The electric power system must have a protection system with reliable electric power isolation, so that the supply of electrical energy works properly and optimally. There are several kinds of disturbances in the electric power distribution system, one of which is a partial discharge. This study aims to investigate the effect of plate-rod electrodes on partial discharge, partial discharge voltage limits in solid insulation, and the characteristics of partial discharge in electrode media, and waveforms in partial discharge detection sensors. After conducting research, it was found that in the plate-rod type electrode media, the PDIV voltage appeared earlier than the plate-plate electrode media due to the cross-sectional area of the electrode media. And the limit of the pre-discharge voltage of PCB type solid insulation on the plate-bar electrodes is at a voltage of 1.3 kV. Several indicators to determine the characteristics of the partial discharge are background noise off (BGN off), background noise on (BGN on), partial discharge inception voltage (PDIV), and partial discharge voltage. After being examined, the value of each partial discharge detection voltage was obtained at negative and positive polarity voltages on the electrode plates and plate needles respectively 2.85 kV, 2.95 kV and 1.32 kV, 1.57 kV. © 2023 Institute of Physics Publishing. Early detection of heart rate conditions in autistic children is crucial for anticipating tantrum reactions and providing prompt medical intervention. Previous research designed a prototype for acquiring Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals using the AD8232 sensor, but it required a long time to identify heart rate conditions. This study aims to develop the previous prototype using Internet of Things (IoT) implementation to acquire and identify the heart rate conditions of autistic children in real time. The ECG signal data is analyzed using Butterworth Filter and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) integrated into Raspberry Pi and results are transmitted to the Blynk App. Testing over 20 minutes showed that in the first 10 minutes, the system identified a normal heart rate at 105.19 BPM with 67% accuracy, while in the second 10 minutes, the heart rate rose to 117.19 BPM with tantrum symptoms and 75% accuracy. This system helps medical personnel provide immediate intervention during tantrums. © 2024 IEEE.

This research investigates the effectiveness of geopolymer concrete incorporating fly ash in environments rich in chlorides;in contrast to conventional Portland cement concrete (OPC). The study emphasizes essential characteristics such as workability, mechanical strength, capillary water absorption, open porosity, and chloride migration. The experiments demonstrated that geopolymer concrete exhibits a 30% enhancement in slump values, reflecting improved workability, and its compressive strength rose by 14.90–23.94% when compared with OPC. A significant reduction in binder content led to a notable decrease in capillary water absorption, highlighting a positive impact on long-term durability. With time, geopolymer concrete showed a reduction in open porosity and chloride migration coefficient, indicating better resistance to chloride penetration in marine settings. Although these outcomes underscore the potential of geopolymer concrete to improve structural durability, especially in marine infrastructure, additional optimization is required to tackle its relatively higher capillary water absorption and chloride migration during the initial stages. These results contribute to the ongoing investigation of sustainable building materials, offering valuable insights into geopolymer concrete’s ability to endure severe chloride exposure and serve as a durable solution for corrosion management in marine infrastructure. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Shiraz University 2024.

Distribution of PM_(0.1),PM_(1) and PM_(2.5) particle-and gas-polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)during the 2019 normal,partial and strong haze periods at a background location in southern Thailand were investigated to understand the behaviors and carcinogenic ***1 was the predominant component,during partial and strong haze periods,accounting for 45.1% and 52.9% of total suspended particulate matter,respectively,while during normal period the contribution was only 34.0%.PM_(0.1) concentrations,during the strong haze period,were approximately 2 times higher than those during the normal *** increased levels of particle-PAHs for PM_(0.1),PM_(1) and PM_(2.5) were observed during strong haze period,about 3,5 and 6 times higher than those during normal ***-PAH concentrations were 10 to 36 times higher than those of particle-PAHs for PM_(2.5).Average total Benzo[a]Pyrene Toxic Equivalency Quotients(BaP-TEQ)in PM_(0.1),PM_(1) and PM_(2.5) during haze periodswere about 2–6 times higher than in the normal *** total accumulated Incremental Lifetime Cancer Risks(ILCRs)in PM_(0.1),PM_(1) and PM_(2.5) for all the age-specific groups during the haze effected scenario were approximately 1.5 times higher than those in nonhaze scenario,indicating a higher potential carcinogenic *** observations suggest PM_(0.1),PM_(1) and PM_(2.5) were the significant sources of carcinogenic aerosols and were significantly affected by transboundary haze from peatland *** leads to an increase in the volume of smoke aerosol,exerting a significant impact on air quality in southern Thailand,as well as many other countries in lower southeast Asia.

The influence of carbon dioxide (CO2) curing on the compressive strength of oil shale ash (OSA) concrete as partial cement replacement was investigated. 15 cm cubes with a 30% replacement percentage were tested after seven days of conventional curing and carbonation curing at 4 bar CO2 pressure. Research results demonstrate that CO2 curing influences the compressive strength of concrete significantly. There is a linear relationship between CO2 pressure and the duration of curing, as well as the compressive strength of OSA-based concrete. A sample of ordinary Portland cement was used as the control sample. The replacement of 30% cement by OSA increased the 7-day compressive strength from 48.5 to 55.5 MPa for plain cement samples and from 36.5 to 42.3 MPa for ash-based samples. From a technical standpoint, OSA-based concrete carbonation curing is still too immature for widespread application. Nonetheless, it is continuously developing in response to greenhouse gas reduction and paving the path for a more sustainable construction materials business. © 2024, Institute of Technology PETRONAS Sdn Bhd.

