This paper is made to compare the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Spider Monkey Optimization (SMO) for Traveling Salesman Problem. The background of the selection of these two algorithms based on the resulting performance has been recognized in the literature. In this study, 33 experiment were conducted where each experiment on the dataset was carried out for 10 iterations and then the Average Tour Cost value was taken from all experiments carried out. Based on the Average Tour Cost test, GA has a better performance than SMO with a value of 30.91 and 30.94 (example in the Burma dataset14). However, in terms of testing a larger dataset, the results of ATC SMO values are better than GA with values of 46303,47 and 53592,29 (example in dataset d198). This paper also examines the comparison of the results of the Minimum Tour Cost between GA and SMO. Where SMO got 73% (Win 23 Dataset), GA 27% (Win 9 Dataset), and 3% had the same Minimum Tour Cost. From all these experiments, it can be concluded SMO is the best solution in solving TSP. © 2021 IEEE.

The unbalanced dataset dramatically impacted the effectiveness of classification techniques, often leading to classifiers that were biased towards the majority class. Researchers had proposed deep learning along with random undersampling and oversampling to address this issue. This study conducted a comparative analysis between undersampling and oversampling methods for handling imbalanced class data. In addition, a deep learning approach was employed, specifically utilizing bidirectional LSTM and attention mechanisms. The method was assessed using a confusion matrix. The findings of this study demonstrated that oversampling surpassed undersampling, achieving an impressive F1 score of 79.87%.

A new VGOS (VLBI Global Observing System) radio telescope will be constructed at Bosscha Observatory Lembang, West Java, in cooperation between Shanghai Astronomical Observatory (SHAO) and Institut Teknologi Bandung. One of the preparation steps is to conduct RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) measurements to obtain the RFI environment from the vicinity of the observatory. In this work, we report preliminary measurements of the RFIs that were done for several days in August and September 2023. Instruments used includes: A-INFOTM LB-20180 horn antenna, Wright TechnologiesTM low noise amplifier, and AaroniaTM Spectran V5 80200 OEM spectrum analyzer. The frequency range of 2.0 - 18.0 GHz is targeted referring to VGOS frequencies. Measurements in one day are carried out for about 24 hours in eight cardinal directions and two polarizations. The results and analysis are presented in spectral power flux density plots. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In advancing electric vehicle technology, the braking system is a vital component with significant impacts on driver safety features. Numerous factors, such as high speeds, adverse weather conditions, human mistakes, and system malfunctions, play a role in the large number of vehicle accidents that happen each year. This has prompted vehicle manufacturers to develop advanced braking systems with the objective of reducing the likelihood of such incidents. The objective of this research is to implement a plugging braking system in electric vehicles, given the importance of the combination of electric and mechanical braking torque in ensuring the safe stopping of a vehicle. The methodology employed involved plugging brake modeling of a BLDC motor, the experiments of plugging brake, and the utilization of PWM as a regulator of plugging brake. The findings demonstrate that an increase in the PWM duty cycle of 58% (150), 78% (200), 98% (250) and 100% (255 full) can reduce the time required to stop the motor up to 2 seconds from the initial speed of 500 rpm, thereby underscoring the significance of PWM duty cycle variation in altering the braking current and thus the braking force. © 2024 IEEE.

Consumption is an essential aspect of daily life, and fulfilling customer needs requires efficient distribution of goods. Therefore, distributors are needed and they frequently set targets for their employees to achieve, and motivation plays a significant role in employee performance. An organization that distributes goods called CV Karya Prima motivates its employees by offering incentives. However, manual incentive calculation sets out problems such as a lack of progress tracking, irregular payout dates, and probable inaccuracies. This study aims to develop a web-based incentive calculation system using the analytical hierarchy process method and a database for data retrieval. The system utilizes PHP, CodeIgniter, and MySQL and adopts the SDLC prototyping method. The developed system is focused on the sales division and variables like total sales, effective calls, calls, and outlets. The web-based system is capable of solving the issues using the features that were built based on user needs and have already been tested through user acceptance testing.

