Cities are developing due to population growth, socio-economic structure changes, technology and spatial interaction with its surroundings. "Bagian Wilayah Kota (BWK) C"or so-called "urban zone C"of Bandar Lampung municipality comprising districts of Sukarame, Tanjung Senang, and Way Halim is currently growing both internally and externally due to the development of Trans-Sumatera highway and Institute Teknologi Sumatera (ITERA). The dynamics of development and activities have caused a growing physical urban space, affecting the changes of urban structure directly. The current development in BWK C has been considered as unmanageable and potentially caused some problems in spatial plan in the future. To prevent the chaotic of spatial plan in the future, this study aims to identify the changes of urban structure in BWK C of Bandar Lampung municipality due to the internal and external development of its area. This study benefits in providing comprehensive standpoints about the process of urban structure changes based on urban activities so that city government could gain a systematic discourse of urban development which advantages in policymaking for spatial development in Bandar Lampung municipality in the future. This study conducted several analytical methods ranging from comparative analysis, spatial analysis, and hierarchical centrality index analysis. For data collection, this study applied secondary data survey and field work observation, using data from 2010 to 2016. The findings of this study reveal that the physical development in BWK C is getting compacted as its morphology changed from ribbon shaped city to octopus shaped city. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The occurrence of landslides in the hills of Walahir, Kidang Pananjung village, Cililin subdistrict. Bandung in May 2004 needed attention and research so that the causes of the landslide could be identified. This landslide took many lives and property, heaped around 5 hectares of rice fields and residents' villages below and claimed 15 lives. Based on geotechnical investigations, the slip plane is at a depth of 4 meters from the ground surface and the area of the landslide ranges from 30,000 m2 leaving weathered rock beneath. Is the opening of agricultural land and fields followed by the use of chemical fertilizers is one of the causes of landslides? This study aims to determine the effect of a single chemical fertilizer (Urea, Za, SP36) and compound (Green Giant NPK, MKP) on the soil under conditions of optimum water content and water saturation or soaked which are carried out at the Chemical Laboratory of the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources of Bandung and Mechanics Laboratory Bandung Institute of Technology. Research on the influence of chemical fertilizers which is carried out using percentages of 1%, 2% and 3% with a relatively short ripening time intends to analyze the extent to which chemical fertilizers have an effect. Research is limited to the identification of minerals and chemical elements of original soil, soil physis properties, Atterberg boundaries, soil index properties, soil classification, soil elastic modulus. Hypothesis;The chemical content of fertilizers in the soil causes changes in soil characteristics. The method of taking original soil is by drilling original soil around the area where landslide disaster occurred at the same height as the height of the landslide slope, soil samples taken from depths of 1 meter and 3 meters from the surface of the land or the base layer between soil and rocks based on ASTM D-1452, 1587, 1586. The 2 stroke single cylinder (63 cc) engine of 750 watt electric generator is very popular in the application because providing enough amount of electricity for small house hold with compact size, light weight with reasonable price. Usually this type of electric generator is fuelled with gasoline that mixed with oil as lubricant. The cylinder volume of the engine is usually around 63 cc. This type of engine can be fuelled with biogas with addition component to mix biogas together with air and lubricant, and set the compression pressure at 10 bar. Biogas mainly contain methane (CH4), carbon dioxide (CO2), moisture (H2O), and hydrogen sulfide (H2S). The CH4 is combustible gas and can be used as a fuel for internal combustion engine. Moisture and H2S are easily removed from biogas. To remove CO2 from biogas is about difficult and costly, therefore acceptable content of CO2 in the biogas should be investigate related with the fuel consumption. This research is conducted to understand the influent of ratio CH4 and CO2 in the biogas to fuel consumption of the 2 stroke single cylinder engine of 750 watt electric generator. The variations ratio of CH4 and CO2 were obtained from anaerobic digester with batch system. The results indicate that the CH4 and CO2 ration in the range 1.667-1.967 will yield optimum efficiency that reach biogas consumption in the range of 9.1-9.8 liter/minute. © 2021 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

