The objective of the research was to analyze the clustering method by optimizing Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) in the case of measles immunization for children under the age of 5. The research data source used is the North Sumatra Province Central Bureau of Statistics (https://***/). The data used in 2019 included 33 records with variables BCG, DPT-HB3/DPT-HB/Hib3, CAMPAK (MEASLES + RUBELLA), POLIO 4 and HEPATITIS B. The methods used were k-medoids and PSOs. This method is used to determine the value of the Davies Bouldin Index (DBI) before the cluster value is determined (k). The resulting k values were compared to k-medoids without PSO. The best results of k-medoid and PSO will be tested by classification to see the accuracy value of the cluster formed. The results showed that the optimization of k-medoids and PSO was better with the number of clusters (k = 5) than 0.078. (DBI). The results also show that the accuracy of the cluster formed is 95% with a correlation of 0.98. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Online discussion forums are widely used for active textual interaction between lecturers and students, and to see how the students have progressed in a learning process. The objective of this study is to compare appropriate machine-learning models to assess sentiments and Bloom's epistemic taxonomy based on textual comments in educational discussion forums. The proposed method is called the hierarchical approach of Bloom-Epistemic and Sentiment Analysis (BE-Sent). The research methodology consists of three main steps. The first step is the data collection from the internal discussion forum and YouTube comments of a Web programming channel. The next step is text preprocessing to annotate the text and clear unimportant words. Furthermore, with the text dataset that has been successfully cleaned, sentiment analysis and epistemic categorization will be done in each sentence of the text. Sentiment analysis is divided into three categories: positive, negative, and neutral. Bloom's epistemic is divided into six categories: remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating. This research has succeeded in producing a course learning subsystem that assesses opinions based on text reviews of discussion forums according to the category of sentiment and epistemic analysis. © 2024, CC BY-SA.

Humanoid robot is able to mimic repetitive activities done by human. By having them, humans can focus on tasks that require extra focus, while leaving the simple one to be done by humanoid robot. To extend the functionality of the 3D-printed upper-body humanoid robot, a camera along with a machine learning algorithm is implemented. In this case, their responses can be categorized based on the gesture it sees. In this paper, the authors evaluate the performance of an upper-body humanoid robot that implements CVZone. The method of evaluation is conducted under three different distances, and each distance has three different brightness levels. It is found that the success rate is highest at the shortest distance which is 50 cm, and under medium-lighted environment. As the distance increases, the hand gesture gets harder to differentiate. At the same time, low or high brightness environment makes the image that contain hand gesture hard to interpret, thus lowering the success rate. Finally, hand gesture that involves third and little finger has the lowest success rate of 75%, while the movement that involves three fingers simultaneously has the second lowest success rate of 80.9%. Meanwhile, simple hand gesture such as clenched-fist or lifting a thumb has 100% success rate under all condition. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The design and construction of delivering announcements using a web-based SMS gateway aims to help overcome problems that often occur at pioneer airports; this is because when passengers want to travel, many passengers still arrive late to check-in, even though the passenger ticket has a notification for checking. -in 1 hour before Departure. If a flight's Departure is delayed or accelerated, passengers will only receive this information when they arrive at the airport, whereas if at the time the departure notification is delayed or accelerated, the passenger is still outside the airport or still on their way to the airport, as a result, they will definitely not receive the information. Testing voice announcements on parking, arrival, departure, delay, check-in, and waiting room services, as well as testing SMS broadcasts (30 user numbers and one airline), shows that the announcement application provides information through voice data recording and broadcasts SMS to passengers and families. Testing was carried out at Indonesian Pioner airport for 30 passengers for a week. The percentage of Ease of obtaining test voice information was 81.98%, and the percentage of Ease of obtaining broadcast SMS information was 83.1%. Implementing the announcement is feasible at pioneer airports with a percentage of 82.54%.

The atmospheric turbulence as the natural media of optical propagation for the free-space optical (FSO) communications is the great advantage to reach flexible connection and low-cost deployment but also is the major problem as well. Since, the phenomena of optical propagation in the atmosphere are random process, an optical signal is induced that produces severe effects to the performance. Thus, a method to reach best performance of FSO must be developed intensively to reduce the severe effects of atmospheric turbulence. One of the solutions to reduce those aforementioned effects is an ultrashort pulse implemented in FSO to modulate frequency carrier as the signal of optical propagation. In this paper, an investigation of an ultrashort pulse was performed through simulation. An ultrashort pulse has a great chance to be implemented in FSO since it has shorter width of pulse duration than a short pulse. An ultrashort pulse is generated using optical second harmonic pulse generator that produce a pulse at 50 fs of width. Based on the results of simulation, the ultrashort pulses showing better performance of FSO than short pulses have. © 2022 Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science (IAES).