Effect of physical and biological pretreatment on sugarcane bagasse waste-based biogas production

Sugarcane bagasse is a biomass with very potential, especially in agricultural countries. In this research, a study related to pretreatment and the ratio of C/N to biogas production from sugarcane bagasse was conducted. The study was carried out on a laboratory scale with physical pretreatment by grinding with a size of 6 mesh, then biological pretreatment with the microbial consortium 5 % g/V, and variations in the C/N ratio at 25 and 30. Cow rumen fluid was used in this study as a source of anaerobic bacteria and technical urea is used to adjust the C/N ratio. The solid total is set at 7 %. Based on research that has been carried out for 60 days, it was found that physical pretreatment by grinding with a size of 6 mesh can increase biogas production. Biogas production increased both at C/N ratio conditions of 25 and 30. Furthermore, biological pretreatment with the microbial consortium 5 % g/V was proven to increase biogas production at both C/N ratios of 25 and 30. Further studies on the C/N ratio, it was found that the C/N ratio of 25 was better than the C/N ratio of 30. This is evident in several variables, including raw and fine substrate conditions, as well as on variables with or without a microbial consortium, with the amount of biogas productivity at a C/N 25 ratio of 53-90.5 % higher than the C/N 30 ratio. © 2023 The Authors. Microbially induced calcite precipitation (MICP) is an emerging geotechnical improvement technology that has received wide attention from researchers around the world. The applications of MICP in geotechnical field including soil improvement, surface resistance from erosion, coastal protection, and slope stabilization have been investigated by previous researchers. This paper presents a review on application of MICP for slope stabilization. Three subtopics were selected to be discussed: application of native bacteria, modified MICP methods, and field-scale studies. This review reveals that (1) MICP has the potential for slope stabilization;(2) native bacteria are ideal for use in MICP for application in slopes located in regions with variable cold climatic conditions;(3) to improve the effectiveness of MICP for slope stability, traditional MICP needs be modified;(4) MICP appears to have the potential to be one of the future landslide mitigation strategies since it works effectively in the field-scale test. Additionally, the recommended further researches in MICP for slope stabilization are: (1) study on the other types of native bacteria for diverse environmental condition is required;(2) to discover the best slope stabilization method, the combination of MICP and other traditional slope stabilization techniques should be investigated;(3) it is critical to investigate the effectiveness of the MICP technology for slope stabilization under various conditions in the field. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is widely utilized for accurate *** commonly applied method to obtain precise coordinate estimates is by implementing the relative positioning in network ***,this approach can be complex and ***,The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) offers freely available satellite orbit and clock correction products called Multi-GNSS Advanced Demonstration Tool for Orbit and Clock Analysis (MADOCA),which can enhance positioning accuracy through the precise point positioning (PPP) *** study focuses on evaluating PPP static mode positioning using MADOCA products and comparing the results with the highly precise relative positioning *** analyzing a network of 20 GNSS stations in Indonesia,we found that the PPP method using MADOCA products provided favorable positioning *** median discrepancies and the corresponding median absolute deviation (MAD) for easting,northing,and up components were estimated as 9±18 mm,10±9 mm,and 3±40 mm,*** results indicate that PPP with MADOCA products can be a reliable alternative for establishing Indonesia's horizontal control networks,particularly for orders 0,1,2,and 3,and for a broad spectrum of geoscience monitoring ***,considerations such as epoch transformations and seismic activities should be taken into account for accurate positioning applications that comply with the definition of the national reference framework.

The objective of this research is to design and develop an integrated landslide early detection system at Tower Number Eight, 150 kV Gianyar. The research is expected to result in the construction of a communication system based on LoRa technology that will serve to reduce the potential damage from landslides. In order to achieve this, several parameters must be considered as benchmarks. These include RSSI, SNR, BER and PDR. The device operates by monitoring changes in position, soil moisture and rainfall, and then transmitting the data via LoRa technology. At the sink, the data is recorded and monitored for RSSI, SNR, PDR and BER values. In the test, the source 1 node, situated 300 metres away, exhibited an RSSI value of -100 to -109 dBm and an SNR value of 6.75 to -6.7 in both sunny and rainy weather, with a PDR value of 100%. The source 2 node, situated 600 metres away, exhibited an RSSI value of -97 to -109 dBm and an SNR value of 8.5 to -11.75 dB, with a PDR value of 70 to 100%. It should be noted that the number of bits in the sensor data sent is always complete. This is evidenced by the bit error ratio (BER) value, which is always 0 on both source nodes. © 2024 IEEE.

Waste is a problem in almost every region, especially related to how the processing of waste can be converted into other forms as a form of energy that can be utilized, one of which is waste processing by pyrolysis is one of the technologies to convert waste into useful energy or fuel. At this time waste processing requires waste processing machines ranging from organic and un-organic waste shredding machines, briquette processing machines, pellets, using star-delta 3-phase motors, generally still conventional/manually. Current research, the author began to develop a waste and flue gas particle handling machine, a non-incinerator pyrolysis machine with the wet method, a high efficiency cyclone system which originally used a machine manually/ conventionally, replaced with a Delta series Star - Delta series with interlock and interface) automatically. Garbage processing The machine in addition to aiming to reduce waste waste, the machine must be made automatically and friendly to the operator who runs it. © 2023 IEEE.