The 2018 Sulawesi Earthquake and Tsunami severely damaged the coast of Palu City, Indonesia. The city did not have adequate mitigation system for a tsunami. A tsunami inundation map is required. This study based on modelling four scenarios of possible earthquake-induced tsunami. The earthquakes were identified based on data from PUSGEN. The generated tsunami wave is simulated using Delft3D and Delft Dashboard. The wave propagation is modeled using nesting method. This method couples different grid sizes. Nesting process helps to ensure the model efficiency and accuracy. The results provide the maximum inundation map along the Palu City Coast. These results can be used by decision maker to develop the coastal zone management of Palu City. Furthermore, they can be utilized to propose a disaster risk management plan. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this research, the ability of papaya tree trunks as nanocellulose adsorbent for dyes removal was conducted. The synthesis of nanocellulose is carried out in several steps, including isolation of cellulose using the extraction method, immersion with a variety of alkaline bases, namely KOH, KOH+NH3, and KOH+Na2CO3 and synthesis of nanocellulose by hydrolysis reaction. The adsorption process was carried out in batch method, by contacting the nanocellulose adsorbent with the dye, then filtered and observed the change in concentration using UV-Vis. Meanwhile, to observe the functional groups contained in the nanocellulose obtained from synthesis of papaya tree stems FTIR result was evaluated. The results showed that all cellulose-forming groups (CO, CH2, CH) were present in synthesis nanocellulose in accordance with those of the commercial. The synthesis results with variations in the alkaline base which the closest to commercial yield was the variation with the alkaline KOH base. In addition, determination of adsorption performance of ones is compared with performance of commercial nanocellulose. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Conventional wastewater treatment plants suffering from several industrial effluents overlap, trihalomethane (byproduct after free chlorine disinfection), and high construction cost. This study successfully prepared and compare a novel mixing of coagulants ferric/ferrous chloride (50:50) with other traditional individual coagulants such as ferric chloride, ferrous chloride, and aluminum chloride for domestic wastewater treatment. The results obtained indicated that the mixture of ferric/ferrous chloride is more efficient than other coagulants to meet the requirements of the Egyptian code for reuse of treated wastewater in different agricultural applications. Also, this study successfully replaced traditional chlorine addition by low-cost green synthesis of nano-Zero Valent Iron (GT-nZVI) for tertiary wastewater treatment. A continuous flow system was successfully built to achieve the treatment requirements in an economical and fast way. Finally, this study strongly supported using the proposed system rather than traditional wastewater treatment technologies in decentralized wastewater treatment units to overcome the combination of industrial effluents to the municipal wastewater networks and to reduce hazardous material produced after using traditional chlorine disinfectant. © 2021 American Institute of Chemical Engineers. This research is an approach to intelligent vehicles with a LoRa communication system, LoRaWAN compatible for Long-Range and Outdoor Communication, but in this paper, we will test the ability of LoRa to handle autonomous vehicles, a Blind-Adaptive Data method will be tried on vehicles systems. The system offered is when the vehicle is running, the sensor will send position data in real-time, the number of vehicles is four, and GPS data is sent alternately using the Blind Adaptive Data Rate principle to avoid data collisions, and when the GPS shows a certain position, the value of SF is ascertained, which affects the data rate and ToA, and the output given is RSSI on each car, speed of a car, power consumption of sensor nodes, signal power, SNR, Bit rate or data rate, and sensitivity. With the Blind ADR principle, it is ensured that there is no data collision between car position data that causes packet loss. © 2023 IEEE.

Biosynthesis and biodegradation of microorganisms critically underpin the development of biotechnology,new drugs and therapies,and environmental ***,most uncultured microbial species along with their metabolic capacities in extreme environments,remain *** we unravel the metabolic potential of microbial dark matters(MDMs)in four deep-inland hypersaline lakes in Xinjiang,*** metagenomic binning,we uncovered a rich diversity of 3030 metagenomeassembled genomes(MAGs)across 82 phyla,revealing a substantial portion,2363 MAGs,as previously unclassified at the genus *** unknown MAGs displayed unique distribution patterns across different lakes,indicating a strong correlation with varied physicochemical *** analysis revealed an extensive array of 9635 biosynthesis gene clusters(BGCs),with a remarkable 9403 being novel,suggesting untapped biotechnological ***,some MAGs from potentially new phyla exhibited a high density of these *** biosynthesis,our study also identified novel biodegradation pathways,including dehalogenation,anaerobic ammonium oxidation(Anammox),and degradation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)and plastics,in previously unknown microbial *** findings significantly enrich our understanding of biosynthesis and biodegradation processes and open new avenues for biotechnological innovation,emphasizing the untapped potential of microbial diversity in hypersaline environments.

Based on the morphology of the banana leaf's midrib, this study investigates, designs, models, and analyzes the performance of a 3D airfoil in terms of aerodynamics. The objective is to discover if the banana leaf midrib airfoil is suitable for a low-wind-velocity horizontal-axis wind turbine. Model the aerodynamic analysis wind velocity at 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 meters per second applying QBLADE and ANSYS Fluent. The selected tip speed ratio is 6 for a blade with a radius of 12.5 m and a chord length of 3.180 m. The investigation is conducted in 3D with QBLADE and ANSYS Fluent. Single Reference Frame (SRF) approach with periodic boundary conditions in ANSYS Fluent. According to the data, the coefficient of power was calculated to be 0.46 when QBLADE was used. The average margin of error was 16.4 percentage points lower when using ANSYS FLUENT software instead of QBLADE. Blades with a banana leaf midrib airfoil profile can offer good power even at low wind speeds, as shown by both programs. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Glutaraldehyde(GTA) crosslinking is commonly used to improve the thermal stability and mechanical strength of collagen casings. The aim of this research was to determine the optimal pH of the crosslinking between GTA and collagen as well as the crosslinking mechanisms. The weakly alkaline environment could facilitate the generation of GTA polymerization through the rapid generation of -C=C-C=O and -N=C-C=C- conjugated structures, and enhance the crosslinking reaction of GTA polymers with collagen amino groups. In the pH range of 8–10, the fibril diameter and d-space value declined significantly in the self-assembled collagen fibril-GTA system. Meanwhile, collagen casing films crosslinked with GTA in weakly alkaline conditions exhibited higher mechanical strength and thermal stability. These results suggest that the crosslinking of collagen casings and GTA can be improved by adjusting the pH. Possible crosslinking mechanisms related to the formation of conjugated long chains have also been proposed. This study could provide guidance on the appropriate use of GTA in the production process of collagen casings.
