto-Purbalingga Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is the government's effort to encourage the transportation sector towards smart mobility. It requires three crucial categories: Accessibility, sustainability, and communication and information technology. This study proves and explains that these three categories can be fulfilled by the Purwokerto-Purbalingga Bus Rapid Transit, especially from women's perception, indicated by an average accessibility score of 4.04, sustainability of 4.22, and Information and Communication Technology of 3.80. Efforts that can be taken by the government and Bus Rapid Transit managers include monitoring and evaluating bus stops and bus arrival frequencies as well as developing mobile-based applications that provide real-time information related to bus rapid transit. © 2021 IEEE.

Consumption is an essential aspect of daily life, and fulfilling customer needs requires efficient distribution of goods. Therefore, distributors are needed and they frequently set targets for their employees to achieve, and motivation plays a significant role in employee performance. An organization that distributes goods called CV Karya Prima motivates its employees by offering incentives. However, manual incentive calculation sets out problems such as a lack of progress tracking, irregular payout dates, and probable inaccuracies. This study aims to develop a web-based incentive calculation system using the analytical hierarchy process method and a database for data retrieval. The system utilizes PHP, CodeIgniter, and MySQL and adopts the SDLC prototyping method. The developed system is focused on the sales division and variables like total sales, effective calls, calls, and outlets. The web-based system is capable of solving the issues using the features that were built based on user needs and have already been tested through user acceptance testing.
