Deafness is a condition that results in the loss of hearing function, hindering the reception of information such as oral communication that relies on auditory senses. Consequently, individuals with hearing impairment experience communication barriers and may have limited or no ability to respond. One solution is the use of sign language. In Indonesia, there are two known sign languages: Sibi and Bisindo. Both serve the same function but differ in their style of movement and expression. Bisindo is considered more flexible as it conveys meaning based on the Indonesian language. However, the universal understanding of this language solution is still limited among many people. Therefore, a program is needed to facilitate translation between deaf individuals who use sign language and their counterparts who do not communicate through sign language. CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) is a deep learning algorithm used for training visual input data recognition by computer systems. There are various CNN-based architectures, and one of them is AlexNet. Based on the author's testing, the AlexNet architecture proves to be suitable for real-time sign language translation. The evaluation of the system involved 7,800 datasets and 520 testing instances, with an average accuracy of 468 correct translations. When averaged, the system achieved a 90% accuracy rate, representing a 100% increase in accuracy compared to previous approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 led to a significant increase in internet use, a trend that persisted post-pandemic due to hybrid work models and digital advancements. In Indonesia, where the digital economy is projected to reach USD 110 billion by 2025, reliable internet service is vital for the burgeoning digital economy. Sentiment analysis on user reviews provides critical insights into customer satisfaction and areas for improvement, directly benefiting ISPs by guiding service enhancements. This study employed sentiment analysis on the MyIndiHome app which was developed by Indonesia's leading ISP, IndiHome. MyIndiHome reviews from the Google Play Store can be utilized to assess user satisfaction. By utilizing Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) and Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit (Bi-GRU) models, the research classified the sentiment of these reviews into positive or negative categories. The models' performance was compared to identify the most effective approach for this task. The study aimed to recommend the best model for sentiment analysis, aiding in enhancing ISP services and supporting Indonesia's digital growth. We found that Bi-GRU was the best of both models, offering better performance with 95.87% accuracy on testing data and also came with faster training time. With this high accuracy, Bi-GRU could be reliably used to conduct sentiment analysis on MylndiHome reviews.

In 2022, Indonesia initiated a pilot project to transition from liquid petroleum gas (LPG) stoves to induction stoves, targeting 8.2 million households by 2025. While LPG is considered a clean cooking fuel by the World Health Organization due to its low PM2.5 emissions, this program aims to further reduce CO2 emissions from cooking activities, aligning with Indonesia’s clean energy transition and 2060 Net Zero Emission goals. Throughout the program, doubts and criticisms arose among various sectors of society, particularly concerning the sustainability of this program. This research aims to determine and analyze the driving factors that support the sustainability of the induction stove transition program. Five sustainability aspects, namely, economic, social, environmental, technical, and institutional, were analyzed. A total of 315 Indonesian citizens participated as respondents in this research survey. The Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Model (PLS–SEM) method was utilized as the analytical approach for the study. The results revealed that nine factors significantly influenced program sustainability, with the strongest impacts from technology costs (path coefficient = 0.859), contextual factors (0.803), electrical infrastructure (0.792), and community perception (0.773). Economic sustainability was driven by technology costs and business opportunities (0.643), while environmental sustainability was strongly influenced by electrical infrastructure. Post-installation support (0.307) and financial management (0.391) significantly impacted technical and institutional sustainability respectively. These empirical findings improve previous research on the sustainability of an energy transition program, which provides insights for researchers and stakeholders in the energy management field, especially in developing countries, for policy determination and decision-making. © 2025, Aalborg University Press. Mustard greens are a vegetable that is very popular with people, especially hydroponic mustard greens, which appear fresher. However, like other vegetables, mustard greens grown hydroponically are also susceptible to pests and diseases, which can cause the vegetables to lose their freshness and may even result in crop failure. This condition can cause losses for mustard greens farmers in running their businesses. This research proposes an information system that represents the expertise of hydroponic mustard greens farmers in diagnosing pests and diseases in mustard plants as well as solutions to overcome them. This is to make it easier for novice growers and anyone interested in learning about diseases or pests that impact hydroponic mustard greens. The expert system developed is web-based and functions as a user consultation medium in relation to mustard pests and diseases using the forward chaining and certainy factor method to explain the decision tree procedure for mustard plant disease symptoms. With this expert system, farmers do not need to look for people who can explain the problems they face. We found that there were 10 types of pests and diseases and 29 symptoms in the hydroponic mustard plants reviewed in this research. © 2024 IEEE.