Fintech companies should prioritize assessing customer satisfaction and focus on specific market segments to attract and retain customers effectively. This study investigates customer satisfaction levels within the *** application, utilizing the PIECES framework and machine learning techniques. Among various models, the Random Forest classification emerges as the superior performer. With an 80% training data and 20% testing data split, the model achieves impressive metrics: accuracy of 92.7%, F1 score of 91.9%, precision of 91.8%, and recall of 92.7%. Detailed analysis using the Confusion Matrix reveals that 134 instances labeled as “Satisfied” were correctly classified, five instances labeled as “Uncertain” were accurately categorized, and one instance labeled as “Very Satisfied” was correctly identified. In conclusion, machine learning plays a significant role in analyzing and classifying customer satisfaction levels, with Random Forest outperforming other machine learning models.

Widyaiswara is required to show the best performance to fulfill his duties and obligations. Therefore, it is very important to measure the performance of the Widyaiswara, so that it can be used as evaluation material by the BPSDM PROVSU. However, the assessment process that occurs is still not precise and time-consuming. Therefore, to minimize this, a decision support system is needed that can minimize time errors and data processing in decision-making so that the assessment runs well and accurately. This system was built by applying the WASPAS method and the TOPSIS method. Based on the results of tests carried out five times, the results of the WASPAS method processing time resulted in an average processing time of 0.00029791 ms and an average memory usage value of 2.836.44 kb, while the results of the TOPSIS method processing time test resulted in an average processing time - an average of 0.000296428 ms and an average memory usage value of 2.862.34 kb. © 2022 IEEE.

UD Parama Store is a trading company engaged in selling retail goods that sell various types of daily necessities retail. The major problems occurred are the difficulty in predicting the sales due to the maturity level of experience, customer demand changes, and the owner's limited memory. Therefore, there should be an increase of merchandise stock to prevent any sudden decrease in sales and overcome the stock shortage when there is an increase in sales. In this current research, a sales forecasting web-based system was designed and built to assist the owner in predicting the number of sales in the next period. As a result, decisions can be made in determining the number of goods to be provided. The forecasting method used was double exponential smoothing brown by improving forecasting, averaging (smoothing) the past value of a time coherent data, and decreasing (exponential), which requires one parameter only. It was used to increase and decrease the linear and non-stationary data. The calculation of forecasting accuracy using the MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) method in forecasting sales of merchandise produces the smallest error rate ranging from 7.99% to 32.42% for 10 different items. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Arranging an employee shift work's schedule requires high accuracy. It is because we have to pay attention to several constraints simultaneously. The genetic algorithm presents as a method which can automatize the process of arranging the schedule as well as optimizing the result of the schedule. The Shala Bali is a hospitality business whose scheduling was complicated because of the number of the employes. This research aimed at producing a shift work schedule of the employees in a week and to know the optimum genetic algorithm parameter in this case. The constraints that were taken into account in the arrangement of the schedule included the schedule conflict of the employees in one shift, schedule conflict of employees in 1 day, the same composition of employees per shift, employees should not get morning shifts after being in night shift the night before, each shift has at least 1 employee in the front office, and each employee is required to get 1 day off within 1 schedule period. This study was able to produce an optimal work schedule of employees with crossover probability (Pc) of 0.6, and mutation probability (Pm) of 0.3. The modification algorithm in chromosome generation and chromosome structure in this study results that changes in gene length (additional number of employees) do not have to be followed by an increase in the number of chromosome populations to get optimum results. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The society often faces a communication barrier with the deaf and mute community due to the lack of sign language translators. Hand gestures are used as a sign language to communicate between the ordinary people and the deaf people. However, the existing way to learn sign language is ineffective and inconvenient. The number of mobile translator applications for the Malaysian Sign Language on the market is less. The proposed system contains a sign detector mechanism using Support Vector Machine (SVM) to detect and interpret Malaysian Sign Language. The software used in this project were IntelliJ IDEA and Android Studio. This project's development consists of four main phases: dataset acquisition, dataset trainer, shape classification, and sign recognition. Each character is tested ten times to measure the performance of the developed system. The application is performed using an Android smartphone and successfully tested with character A to Z in a normal light condition with a maximum distance of 0.7 m. The successfully testing rate of this developed system is 90%. This application allows people to easily communicate with the deaf community because it is user-friendly and does not require an internet connection. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