Nowadays, software testing is viewed as an important phase in software engineering life cycle as it aims to improve the quality of software under development. Due to limited software testing tools available for free, many developers cannot do a comprehensive testing to the software under development before launching the software. For this reason, this research aims to provide a prototype of a software testing tool that can be used as an initial base model for further development. The tool implements white box testing method that means the testing explores source codes of software under test to find the errors inside. We focus on one of data flow coverage techniques known as all p-uses coverage. The tool is able to calculate the all p-uses coverage percentage of the software under testing.

Research on Natural Language Processing (NLP) in Indonesian is still limited and the results of available research that can be used for further research are also limited. In a series of natural language processing, the initial step is parsing the sentence in a particular language based on the grammar in order to help understanding the meaning of a sentence. This research aims to produce a simulation of Indonesian parser by adapting the process which was conducted by using Collins Algorithm. The three main stages are: 1) preprocessing to generate corpus and events files, 2) lexical analysis to convert the corpus into tokens, and 3) syntax analysis to build parse tree that requires file events to calculate the probability of the grammar by count the occurrence frequency on file events to determine the best sentence trees. An evaluation was performed to the parser using 30 simple sentences and the outcomes were able to generate a corpus file, file events, parse-tree and probability calculations. Nevertheless some sentences could not be parsed completely true because of the limitations of the Tree bank file in Indonesian. Some future works are to develop complete and valid Tree bank and Lexicon files.

BlackBerry is not just an ordinary smartphone which rich in its multimedia features. BlackBerry also has very reliable internet services, include BlackBerry Messenger, e-mail, other instant messaging, and other internet service that Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) covers. However, there's an open question that all services that go through BIS is safe or not; considering the data includes text and files which is sent through BIS have to pass through the main server which is located in Canada. Therefor in this paper we chose to make software that can encrypt and decrypt text and even files, which will be sent through BlackBerry's internet or just to be stored in the BlackBerry device. In this paper, we use cipher block encryption algorithm with Cipher Feedback (CFB) 8-bit mode. This mode is chosen because it suits with the data inside BlackBerry device which is 8-bit aligned. The encryption algorithm uses cipher block encryption with 64-bit block size. We designed the algorithm based on Feistel network combined with some encryption/decryption algorithm. Then the cipher block encryption algorithm is implemented in software based on Java for BlackBerry. In this software development, we use the IDE Eclipse Ganymede with certain plugins. The expected result is software for BlackBerry capable to encrypt and decrypt some texts, either directly typed or saved as files on the BlackBerry device. This software also handles specific file types, such as picture and audio by preserving their file header, and also handles text encryption by transforming the ciphertext data to hex digits. After conducting some experiments, we conclude that the software has good compatibility with many kinds of BlackBerry devices and has good security level.

This research aims to help the user monitor their heart’s condition and notify other people in case of an emergency due to an abnormal heartbeat (normal heartbeat around 60-100 beats per minute). From the heart rate graph, the user could do a consultation with an expert in the nearest hospital using a map feature that will show the nearest hospital with a 1 KM radius from the user’s current location. The heart is undeniably an essential part of the human body system. The heart's missions are to pump blood to the lungs to expel the waste carbon dioxide that resulted from the respiration and pump blood that will deliver oxygen throughout the human body's circulation system. While the blood that carries oxygen being pumped throughout the human body, the heart will provide the oxygen to all cells. Body cells need to use oxygen to get the energy from food through a process called cellular respiration. Monitoring our heartbeat and pulse rate can increase people’s awareness about their heart’s health, motivating, and encouraging people to maintain a healthy eating plan and exercise. This research will be implemented ECG Sensor. The sensor will then send the data to the android application via HC-06 Bluetooth module. Monitoring the heart rate and analyzing the user’s heartbeat will be done in the android with a microcontroller device's help.

This paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of electrical generator performance using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), with a specific emphasis on the role of coil numbers in influencing generator efficiency and functionality. In the context of modern energy systems, where efficient power generation is paramount, this research aims to elucidate the relationship between the number of coils within a generator and its overall performance, including power output and electromagnetic behavior. Through systematic FEA simulations that vary coil numbers while keeping other parameters constant, this study provides valuable insights into the trade-offs associated with increased coil numbers and enhanced efficiency. These findings have significant implications for optimizing generator designs across various applications, from renewable energy systems to industrial power generation, ultimately advancing our understanding of generator dynamics and contributing to more sustainable and efficient power generation technologies. © 2023 IEEE.