Citrus Limon L. (Lemon) is a type of fruit that is currently widely consumed, because it contains abundant vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. This fruit have high potential in the agribusiness sector and is widely cultivated by traditional farmers. However, during harvest time, traditional farmers generally still use manual methods using the human eye in distinguishing the maturity level of lemons which is less efficient because it has a low accuracy. Digital image processing is one solution to this problem. In the research on the classification of lemon maturity levels using digital image processing with the feature extraction method of the Mean RGB, HSV, and LBP methods and the K-Nearest Neighbor classification algorithm in this study, a total of 120 lemon images were used which were divided into 80 training image data and 40 image data. testing. The results of model performance measurements in the form of the highest accuracy level in the Mean RGB method of 100%, the highest accuracy in the HSV method of 98%, and the highest accuracy in the LBP method of 82.5%. © 2023 IEEE.

Software testing is a phase in software development to ensure software quality. As more and more software is developed for web and mobile platforms, Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer is responsible to test software on both platforms to ensure functionality on each platform. While automated test can be implemented to reduce the workload of SQA Engineer, it has its setbacks as automated test needs a huge effort to maintain it and available tools to develop automated test currently only support one platform. In this research, an automated test framework is proposed and developed that can test both web and mobile platforms. Compared to an automated test project that uses separate tools, a project that uses the proposed framework has 2.57% higher maintainability index. A user test to 3 SQA Engineers has also been conducted and the proposed framework has generally been given high maintainability rating.

The development of information and communication technology, especially the internet provides opportunities to improve the ability of lecturers to deliver courses to students without being limited by distance and time. This can be done by utilizing e-learning which will accelerate the transfer of knowledge and skills. E-learning is distance education that utilizes various digital tools and platforms. These tools and platform are used to support interaction, lectures and delivery of instructions between lecturers and students. This study will discuss the use of work system methods and the use of e-learning technology in a business entity. The work system methods are used to design information systems. Meanwhile e-learning technology in a business entity serves lecturers and students, conduct lectures at private universities in increasing knowledge dissemination, educational affordability and the use of technology and information as its support. The result of this research is the works system method model which refers to the analysis of data from the internet accessibility survey of students, analysis of its components, the system development cycle, the revision of the vision, mission and resources in private universities and recommendations of opportunities for the development of higher quality e-learning implementation. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, lecturers carry out online learning and this condition also force student to learn independently. One alternative solution given is online-based problem-solving approach. This approach are suitable implemented in the mathematics informatics course. The Approach challenges students to be able to express every result of thinking, transform information into various forms of representation, as well as the ability to adapt to online learning during this pandemic. This research is case study research that aims to analyse the Communication Skills, Visual thinking, and Adaptability (COVid) of students in the mathematics informatics course through Online-Based Problem-Solving Approach. This course examines combinatorics and pigeon holes principle. This lesson is useful in the context of making software that requires certain calculations and logic. The subjects of this study were second semester students of the 2020/2021 academic year at the informatics study program at Univeritas Cokroaminoto Palopo. Data was collected by using assignments, questionnaires, and interviews to obtain valid data. The results show that only a few students are able to express every result of thinking, transform information into various forms of representation, as well as the ability to adapt to online learning during this pandemic. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. The consumption profile of electrical energy always increases every year due to the highly consumptive and inappropriate lifestyles of modern society. A bad lifestyle such as forgetting to turn off the unused electronic devices when they are leaving home is one of the factors influenced the increasing consumption of electrical energy. This is off course contributing in wasting energy. In the paper, an IoT-based electronic device control system has been successfully constructed. Monitoring and control tasks could be performed remotely and in real time mode using an interface application installed on a smartphone. The system built is equipped with a device operational condition monitoring featured by placing light, temperature, thermal and current sensors, respectively. Through the utilization of the implemented system, users can monitor and control electronic devices easily and can figure out the condition of the device remotely in a real time mode. The control test on the system was successful with an average response time of approximately 3.32 seconds and the accuracy of sensor readings above 89%. With the implementation of this system, users can easily monitor and control electronic devices anywhere and anytime so that the opportunities for efficient and effective use of electrical energy could be further optimized. © 2022. In indoor vertical farming systems, managing dynamic and complex environments poses significant challenges. Traditional control strategies often fall short in adapting to rapid changes in critical parameters such as nutrient levels, climate conditions, and plant health indicators. To address these challenges, this paper presents a novel approach for optimizing indoor vertical farming using Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (DDPG), a reinforcement learning algorithm well-suited for environments with continuous action spaces. Our study focused on the control and monitoring of key parameters, including nutrient levels (pH and EC), climate conditions (temperature, humidity, light, and CO2 levels), and plant health indicators (biomass accumulation and leaf size structure). By defining a comprehensive state and action space, we simulated an indoor farming environment and trained the DDPG model to maximize crop yield and health. © 2024 IEEE.
